welcome back there are millions of Canadians who use Tik Tok every day what started out as a social media platform full of funny silly cheeky videos has matured into something much more and now some indigenous Canadians are taking full advantage to tell their own unique stories in tonight's indigenous Circle ctv's Noah Rog speaks to the artists who are part of a digital Renaissance storytelling has historically been one of the most important parts of indigenous culture this is just behind the scenes with Noah CTV News sason and we are storytellers so we still have that in our blood and our language our language is really important and I feel like these this knowledge needs to be passed on in the modern day this still Rings true only now it can take a bit of a different [Music] form despite its controversy it's undeniable that over the past few years Tik Tok has taken the World by storm the indigenous Creator accelerator program aims to help teach indigenous creators how they can start a career in the new digital media landscape and some of the topics that we touch on um we go from like media training um how to do interviews um you know navigating the Tik Tok app and the platform itself how to engage more with your audience how to build your audience um Production 101 and we also like to cover um mental health and wellbeing as well interest in the program is only growing we usually each year We've ran this program we've seen a higher and higher um interest from folks across Canada which is great creators like Shania who has over 40,000 followers credit the program with their success that's actually this is what I do this is what I do for a living and I feel like something I love something I love and I'm really thankful for this opportunity like the Tik Tok accelerator for indigenous creators program has really helped me so much and I'm really grateful for NSI and Tik Tok Canada for inviting me I'm here at Gathering of Nations as I'm On Top the Empire State Building Noah Rog CTV News sasun
