Incredible start from the rookie last night. Perfect game into the seventh. He jinxed him. He did jinx. There's no such thing as it's your fault. Jinxed him. Well, first of all, I put out a tweet after the fifth inning and he gave up the perfect game in the seventh inning. So you, you text us perfect game after that was Jay that texted. Jay said that I thought that wasn't me. Let me check the car. That was the rare Jay Crawford popping. Ok, I apologize. But I first of all, it just tells you how bad the White Sox are because Joey Cantillo has not looked good once with the Guardians and he looked like a Cy Young award winner there against the White Sox. I mean, 10 of them things. I am not exaggerating here that the White Sox are the worst team in the history of baseball. What's the worst record ever in modern history? Because anything that happened like in the 18 hundreds, you don't even know if those teams were in the majors, they would change the league in the modern history of baseball. The worst record ever was for the 1962 expansion, New York Mets, they were an expansion team, at least that was somewhat of an excuse. They finished 4120 we're at a 39. So, no, no, no White Sox got like 33 and 112. So they've got a, they played, they have 17 games left. They're going to lose way more than 120. I mean, they're going to lose 125 they could lose 128. I mean, every game, the rest of 40 games out of fourth place. This is a historic, yes, they're going to set the record. Zach Bisl who went to Chicago for this series. We did the Guardian show this morning. He's actually writing an article this week. He interviewed some white Sox fans. Like, why do you still come to the games? Because there was no, they announced the attendance at 11,000. He said at best, there was 4000 people there and most of them were Guardians fans that had traveled for the game. Uh, but Cantillo pitched great. I was asking at the end of the fifth inning because I was getting preemptively pissed off at the Guardians because last week the Cubs had a pitcher, Shoda Imana, right? He had a no hitter through seven and they pulled him out of the game with a no hitter, pulled him out of the game and the Cubs got a combined no hitter, which I don't care about. It's irrelevant. It shouldn't even count as a no hitter. So I tweeted, ok, be prepared. The Guardian is going to pull this guy out with a perfect game. They're gonna do it. Did you say that? I mean, yes, go read my tweets there. They were going to pull him out. So he had that perfect game with two outs in the seventh inning. He had already thrown 9192 pitches somewhere around there to get through the game. If it was a perfect game, he was going to throw over 100 pitches. He's never thrown more than 85. I don't think there is no way he will get the chance to potential. And that would have been a disgrace if they had pulled his vote after the game said, I don't know, I don't, well, he said, I don't know. It was in the press conference where he told Zach this that he was relieved when Cantillo lost the perfect game with two outs in the. So let me ask you the question. We have to have a tough decision in order to take him out or it's a perfect game, even if you're thinking that I'm going to ask you this question is, is there any data that says if you throw over 100 pitches that you're gonna get hurt? So there's been a lot of studies done on this. No, there's nothing specific to exactly 100 what I would say for those who argue that well, because I think it's an arbitrary number and I think all people's arms are built differently. Here's the bottom line though. Guys, they're more, they're more conservative than they ever when it comes to pitchers. And yet we have more pitching injuries than ever than ever than ever. I assume when a guy, first of all, part of that is because everybody throws so hard now, like when I was a kid, there was, there was like one or two guys on every team that threw in the high nineties, maybe. Now you maybe have two pitchers on the whole roster who don't throw it at least 95. Uh And so that's part of the reason there's so many injuries, they have so many things they could do, like with computers now, they work on these guys spin rates the way they release the ball, it's effing up all their elbows. I mean, that's what's going on here. You see certain teams that's consistently getting pitching injuries. The Guardians are one of them. The Tampa Bay Rays are one of them is always, I assume when a guy like Paul schemes who's the rookie with the Pirates guy's fantastic. He's the best young pitcher we've seen in, in a long time. I'm just assuming at some point three years is going to have Tommy John surgery. It just happens. It's almost every pitcher. And so if you got a no hitter and not even a no hitter, a perfect game. They didn't take him out, but they would have like, what's the max amount of pitches this guy? I mean, I think a guy can go 100 and 50. They do it all the time. I literally letting their pitchers go over a 10 year old. If he goes over 150 why is it not? You just make them miss their next start. If you throw 100 and 50 pitches, we're going to sit you for seven days or like the next time out throw 70 Joey Canti. I don't care if he pitches right, shut him down the rest of the