Once upon a time, there was a small sanctuary where Maria and her daughter Indigo lived happily surrounded by the rescued animals they loved. Sanctuaries can be magical places for animals. There they live a different story in which they're finally safe and free. But the world is different. The world is not a sanctuary. For most animals there are no happy endings. But the world is a weird place where animals can get lucky when everything goes wrong. Indigo always wanted to help animals, but Maria always wanted to keep her safe. Today, however,
Indigo has a feeling that she will be needed. This is Indigo's first time in a rescue. Maria couldn't be more terrified to see her child there. And their new friend is also terrified, but of being sent back to the slaughterhouse. Indigo, on the other hand, feels fearless. Not all parents get the chance to see their children grow fearless. In sanctuaries, they do. Today, their new friend saved herself and her unborn calf. And Indigo gave them new names. Now, Mom and Hope will live safely ever after in Freeland Sanctuary.
