This less than 24 hours after the Virginia Department of elections officially accepted her bid for governor of Virginia Marta Berglund. Reports in just a few minutes. Lieutenant Governor Winsome, Earl Sears is expected to announce her run for Virginia governor from Chick's Oyster Bar in Virginia Beach. She's the state's first female lieutenant governor served in the House of Delegates from 2002 to 2004 and served on the Virginia Board of Education. Sears is known for her support of gun rights appearing in a 2021 campaign photo holding a rifle during the 2020 presidential election. Sears became the national chairwoman of the political Action committee, Black Americans to reelect the president in support of former president Donald Trump after the 2022 midterms. She said she would not support him in the 2024 election calling him a liability in recent appearances. Sears has said she will support Trump this November in Virginia Beach, Marta Berglund, 13 news now and as of right now, Congresswoman Abigail Spanberger is the only Democrat seeking her party's nomination for Governor.
