WSL and nwsl Players Association announced they've agreed upon a collective bargaining agreement through 2030 it's a major game changer for the women's game the league has been growing tremendously in terms of finances teams with the goal of still adding two more and TV broadcast deals that run through 2027 now the league allegedly wanted a CBA that did not expire until after the broadcast deals so what does it include well it includes the elimination of the nwsl players draft the first professional League to do so it grants unrestricted free agency to all players free begin September 1st this year but will begin July 1st in the following years to come it provides expanded child care and parental leave benefits and increases players salaries it raises a minimum salary from $48,500 in 2025 to $82,500 by 2030 for the minimum salary these changes provide the league an opportunity to draw more Global Talent compete with leagues around the world most importantly these changes give players more of a say the pay and inclusion in every way
