The Fatal Flaw of Democracy: When Policy and Reelection Clash

so that's why it's such a problem because they're always thinking in terms of what policy gets me reelected not what policy helps the country because generally the policies that help the country are not popular right because they in the short run somebody's got to lose something right it's just like you know when you're working out right it's no pain no gain that's that's the saying right right well if there's any pain you don't get reelected the voters don't like pain so it's like what you're out of here right so nobody wants to you know be the messenger right because they shoot the messenger right they vote for they vote for the messenger's opponent so nothing good gets done that is the Fatal flaw in democracy
