Finish it Friday #9 : Check Out my Sloth and See the Next Project!

[Music] hi everyone it's me Terry of the yarn Joy podcast welcome back to another episode of finish it Friday happy Friday everybody I hope everybody has some great uh weekend plans whether it is activities that are going on or just planning to have a very restful chill out type of weekend um check back on Wednesday crafting with friends and I will let you know what I did over the weekend okay so finish it Friday um just as a reminder is where I put a bunch of little projects on some pieces of paper here in this little container and it is sleeping whips it is uh crochet kits that I have collected over the years and have never made any of them and so I thought this would be a fun way and to inspire me to get some of those projects done finished some of those sleeping whips that kind of I was getting kind of tired of working on them or or for whatever reason and so yeah that's what I'm doing so last week I picked out a project that said Kawai and it is from this kit right here that I've had several years uh when I ordered it I thought it was a book and it ended up being a kit which is awesome I got this off Amazon I can link it down below in the description box so the item that I picked out was from this uh it said Kawai on the paper and so I and it would be the second project that I have done from this book The F the kit the first one I did with this little dog right here and uh this kit has the yarn and everything to make this item the dog and the sloth and then the pattern book of course has patterns to make all of the other ones I think there are 12 uh 12 You Don't See on the sides 12 characters all together so anyway I decided since I've had the yarn still for uh that was included in the kit uh I decided to do the sloth right here and so that's what I did now I intended on making it a backpack buddy by putting a keychain clip on it just like I did the dog and you know what I forgot so it's going to be more like a pocket pal or a backpack pal you can carry on the inside I did uh use their advice and put pipe cleaners in the arms and I think in the legs yeah in the arms and legs so you can kind of pose him I don't know I was thinking well maybe you could wrap his arms and legs around a pencil or something well with the child writing you know but uh I don't know if my pipe cleaners are strong enough to do that maybe if I would have doubled it up well I did double up the pipe cleaner but I think maybe if I would have put two pipe cleaners in there twisted together make it a little Bit Stronger hold I'm not sure but you can pose it okay so let's go ahead I'll show you my finished sloth there is my sloth like I said I totally forgot to put the keychain clip in there I could have did it after the fact I've done that before I do like to attach it where you can uh tie it on the inside you know while I'm still making it uh but um I just decided not to I mean like I said I can put it on there but I decided not to anyway I thought it was cute I have his arm raised but see as you can see you can uh pose the arms pretty well there you know there is a pipe cleaner down there inside uh in the arms and the legs as well he will sit up if you have it you know if you have him sitting just right he will sit up so anyway there is my sloth from this kit okay and now since I am finished with that that means that I can go ahead and pick the next Pro next project for finish it Friday out of this little container so let's go ahead and do that now the the paper the Kawaii paper I did put it back in here so that way because there's more characters for me to make just like some of the other kits that I have in here so but if I pick it today I will pick another one because I don't want to do two from the same kit you know in a row so okay let's go ahead and pick [Music] one okay I got this paper out here let's see what it is I had to I had to I had picked more than I I mean when I picked it up there was two stuck together so let's go ahead and pick again because I want to make sure I just pick one okay okay let me feel before looking yep that's just one okay so let's see what this is oh it's the doxen kit okay so let me get that and I'll explain what this is okay so this doxen kit it's this one right here now I attempted I got this kit off of Amazon and it came with the yarn and and you know everything I needed but the yarn was this weird yarn it was very strange it was it was almost like a it wasn't yarn I mean it was like a I don't know what you call it if it had it had little like it was squishy it had like a squishy insert inside of it like a rope is type thing I don't know but it was very very hard to work with um the hook that they wanted me to use was a very small hook and it was really hurting my hands I like it I think it's really cute it's got color working there to get that under piece there the the color uh I was enjoying making it but like I said it was really hurting my hands to make it and so I just decided this is just too hard so I stopped working on it but I I saved the pattern I got rid of that whatever that stuff was they want me to crochet with I got rid of it um I'm like I'm no I'm not going to use this and so what I'm going to do is I'm going to use my own yarn and make it that way because I think it's such a cute little kit and I was looking really looking forward to making it um I'll have to look to see where I put all the pieces cuz the safety eyes and everything came I'm not even sure what I did with it isn't that awful okay so I'll have to look for it to see otherwise I will use my own safety eyes and everything and yeah I'll do that anyway so cute such a cute pattern look at that a't that cute so I'm really anxious to do this I don't know if I'll use it use um worsted weight yarn or DK W yarn I'm not sure see cuz I have some worsted W yarn that really dark chocolate color I think it's called coffee Red Heart Super Saver and I'll have to see as far as my DK wet yarn if I have a yarn that's about that color I don't know we'll see I'll look at the Stitch counts because I don't want it to turn out really extra big but um I'll just have to see I guess you'll find out so let's see so I have that I think everything is kind of yeah it's a lot of pieces is sew on but I I'm of course I'm sure it's going to be really cute when I get finished with it and I'm sure it will be worth all of those separate pieces uh yeah so I'm thinking I'll be able to get this done in a week I don't have a whole lot of other projects right now at at the moment for me uh but we'll see so hopefully I will get it done by next week that way Friday I can pick out another project if not then then I'll just show a progress report on it and I will keep going you know keep on going with it anyway so this is what I'm going to do I'll I'll try to link it down below in the description box I did get it off of Amazon I believe I'll have to look at my order history but I think that's where I got it and like I said I think the pattern is going to be super cute I just did not like the yarn that they gave me to use you know so yeah okay so that is my next project for finish it Friday so be looking forward uh looking for that the end of next week on Friday and I'll I'll show you if I get it done or you know completely finished or not I think so okay so now I don't have to put this is the only one I have is well it's not a kit but I I I won't put this back in there because I'm doing it now so this paper will be coming out and you know I found another kit and I can't even remember if I've got it in here so I may be adding adding to this because I've got a couple other kits in there and I don't remember if I put it in I don't think I put them in there to draw out from so I'll be probably adding to that okay so seal up the box okay and this will be the the um project I'm going to be starting okay so I hope you're having a wonderful day and have a great weekend
