Golf's Top YouTubers Face Off: Reacting to Luke Kwon’s Victory at the Creator Classic at East Lake

the Creator classic at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta Georgia was a huge success for the YouTube Golf Community I was watching there was with 114,000 other concurrent viewers on YouTube I started watching it when it started at at 4M and uh there's about 50 or 60,000 people watching and it just kept growing and growing and growing to the finale where Luke Quan drills a par putt on the final hole to make the sudden death and then he makes a birdie putt on the 18th hole to win the inaugural Creator Classic this was huge for the game of golf uh I I'm going to share my reaction and my thoughts of this event but real quick just a summary of the event um it was uh Wesley Brian Roger steel Welsh from good good and then luk Juan were the four final four uh top four players that made it into the sudden death and it came came down to a dramatic finish on the 18th hole so overall all I think it was a gigantic win I know Grant Horvat uh didn't play I saw some people in the comment section saying he was at a wedding there was actually all kind of comments of white gr Horvat wasn't playing but I just kind of saw the most common comment was he was at a wedding so I don't know um where why Grant Horvat didn't play but grick Clark played from good good uh Paige banic played the the number one followed golfer on Instagram Gabby girl uh seems like a a bright star in the the future of golf and so what I like about the content creators is is they're very relatable and so my current handicap is a six and you know when you watch um Scotty sheffler and Tiger Woods and Bryson D Shambo and all these guys I mean uh they're just so good and the content creator you can kind of relate a little bit because you know they're not they're not perfect out there but um it takes a lot of um work to to film yourself to get it edited to get it uploaded um I've been creating content in other genres um for a while and I know how much hard work it is so it's cool to see them kind of reap the reward of all all the labor that they've put in over these years of of making golf content so I thought it was a great event uh for the Golf Community I I really enjoyed watching it I honestly I only watched the Masters I I don't recall watching oh I think I watched the on the Sunday of the PJ Championship whichever one was was in Louisville Kentucky at Van Halla U I was at a party and I had watched that on Sunday um just because they had it on TV but I watch the Masters every year um love watching the Masters the whole Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday but other than that I really don't watch much Golf and when it comes to YouTube golf though I'll watch some of that I watch uh bust a jack sometimes Grant Horvat the Wesley Bros um a little bit of the good good stuff um I I've checked out some of their videos um the nek boys golf um Bob do Sports I think I've seen one or two of their videos uh the algorithm usually feeds me Grant Horvat and Wesley Bros and sometimes bust a jack that seems to be when I open YouTube what the what the algorithm feeds me and I think I watched luk Juan one time I forget he's playing a one-on-one against somebody and that's that's the first time I had seen him so anyway I was very impressed with his game down the when you have a pressure putt uh you know those are tough to make and he drilled one on on the final hole to make the playoff and he drilled one on the last hole so big congratulations to luk Juan and just a gigantic win to the YouTube Golf Community when I was in high school Tiger Woods was in the hot streak of his prime he was um I was in high school in 2000 to 2004 tiger was on the top of the golf world and golf had become so popular the the popular kids at my high School we're going out playing golf on the weekends I I I worked at the golf course I played golf in high school and I'd be like man all the coolest kids they were they were you know Saturday and Sunday they were at the golf course like that was the cool thing to do because Tiger Woods made it cool and you know a bunch of the popular kids that were out playing they were no good but they liked playing they wanted to play and it was it was like the fun cool thing to do and I would singularly credit that to Tiger Woods back in the late '90s the early 2000s and now we're seeing this gigantic Resurgence in the game of golf with the content creator documenting their Journey with golf I love Eric Lottery RNG uh he he does a little voiceovers on on uh I guess he's on a lot of platforms I watch him on Instagram sometimes and he's just hilarious um with his um his voiceovers and whatnot and I was watching those about a year ago and I was like man that's fun and and kind of got me back into the game I I I was I I literally RNG Golf and I'm watching his videos like man this guy's funny he made golf cool and some of the content creators and so I started playing um it's probably about January of this year it got me back into the game and then uh basically I started filming myself out there playing as well so um here if you're watching on YouTube Paul Jameson golf smash that subscribe button my handicap's at like a six right now I'm trying to get it down to scratch and Beyond but uh I got fine tune my game a little bit I just moved to Florida and there's some awesome golf courses down here uh but nevertheless it's my point in saying that was it was content creators making golf content that resurrected in me a desire to play golf I I played uh in high school from 2000 to 2004 and then I just stopped when I went to college and I started a lawn care business I just didn't really make it a priority or have the time to go golf and now this year because I watch golf content on YouTube and and Instagram and Tik Tok and whatnot it's it's uh ignited if you will in me a desire to get back out on the course actually got a tea time tomorrow um you know 12:36 let's go so dentist appointment in the morning tea time in the afternoon uh should be a good day but um my point is YouTube golf got personally I'm a testimony got me back in the game and I think it's doing that to hundreds to thousands to tens of thousands and it's really doing it to the youth because a lot of the people that watch this content are younger I I heard on the broadcast that the average age of a uh golf consumer is 64 like the PGA Tour fan if you will and the content creators are younger the people watching them are younger and uh I think it's great for the game of golf and uh it's just such a wonderful sport um to learn to be honest to be a gentleman and to enjoy the beautiful Outdoors um it's I absolutely love it so although the alligator down here in Florida I'm getting used to teeing off with a gator right over there I'm not used to it man first time I was saw an alligator on a course down here in Florida I was like whoa he's just sitting there right right next to the tea box or laying there I guess sunbathing so anyway thanks for watching the video um I I think the Creator classic was a huge success for the YouTube community and if you want more golf content content please smash that subscribe button hope to catch you in the next video thanks for watching
