[Music] we got the battle for Atlanta this weekend just one week after upsetting Florida State in Ireland of all places the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets the rambl wreck they're going to host the Georgia State Panthers at 8:00 p.m. eastern time on the ACC Network Georgia Tech is a 20 and a half Point favorite that's down just to touch Georgia State money line is plus 850 and the total at bet us 55 A2 implied score here is 38 to 17 and a half let's talk about these helmets right quick we'll be fast with it I love the Georgia State helmets with the panther logo uh but the Classic GT is cool too Kyle tell me your favorite I like both of these I think this is a tough one I'm gonna go with the panther definitely both of these are good Parker what about you I like the panther I think I think I'm gonna go with George sech though uh Panthers Panther's not bad nice nice understated touch of red there too is always appreciated always good all right Georgia State dating back to 2021 they are 10 and four against the spread as a road dog and for as good as Georgia Tech has been as an underdog look I mean as a as a home favorite they are only two and 11 against the spread that is not great one and four against the spread as a favorite of 20 or more uh in their last five in that role Now new coaches all that good stuff we understand but uh you start looking at some of these other Trends FBS teams playing another FBS team that's already played on the season 6034 or 60 and 34 that's 63.8% since 2005 that includes four- one against the spread last season Kyle let me start with you I mean this is one team that's already played that has a top 10 win under their belt uh then they got a travel 4,000 plus miles and you've got another team that's waiting on them with an entirely new coaching staff a ton of transfers tell me how you're breaking this one down Birds attack feeling great about themselves like why why would you be worried about little Georgia State you know you just took care of business against Florida State situational spot handicappers everywhere this is your dream like this this is the perfect setup if you like situational spots the issue here is what on Earth are we supposed to make of Georgia State you know McGee is a good coach like the higher hired late real disadvantage talent wise not that good um I think B uh fauler Buster Falkner is great and Georgia Tech Will score so can Georgia State score enough to stick around that's kind of the question for me um I am absolutely supposed to bet Georgia State in this game it's supposed to happen the sharp side will be Georgia State I don't think I can quite take them without seeing it first and I thought this line was going to go to like 24 if it went to 24 I would have bet Georgia State hold the nose let's see what happens um I think Ian Georgia State first half in this game uh you know thinking that there could be some hangover carryover from uh the the long travel not having a bye uh it's kind of an unknown but I I think that in this spot at 20 and a half it takes some uh guts we'll say to take Georgia State in a spot like this Parker I'm excited about the Del McGee show in Atlanta for Georgia State but tell me what you see here yeah I lowkey love the idea of just like let's hire a guy that can get talent in here we don't have talent we have a coach who wants to do something el else with his life let's get a football guy who can who can really work the Atlanta Talent um Pipeline and and kind of get us some dudes in there Zack Gibson is your starting quarterback if like the most exciting thing in the entire world CJ Beasley from Coastal Carolina is interesting just a kind of Gadget player who could be in a lot of different places so I think there's some fun potential pieces I do think that the Del McGee experience is going to take a little bit to ramp up um overall I'll be quick here uh I I I think with Georgia state's rushing defense last year they were what like 85th in rushing EPA allowed um pretty pretty rough there overall gewi Tech is going to run uh a lot you imagine they want to stay healthy and just get the win here with the pace of how they're going to run it seems hard for them to cover this entire spread so just on Pace alone I think I would lean Georgia State where their offense isn't going to be very good George te defenses run heavy uh and so the clock will be moving a lot but uh I don't I don't love trusting Georgia State in this spot but I do think there's a very strong argument that it's Georgia State uh for me especially with the let down potential for for George Tech the the tech offens coordinator Buster fauler that that Kyle mentioned deserves a lot of credit right he schemed up uh Florida State's Ultra aggressive pass rushers just completely out of the game uh he basically countered their their defensive line to death sanui the new defensive coordinator actually fixed some of the tackling issues like I was surprised at that I mean it was very quick but nobody knows what this version of Georgia state's going to look like and we're in a clear Sandwich Spot for Tech right let down after a top 10 upset and a look ahead before going to conference fo Syracuse next week toss on you know 4,000 plus miles of travel with no bye in between then you toss in I mean Parker you mentioned Zack Gibson Zack Gibson started multiple games for Brent key at Georg de just a couple years ago like I I like how this one sets up I I liked it more at 22 where I bet it but I'm I'm going to let it ride here I still feel good about the 20 and a half yes it's through the the 21 I get it but I I feel like this one might end up being a you know couple of touchdowns just get out of Dodge kind of game uh so I'm going to go ahead and lock it in I'm going to take Georgia State plus the 20 and a half in Atlanta on this Saturday all right we're [Music] [Music]
