US Open 2024 Bracket Predictions | Recorded 8/27/24 | let’s see what I got wrong

[Music] hey everyone Thanks for tuning in I thought it'd be fun to do a kind of a somewhat quick video uh of about the uslin I did do a draw before a play started probably over the weekend and we are into day two today and I thought it'd be fun to kind of go through what I came up with the draw and see how far I'm off but before we get started uh be sure to like share and subscribe uh really helps and we'll start with the women and we'll do this by quarter let's see how far I'm off so right off the bat uh EA did get in the second round oh here let's refresh this here just to make sure do the bracket view yes so EA got through her first round match um Struck it a little bit in that second set taking it into a tiebreaker um so she's in the second round um I did get this one wrong but truth be told I wasn't really familiar with either of those players so this 25th seed um I think she made it through into the second round I also got this other one here wrong uh Andrea did make it into the second round um I did get this one wrong Krueger beat Zang I thought I thought for sure that wouldn't happened uh let's so as far as my predictions I have EGA getting at least to the fourth round she seems to be on par for that and I have her meeting at draa in the fourth round I think that's a pretty good matchup and I think she'll get to the quarter uh provided she doesn't have a shakier matches subsequent to this um going further to the next part of the draw we'll start with Collins I got this one wrong doah Hy took her out in three sets um so this one is all wrong I had her going pretty far into the draw given this was her last US Open with her announcement to retire this year so I did not think I thought she'd really push to get F farther in the draw so she's out first round uh that's a good win for doah Hy um let's see who else did I get I got this one wrong uh tulson I have her going into the second round Schneider I think she'll get to the second round uh Katy wter won her first round match and I've got this one wrong martic uh this will be a fun one to look at uh I'm not sure when that's scheduled Ander ricano and Kennan two former Champions I have Rican of getting there to the second round but I have uh pigula going all the way to the fourth uh and if I had to guess I think that would be where with Schneider or Shater getting to the fourth round at this point given uh with Collins out uh what else can we look at let's go into the next part of the draw uh we're about GNA it must be playing her match now I had her going into the second round actually I had her going all way to quarters but we'll see what happens um I got this one wrong saying did not get past pun CH uh looks like wasaki I got that one right uh she got to the second round and uh it looks like uh 28th SE Garcia lost one and four so she didn't make it out um let's see what we have going on here this is still playing uh kesaya I have her she got to the second round I had her going all the way to the fourth round against raka and I think raka will be here it just depends on her health and how well she starts playing um let's see here so this quarter Peno against Asaka uh I didn't watch this but I did see the end of the match so Asaka big win for her taking out top 10 player getting the second round she won that uh two three and two pretty handly and then uh machova she's a she's a really good player she made it the second round I got that one right A lot of these others haven't played so let's get to the next section uh number eight c kova number eight seed made it through I got that one right ruse um let's see here t Townson got pass her first round match as well as did Paula pedosa pedosa has been playing pretty well so that's not surprising um and then we have a aanka got through I did not want to do that um back to the racket view let's see here yeah here we are aarka got through into the second round I expect the S Stevens to take this uh and get to the second round but um I saw the score line on that and I thought she was 6-0 first set and then loses the next two 7575 that's that's a tough loss for um Sloan there so um let's see what else I got right uh Perry got passed her first round against Z and uh this was a walk-off sakur I had sakur getting through but uh uh she did not make it so it's uh Wang getting into the second round against Perry um and that's just going to mess me up all the way through but this quarter I kind of have it ending at a fourth round with padosan a aanka and bosa's been playing well I I'm picking pedosa to get to the quarters um what did I get right here I mean Emma Navaro got through her first round pretty easily one and one uh I got this wrong here uh Dart got through and the 19 seed ctia got through let's see here sped alonia got through to the second round in three sets and so did Kina kinina uh let's see here Maria got through her first round match and so did Goff Goff two and zero pretty easy win um I think this will be um if all goes to plan I have Navaro and gof meeting in the fourth round um and we can talk about that the next tab um so let's look at the next here Zang and Anna Sova I thought that was a good matchup um Anna Samoa had that first set and I thought she had a chance but couldn't upset the gold medalists Zang here sh so Zang gets through the second round um and Drea got through her first round match um I think this will be a good match up too but I think zang's to strong a player she'll probably get all the way to the fourth round of the quarters at least um I got got that one wrong and I got that one wrong let's see here P made it through to her second round match four and four uh got that one wrong see here Paula Sterns got through her first round match and doed uh