Ok. So I'm gonna quiz you. All right. Today is the first day of meteorological fall. I do know that summer is over. Would you say this was a warmer, cooler drier, wetter? What combination of those? I would think it was cooler than normal and I would think it was wetter than normal. I like your optimism. And you know where that's coming from because the last two summers were so bad. That's what it is. That's what it is true. You're right. Believe it or not. And I'm gonna show you these numbers. We cal, well, Kyle Roberts calculated the numbers. I'm stealing just copying off of it. I give credit on like Dels. Uh, let me show you this uh 86.1. That was the average summer temperature this year. So we take all the highs, all the lows. We divided by the number of days in the summer and we had 6.63 inches of rain. Now, how does that compare to the average? Yeah, it was the 14th hottest summer are the last two summers were so tremendous miserable. They were bad. Uh, so the 2023 2022 those were top five. So uh we settled for a top 14 this year. If, if I know go us, it felt better. I will tell you tremendously better than the last two years. Uh and rainfall, it was a little bit drier than normal by 1.3 inches. Uh July obviously was above normal. We had a very nice July, June and August, uh near normal and below normal so far this August, but we're, you know, getting some rain. Now, September 1st, a little bit of heavy rain that moved through Dallas starting to weaken as it moves, uh, closer to Cedar Hill and Grand Prairie. So right over Joe Pool Lake right now, some pretty heavy rain from, uh, from Duncanville down through Cedar Hill, that thunderstorm is collapsing and that's kind of been the, the, the rule of thumb here with these, these showers and storms is they'll blossom up, they'll dump some rain, then they kind fall apart. And we finally in the Dallas Fort Worth area got at least a little taste of some rain areas west of the metroplex have been cashing in on the scattered showers and storms much more than the Dallas Fort Worth area and our folks off to the east. So not much for the metroplex over the last couple of days tonight, still some spotty showers. You might hear a rumble of thunder tonight. There will be nothing severe and it would be one or two rumbles of thunder. We've hardly had any tonight. We've seen maybe 10 lightning strikes, maybe o over the last couple of hours. It's not very many. The heavy rain starts tomorrow morning, primarily to the west of the metroplex. This is nine o'clock in the morning. It's a good coverage of rain, uh, for Labor Day, Dallas, Fort Worth area, lower coverage, spotty showers, couple rumbles of thunder but some heavy rain, uh, and pretty widespread rain farther to the west. There's three o'clock in the afternoon. We still have a decent chance for some spotty rain in the metroplex areas. East of the Dallas Fort Worth area, a lower coverage. So here's a breakdown of that 80 to 70 percent farther to the west. It's about 40 to 50 across the Dallas Fort Worth area. And then uh if you live in Bonham or uh down to the Canton area, it's about 30 to 40. So the coverage much farther uh West will be higher. Now, here's the timeline for the Dallas Fort Worth area, 50% coverage at noon. It'll stay around there for most of the afternoon and start to go down just a little bit by 7 p.m. But if you have any early morning plans, there will certainly be a chance for rain. More showers and thunderstorms on Tuesday with the highest coverage yet again to the west of the metroplex and with the clouds and rain around on Tuesday, we actually may have highs in the seventies and low eighties for parts of the area tonight. 75 warm and muggy tomorrow. 87 the 14 day forecast 82 on Tuesday. And yes, there will be lows in the sixties. If you look at the, uh, the low temperatures there, Tuesday and Wednesday, that's lower seventies areas outside of the metroplex in the sixties, upper sixties. Uh, and beyond that. Not bad. No, and not loyal W FAA viewers know that last night you made a bold prediction saying that the triple digits are behind us or I will mow someone's lawn and clean their, clean their house. Did I say that? Right? You did. And you know, you realize you've now made that promise twice on TV. I'll do it. I will do, I mean, you may not be happy with the results, but I'll do it right.
