Venezuela | People remain calm despite attack to national power grid

and now again we go live with our colleague and correspondent Gladis kada who will give us a quick and precise update about how the Venezuelan people and also the government face the the power grid in the country hello Glades yeah hello thanks for once again having me here and receiving me with the information and the updates from kakas Venezuela yeah currently the uh recovery the reinstatement of the power grid of the service of electricity here in kakas is gradual as you were saying and is going step by step slowly in some areas but because it depends of the capacity of recovery of the infrastructure and also because the damage was uh wide in some uh point in some extent but so far they are recovering this also as uh you were referring the president Nicolas M moros he was addressing the national and international press from the M Flores Palace the seat of the government and he was there in a meeting with some of the top authorities of the nation that's to say the defense minister Vladimir parino Lopez the communications Minister Freddy nanes and the interior Justice and peace Minister dial C Rondon those are three of the ministers that were having statements and pronouncing themselves today and so far this is uh what has happened uh lately in Venezuela and in karakas I have to say that the president and you were given some data but uh I want to stress other ones that the president said that all the contingency plans all of those uh strategies to face one attack like this one you know an attack of this kind and this magnitude uh are available in the country and uh you know that the Venezuelan authorities and the people have the expertise to confront this kind of attacks this kind of terrorist actions against the national power grid as it was done on March the 7th back in 2019 when Juan guo was self-proclaimed as president of the nation and he also was calling for this kind of actions and this uh extent or this type of violence in the country also he was congratulating the people of Venezuela because he was saying that everyone was in peace was calm and they show a a strong will and also a a good judgment and in their actions and in their ability to qualify what was going on in the country and not just to be carried away by the provocations of the right wi and the attacks he was also saying that everyone went out just to work and to live one regular normal day as they used to and he was saying that uh this is not new as he was referring but this one has a uh you know this new attack has a psychological impact has a a psychological uh attempt you know aiming in the collective imaginary of the people and this has an underbelly because it's not just to leave the country without service it's also to impact on the uh stability and you know the the spiritual peace of the people and to provoke them to make them go out and to be outraged against an enemy that does not exist so that's one of the strategies of this attack and that was what the president was saying and he reminded that prior to the elections of July 28th there was a paramilitary group that was detained in Tashira and he was saying that that paramilitary group composed or made up by Venezuelan and Colombian people was uh or had the intention to explode uh an electric station also a power station in that state so one of the many objectives one of the many points of uh that group was to um put in danger to jeopardize the July 28th presidential elections intending to impede the uh realization the carrying on of these elections but uh it was also stopped it was pulled in a hat and this is the result so the president was saying that this is not new and that the right-wing extremist groups and the terrorist groups were announcing this in the social media back in August the 7th when they were saying that the anonymous group was announced in a hit against the national power grid as this one that Venezuela has suffered today so that is the information I have to stress that this attack against the the national power grid affected 80% of the service in a country that is reliant on energy because of the transportation means because of the hospitals and because of uh all the services but as the president was saying they are prepared they are aware of what is going on in the back of these attacks and that the nation is so prepared that for example all the hospitals 79 hospitals here in kakas had a power backup so they never ceased to do uh or to perform the surgeries to give the services to provide health care for the people and that's so important to say because that tells a lot about the uh preparation the preparedness the Readiness the expertise is of the Venezuelan government and the Venezuelan people facing this kind of actions and this kind of attacks so Anna this is the information this is what is going on in Venezuela and in Caracas and we will be reporting so far and also in upcoming emissions so now we give you back the signal back to you Anna thank you Glades very much for your update and all the important things you said
