in terms of the overall context of the par Olympics well Great Britain remains second in the medal table behind China 90 medals 39 of them gold one of the highlights last night Dan Penbrook breaking the f-13 javelin world record not once but twice as he won his event and he is with Miriam Walker Khan now we are back at par Olympics chb house with a very special guest indeed Dan penbook who is not only the par Olympic champion not only the par olympic record holder in the f-13 ja but also now the world record holder after the most incredible night at the stad def FRS last night Dan how are you feeling that must have been incredible yeah you're just saying that sounds amazing um that's all three boxes ticked right yeah so only ways up from now on right just to increase those distances but yeah phenomenal I I never thought it would plan out the way it did last night I've been at that Stadium a lot this summer at the Olympics at the par Olympics and I really really don't think I felt an atmosphere that electric for the whole games and that was all because of you you putting on a show setting a world record and then a few moments later setting another world record how did it feel in those moments yeah I mean like it was a response um from what the Iranian Ali perouge threw he threw a 69 M throw after my world record which was very you know it's quite close to the the the world record that I set so I was thinking the job's not finished yet and so that's when I responded after that point I kept calm I got my process goal sorted out and um bang it went out there and as soon as it left my hand those two arms came up in the air and I knew it was big but then I had to have a double take on the actual um on the scoreboard to see that 74 49 M throw that was over 3 m more than the the first world record a few moments earlier did you think that you had that 74 m in you no no way that was that exceeding my expectations you know my my lead up to this games hasn't been that great you know it's been riddled with injury disappointment um but somehow I seemed to have just battled through it just with a I don't know just a sense of oh well carry on and just do what you can to you know do get out the best you possibly can you've got a full fouryear cycle I Le par Olympics in La do you think you can get up to that 80 M Mark and and set a new par Olympic record there well I I really believe in in John my coach and um you know he's got a wealth of experience behind him and if he can see it I can see it so yeah Dan thank you so much for letting us follow your journey thank you for talking to us and I think there's another Bell there that you can ring because I heard you rung that one in the stadium pretty hard y like doing that do that one awesome how many rings are we going for as many as you want all right we ready [Music] [Music]
