THAT WAS A FLOOD ADVISORY THAT'S OFFICIALLY IN EFFECT UNTIL 8:00 FOR THE GREATER HOMA AREA. BUT YOU CAN SEE THAT OBVIOUSLY THE RAIN THERE IS GETTING LIGHTER. WE STILL HAVE SOME LIGHT SHOWERS CLOSE TO NEW ORLEANS. GENTILLY A LITTLE BIT OF A SPRINKLE. LOOKS LIKE KENNER IS DRY RIGHT NOW, BUT THINGS ARE GRADUALLY GETTING DRIER FOR US AS A COLD FRONT IS GOING TO BE MOVING THROUGH LATER TODAY. GRAND ISLE BOY, YOU'VE HAD A LOT OF RAIN OVER THE LAST THREE, 4 OR 5 DAYS AND MORE RAIN ON TOP OF YOU RIGHT NOW. BUT ACROSS THE BOARD THINGS ARE GOING TO BE GETTING DRIER FOR US THE FARTHER NORTH YOU ARE, THE BETTER THE WEATHER IS GOING TO BE THIS WEEKEND. 74 OUR CURRENT TEMPERATURE RIGHT NOW AT LOUIS ARMSTRONG INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT WITH A NORTH NORTHEASTERLY WIND AT NINE. THERE'S THE COLD FRONT. SHOULD BE MOVING THROUGH LATER TODAY, HELPING TO BRING US SOME COOLER AND DRIER AIR. IT'S ALREADY GOTTEN A LOT DRIER AT THE UPPER LEVELS OF THE ATMOSPHERE, ACCORDING TO THE WATER VAPOR IMAGERY. THAT'S WHAT YOU'RE LOOKING AT RIGHT NOW. NOW THIS COLD FRONT IS GOING TO MOVE THROUGH, PROBABLY BECOMING STATIONARY RIGHT ALONG THE COASTLINE. AND THAT'S GOING TO AFFECT OUR WEATHER IN A COUPLE OF WAYS. BUT LET'S GO TO THE TROPICS BECAUSE HERE'S THE TROPICAL WAVE THAT WE'RE NOT TOO WORRIED ABOUT. THIS IS THE ONE WE'RE GOING TO BE WATCHING. IT'S ACTUALLY KIND OF CENTERED OVER THE YUCATAN RIGHT NOW. THAT'S GOING TO HELP TO BRING US SOME MORE RAIN. I THINK NEXT WEEK, THIS WAVE, ONLY A 30% CHANCE FOR DEVELOPMENT. NOTHING WE'RE CONCERNED ABOUT. NOW, THIS ONE THOUGH I THINK IS GOING TO BE MAKING ITS WAY TO THE NORTH. AND THERE'S A CHANCE 60% CHANCE FOR DEVELOPMENT OVER THE NEXT SEVEN DAYS. AND THERE'S A CHANCE IT COULD BECOME POSSIBLY A TROPICAL DEPRESSION. NOW, EVEN IF THAT HAPPENS, CHANCES OF THIS INTENSIFYING INTO ANYTHING MAJOR, VERY, VERY MINIMAL. IT'S LOCATED VERY CLOSE TO LAND. IT'S GOT A FRONT TO DEAL WITH, SOME PRETTY GOOD UPPER LEVEL WINDS IN PLACE. SO BASICALLY, WHAT'S GOING TO HAPPEN? MORE MOISTURE COMING UP REGARDLESS OF WHETHER THIS BECOMES A TROPICAL DEPRESSION OR NOT. HERE IT IS. RIGHT NOW, COMPUTER MODELS HAVE IT KIND OF COMING UP TOWARD US AND THEN MAKING ITS WAY TOWARD LOUISIANA. AGAIN, NOT VERY WELL ORGANIZED AS YOU CAN SEE ON THAT COMPUTER MODEL, BUT RAINY WEATHER IS GOING TO BE WITH US AGAIN BY LATE MONDAY. AND MUCH OF NEXT WEEK. HERE'S TODAY. CHANCE FOR RAIN DECREASING. HERE'S THE COLD FRONT RIGHT AROUND THE NOON HOUR. STILL GOING TO HAVE SOME SHOWERS CLOSE TO THE COAST EVEN BY THE DINNER HOUR. START TO SEE THE CLOUDS DECREASE A LITTLE BIT. NOW NORTH SHORE YOU COULD BE MOSTLY SUNNY FOR A GOOD PORTION OF SUNDAY. HOWEVER, WITH THAT FRONT BECOMING STATIONARY CLOSE TO THE COAST SUNDAY MORNING. A FEW SHOWERS, BUT THE GREATER NEW ORLEANS AREA, THE SUPERDOME, THE CBD SHOULD BE MAINLY DRY. I THINK FOR THE DAY TOMORROW AND THE TEMPERATURE IS GOING TO BE A FEW DEGREES COOLER. THE HUMIDITY IS GOING TO BE A LITTLE BIT LOWER AS WELL. SO THERE YOU GO. IT'S ALSO GOING TO BE BREEZY ON SUNDAY. I FORGOT TO MENTION THAT.
