here in Morgan City right now and what we're doing is we've been talking to First Responders as they've been getting ready to really be on the front lines of hurricane Francine I could take you behind me to kind of see what we're looking at right now now this is exactly what the the city has built their infrastructure to do this is a good sign even though it's it's Rushing Water and pouring in here to this Creek System to this ditch system that is what we want to see especially as all of this rainfall collects on the area we know that the ground has been completely saturated from rainstorms over the past few weeks so what we want to see we want to see all these many thousands of gallons of water pushing into this Creek area and we're also paying attention to how high that water level is right now it looks about7 we'll be kind of watching that throughout the day to see what's going on also you can see that wind has already started to come in some more and you can see it through the grasses as well and of course while we've been talking to First Responders they've said the big things here is wind and storm surge or any kind of flooding that happens here especially because the ground is really wet really saturated they know that the trees are going to come down if it gets hit with 90 M hour winds which is expected um as well so when I spoke with the fire department earlier this morning they said make sure you close both exterior and interior doors that's going to help that pressure difference inside your home take a listen keep that air in uh in the damp weather from getting inside your home you don't want that air to get inside especially when the winds are really kicking up and charging up and pressurizing your home that's when uh bad things can happen to your house