year and he wasn't going to throw 150 but he might have had to throw 120. Tell me that guy Joey Canti who is just kind of kind of a middle of the road guy, right? He's still young. He hasn't pitched. This could be the night of his career. This man had 15 strikeouts before last night. That's it. And we're worried about it. He has a P, he hasn't pitched that much. I wish there's a guy pitched for the White Sox in a lot of years ago and there is zero chance that anybody besides me has heard of this guy, maybe 0.1% of our audience has heard of him. His name is Philip Humber. I'm assuming none of you have heard of this. He could be making it up. All right. Philip Humber pitched a perfect game for the White Sox. I don't remember what year it was. I think it was in the nineties. I can't remember what year, but I remember him because he was a top prospect of the Yankees. He got moved to the White Sox. He pitched a perfect game and then he was basically out of baseball two seconds. Oh, is that recent? I don't even remember what, that's how memorable he was. He pitched a perfect game. Like he's, he's been nothing in the history of baseball. Nothing. How many, how many, what's his career? Er, a Mike five. hold on one second. That it doesn't even matter, it doesn't even matter. That guy will have that moment though. For the whatever town he lives in, whatever town he lives in, in America. Everybody. This is Philip Humber. Perfect. Perfect. Perfect. Perfect hum for a reason. You know why? Perfect game. So they end up? Perfect. Hum. Is your perfect plumber? That's career? Er, a 5 31 5 31. His whip. 152. Yeah, I mean, I sucked Jinx but that one day he was amazing. Dallas Braden was like that Braden was, do you think they would have to pull a perfect game that makes it to the majors compared to other major? Too strong with your suck? Yeah, that's a problem. You double pause. That was like a triple. Do you think that he would have pulled them 100%. He would have pulled them. Why else would he have said? II, I was a relief that he lost the perfect game because he knew he was gonna have to pull him. He was gonna pull him after that, after that seventh inning, he was gonna pull him. That's the case. You don't say that you would have left him in. How's that dude's confidence now? He's like, well, shit, man. My, my coach was hoping I'd give up the perfect game so he didn't have to make the decision. I mean, that, that's sucks. And it, you know, listen, I love baseball. Uh You know, and, and obviously football is way past baseball in terms of the most popular sport in America. But what made it so popular back in the day was the records and the moments like that that are hard to get. We don't remember, you know, nobody would when I was a kid. I, I didn't know who's the all time passing leader. I didn't know who a lot of these. I probably didn't even know as a kid that Jim Brown was the all time rushing leader. I probably didn't even know that. But you knew the home run champ, you knew the single season home run champ. You knew the year career home run champ. You knew when guys pitch perfect games and no hitters and that's all gone. Now, I'm going to tell you this, the reason why people got a problem with baseball is you guys l in to I asked you guys yesterday who's the greatest baseball player? When you say you guys the baseball gatekeeper, I'm speaking of you people, Jay and Bull and Lord. The fact that the best baseball player, you guys unequivocally say really quickly is a tai, the fact that y'all lucked into him and you refuse to even try to find another one is an indictment. Well, first of all, don't blame me for that. They won, they won even let them try. They're like, you can't hit him. You can, we're not gonna do that. That's actually not completely true. There are a couple of other guys who are in the minors. There's one guy with Tampa, I can't think of his name right now that they were trying with him and he, and he flamed out. I can't think of his name because he didn't even make it to the majors. And there's a couple of guys that have been drafted recently, but generally you're right. We had a pitcher last year that got traded here from the Mets. They was calling him like Thor or something like that. He had a home run or something when he was a pitcher for a pitcher. He was, he wasn't like the kid, get out of Florida. The kid out of Florida hit 40 home runs and the pitcher C Leone, right? When we asked all the scouts, the scouts was like they're not, they're not going to let him. We didn't really talk much about the game. The Guardians did, they did beat the White Sox 53. Obviously, he pitched great. We got Ben lively going. They got to sweep the White Sox. Usually never say you got to sweep in baseball. You got to sweep the White Sox because they're trash. I need a great, the magic number to clinch a playoff spot is eight, the ma magic number to clinch the division is 15 a win. And you know, so if they win a number comes off that if the Royals lose a number comes off that they are playing a four game, they only have five road games left two more with the White Sox. Then they got a, an eight game home stand and three in Saint Louis and then they got another, I think five game home stand at the end of the year. So there you go.