Cina got through her first round match this will be a fun one too coming up in a third round provided they get past their second round matches uh let's see what else did I get here I got Madison Keys got through her first round match uh I got that one wrong I thought Sigman would have gotten through but uh four and 6475 Joint got through um tanovich got through her first round match against Merton so I got is correct um I think it'll be Mertens and keys in a third and key getting to at least a fourth round there in that section um then we have an EPS another seed goes down the 29th seed goes down and uh got that one wrong planette did not get through uh and then then for the last I got this one right Ron zetti got through and then Sanka got through three and three saan has been playing really well I I think she'll get all the way to the quarters so uh yeah I got a few wrong but few right um as far as the ladies or the women's uh from fourth round on these are my predictions and obviously I have some things wrong now so this is not gonna happen um and this is not gonna happen so uh I think we'll see eega and Andrea in the fourth round I think EA is GNA get that AGA will now pigula I'm going to say Pula gets to the quarters who would she have played I think she'll beat Schneider she beat her recently so um I think Pula I don't know I think Shan's going to get all the way to the final it's an easy one I think but maybe I'll be surprised uh we're backing at K skaya I think re backa takes that gets the semi if this is going to be eega here then I think it's going to be here too could be wrong I'd be like to be surprised the last two grand slam finals we I have been wrong it's been uh un uh it been players who I not did not expect uh I I rebeccaa kalisai getting on the fourth round I got rebeccaa uh Osaka and palini in the fourth round okay vaka can keep up the level that she's at after take out panko uh I think she might actually she might get all the way to the final but she wasn't playing her best in the previous tournaments so given that I think P Pei could win and I don't think she'll beat reaka I've got pedosa over as a Ranka into the quarters but I don't think she'll get past Navaro uh fourth round Navaro and golf like I said that'd be a good one but uh I think Navaro was uh playing well Zang and Cina I think I gotta give that to Zang and then keys and sabila I mean I think you got to give it to sabalenka so I got sabalan going all the way to the final um I want I had Collins getting there just given this is her last um US Open but given she's already out first round that kind of opens it up a bit so I mean pigula could make a run um Osaka can make a run to get here um Navaro she's playing playing well she could make a run maybe she beat Sanka I don't know that's that that's a tough call so those are my women's um predictions and how I lined up so far so let's let's look at the men's draw here um oh and just to look back at the women and see where we're at um as far as live scores let's refresh this here yeah nothing there's a few kind of early still in place so all right let's switch over to the men and let's look at that okay then um all right so Center McDonald [Music] um Center's really close man it's 4-1 in the fourth yeah McDonald took that first set but it's been two and one I think he figured out what he was doing wrong or he figured out he was yanic Center uh who's making a lot of headlines so I I think he'll get through that first round um Michaelson he got through his first round match uh he'll see Center in the second round um who else has been playing uh arur Phils and te are still playing let's scroll down a bit uh titp pass and kakas uh I had kages getting pass uh TI a pass in the first round I I this went to a pretty good four sets but I'm not really surprised uh by this outcome pass hasn't been playing the best so I'm not surprised by that one I did get this one wrong with Cora getting into the second round uh Daniel did not make it in five so that was wrong and I did not expect FAA to lose in straight sets against mensik two four and two I did not see that coming I had him going deeper into the draw so that's going to mess me up up until the fourth round um see if we can go down what else has been playing um let's see here is that Med so so we got [Music] Diaz that's further down here so I got this one wrong uh Draper got into the second round that's good um this one's being played right now with Shao and it looks like chapalas the first set and they're pretty early in the second so I anything can happen in five um let's go further down I have wow I got that one wrong I had I thought tabilo would have gotten through he's been play he was playing really well earlier this year um but he didn't guffin straight sets 76 61 75 um manarino he's a he's a tricky player he he looks like he made it through um pretty easily into the well straight set second round um fugini I didn't he didn't make it so I got that one wrong and uh where else where else I got this one right deminar he's on track to win that uh he should be Gan but 63 6411 anything in happen maybe it'll go to Five sets but I think I think the demon will get through I've got demon going all the way into the fourth round um possibly the quarterfinals um let's see here who else has played okay let's see here okay I got this one right the 30th seed and ALDI got through and so did soflin both getting through taking out Americans in the first round uh Jordan Thompson got through in straight sets as well did herca so he didn't NE none of these guys dropped the set um I have naldi and herx getting to the third round and then Hubie getting all the way to the fourth and um this is going to be a tough one it could go either way um I think H had had an injury uh but I think deminar if he's