Maryland is about to enter into some unfamiliar territory life without Talia under Center that hasn't happened he's been a four-year starter for them um he's no longer there now and Talia as far as Maryland goes and you know truthfully as far as the big tle was was a fantastic quarterback he's he is the Big 10 all-time leading passer fouryear starter owns pretty much all of the Maryland passing records so you know move over Boomer cin um but now they are entering into a world without Talia under Center um so they have a couple of options here and and locks hasn't has not made a definitive answer of who's going to be the starter but they have a couple of of solid options to look at and MJ Morris is probably the leading candidate here he comes over from NC State this year where he had taken over from um Brennan Armstrong last year and he showed some flashes he got into some games got some decent amount of reps but he also showed some turnover problem I think he had like five or six interceptions last year in in a short period of time um but my guess is that he's likely going to be the starter he has the most experience and I think he also has the most upside you were able to see last year he's got some pretty good Raw Talent um did show some really good flashes so he's I think he's likely to be the starter the other candidate is Billy Edwards and that was Tal's backup for the past couple of years and he got some reps in the bowl game last year but overall very little experience his his upside is that he's been in the system for a few years now so he'll have that edge over MJ Morris but I don't think he has as much of an upside as MJ Morris but the good thing for Mike Loxley is that the schedule is very backloaded so they have some time to figure this out to start the season they don't face an opponent with a winning record in 2023 so last year until week seven and that week seven game is Northwestern so they have some time to to figure this out and to really mesh uh who's going to be the starter here who who's really working well with the ones um but they they need to figure this out early and quick because the end of the season is really hard for them their last six games they got four really Barn burners that they're that they're going to be facing they got USC at home they have a trip to Oregon so across the country to go face the Ducks who were like you know second to in odds on favor to win the conference um then they host Iowa and then they have a trip to Beaver Stadium to end the season so those four games those four last six games are are no slaps up those are going to be really tough games now obviously they avoid Ohio State and Michigan with the new structure of the Big 10 and they're hoping to take advantage of that and I think that they will in in you know in in this year and in future years um this the the new structure of the Big 10 really favors a team like Maryland but they still have a hard schedule this year I like the upside of MJ Morris and I think he'll end up getting the starting position um and I think he'll do all right with the turps follow big body ball on all socials
