Pickleball returns to Dilworth Park, Center City Restaurant Week underway in Philadelphia

good morning I'm Howard rro with your morning news brief for this Sunday September 8th happening today and every Sunday for the rest of the month several streets surrounding writtenhouse Square will temporarily close the vehicle traffic the initiative is called open streets the hope is to make pedestrians feel safer while walking around and also help boost local businesses in the area police started shutting down roads around 8:00 this morning many of these area businesses will have a street presence it goes from 10: until 5:00 p.m. get your paddles out because pickle ball is returning to Center City starting tomorrow pickle ball will be making a pit stop at Dorth Park once again two courts will be open for use and can be reserved online through City pickles their website or the app it costs about $5 to play as an individual or you can reserve a court for up to eight people for $40 paddles can be rented for an additional $6 the courts will be open until October 13th also happening today Restaurant Week in Center City it kicks off the promotion is for 2 weeks and more than 100 restaurants will have discounted meals for lunch and dinner you can learn more about that promotion on our website CBS philadelphia.com now let's get a check here next by the forecast with meteorologist Tammy sua hey Tam well hello what a perfect time to eat Al Frasco well it was chilly this morning but your launch and your dinner should be lovely outside bright sunshine today but we have had the coolest day and night since June 1 that is going to be last night today and then again for tonight uh we are going to be running about about 10 to 15 degrees below average we're going to see nights in the low 50s and the 40s and we're going to see days that are going to generally be in the upper 60s close to 70° sunny breezy and cool out there for today as well let's run through what's going to happen here you go we're going to be all the way up to 79 degrees in Philadelphia 60s in the outline areas we will drop tonight to right around 51 degrees uh 40s in the outline areas that's the coldest since may actually and now we're going to be climbing to 77 for our Monday we'll have plenty of clear skies out there and look at the humidity oh my goodness we're going to be in the refreshing Zone we're not going to be dealing with the muggy the humid the not bad and the gross zones 71 out there for today 51 tonight 78 tomorrow we climb to the 80s Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday and Saturday few clouds move in here Friday and Saturday but no rain Howard all right Tammy thank you very much remember you can always get the latest news and weather right here at CBS philadelphia.com I'm Howard Monroe have a great day