healthy he should be able to get to the quarters um let's see the next one with Roode got past his first round match this was a good one with Mon and schwarzman uh schwartzman's last US Open I think he's retiring so mon got past that one in four sets uh I've got the Carbell is correct I Buck he did not make it out in five sets against Shang that was all right so I got that one wrong so and that would mess me up here so but I think I think rude should be able to get through at least the fourth round here all right so let's go further down with hbert he got pass his first round match uh got this one wrong I had Stricker bartini got through his first round match as well did Fritz so this will be a fun one to watch for the second round bartini and Fritz bartin is playing well ever since he came back and Fritz number 12 one of the top Americans so I have him getting to the quarters but we'll see what happens uh this was another Surprise by me um actually it was a surprise I take it back I did get it right but it was a good matchup I thought it'd be more competitive but Nakashima took out Nakashima took out Runing like 21 and four uh uh if he can keep up that menum I think he'll get to the third round I don't think he'll beat MTI Miss is a really good player but I got MTI going to the fourth round but I'd love to see Brandon get farther into the draw um I got this one wrong I thought Karina Karina austa would have gotten farther uh nishii I think he had um he had to retire I think that that was tough I mean it was going into fifth set so that's tough and Miss said he got through his first round match what else did we get so Ronaldo got through so did eer both really good players um Mueller got through as well as Zev I think zov has got this section he'll get to the quarterfinals I think uh or fourth round but I think he can beat MTI and let's see here rulev got through his first round match um Eubanks I'd hoped he'd get through but he lost in five um then we have Krueger got through I got that right I got this one right I just I think ru's starting to figure it out I think he'll get through the fourth round um maybe even the quarters depends on how well he starts playing later on um let's see Baye got through here his first round match so did Grease uh I got this one wrong and um that was four sets so I got that one wrong uh demitro got through got through three four and two pretty easily um so I think I think demitro still gets to a fourth round I don't know if he beats rev but we'll see what happens there uh Shelton and team team's last US Open he's retiring this year Shelton got through that pretty easily 42 and two he will see Batista go that's a tough character but I think he'll get to the third round um I got this one wrong TFO got through his first round match and four I think he'll get to the third round um I give the fourth round match if Shelton and TFO get past their second round to TFO cuz he seems to be playing a little better Shelton a little shaky the last couple tournaments but we'll see what happens um and then the final portion of the draw I did get poin right Martinez oh I got this one wrong Stu I they lost that in five and then jokovic won his first match of course so I don't think there's any question jokovic is getting past this quarter um I don't know if he beats rublev or anyone that comes out as this next section um so let's kind of look at my fourth round on so I think Center and Paul will eat meat in the fourth round I think Center if he keeps playing well is going to get all the way to the semis um I get this one wrong so that and I think a bully lost today too didn't he oh that's been doubles where was that I think kabi lost didn't he let's take a look see where is he 31 [Music] seat um so under FAA oh they haven't played yet so um I have Cabo getting to the fourth round I don't know who his opponent will be with FAA out it could be it's probably could be konakis would be my guess uh or Daniel someone I'm not think about but I think he'll get through the quarters he's not getting past Center uh alrass should get past Corda unless he hasn't lights out night uh I think deminar will be taken out by alarz in the quarter so we have another Center alarz semifinal and then on the bottom half I have Fritz getting all the way to the semis um well this is my prediction although this one would be tougher Fritz to beat Z Zer has been playing pretty well but uh I'll give it maybe a little bias here to give it to the American um and then bottom half is is there any question it's going to be jokovic into the final so I guess the question is is it a center uh jokovic final or is it an alarz uh jokovic rematch for the fourth time this year in a major so um and then just taking a quick look at the um live scores here uh going to the women first Schneider's up one Zer nolles is losing 04 L Fernandez is up 42 tied here tolson's down down a set but she's up for two so we'll see how that goes uh Zang and rinova are split going into a third set and uh Pera is down 1 four and a third after splitting and the rest of those are already completed we talked about and as far as men's singles what do we got here Corda playset next shapo is down down uh first set 6'4 and then down or he's leading 43 and a second we'll see where that goes um meev might split a set here and Arthur Phils has split a set with tan uh Evans and cashen off that could be going into a fifth set if kof can even it up and uh we'll see if garan can push this to four or five sets um Center took out McDonald pretty easily After figuring out he was Sinner and uh yeah the rest we already talked about uh in the draw all right all right so these are my um these are my US Open predictions and where I was at and where I got wrong uh what did you do a draw where did you end up what did you think
