2024 from Calgary [Music] Alberta most people know me by Andy I'm 32 with a bachelor's degree in Communications I'm a marketing consultant a Model A volunteer and an entrepreneur I'm a plant mom who loves to hike and I'm in love with p fashion is life from designing and making clothes to stying ensembles or walking the runway I utilize the art of fashion as a medium to storytelling a means to express myself or a story in my head a visual to my imagination or a hint to my mood but sometimes fashion can also be a defense mechanism that quick cover up for our less desirable versions growing up I was always tired maybe because of my love for dancing but probably more because I wore way too many hats as a student a big part of my upbringing is the value education especially after losing my dad at 8 years old but my mom was there always supportive although it took her some time to make amends when I started joining small pageants in some farflung Village but she came around eventually I lost my best friend when my mom passed away I left home with a broken Soul wandering from one country to another but then Canada came to my refuge it's been a tough ride since but it's good to be with family and finally have a place to call home navigating the struggles as a transom in the Philippines Singapore Dubai and Canada is not just a cultural fatigue but also a realization that debating our differences and Noble pursuit of acceptance would take us that far World equality only starts to matter if we switch our focus more on defending the rights that affects us all such as equal access to health care especially for the lgbtq plus Community we must ensure that education and transgender health is available in having access to Safe medication and gender affirming Services is a fundamental right working with Alberta Healthcare Services the University City of Calgary and skipping Stone I've been learning about the different efforts we can be part of to protect our rights something I would really like to share to the world and hope for tangible results one of my proudest accomplishments is my recent stint in the queen of Canada pageant where I also got the chance to walk from my very first Pride Parade it was a surreal experience but winning the crown that night was just a bonus because the real rewarding part that night is that that night we are visible I was there standing with my newfound sisters celebrated by our family and friends seen in our most authentic selves and bearing our stories to tell they say if your dreams don't scare you you're not dreaming big enough well to be a part of the upcoming Miss International Queen honestly scares me I'm really thankful for the platform and I'm very excited to meet the rest of the girls from all over the world but I'm scared because from a nobody I'm suddenly representing my country and my community then I go back to the reason why I'm doing this to emphasize to the world that regardless of our personal beliefs healthc care is a basic right not a privilege so knowing that I have a strong advocacy not only sets me apart but also instantly makes me feel like this will all be worth it after all we're all human a professional stylist the first transgender woman a student in the University Ono in San Miguel City also in the past I was working as receptionist for 6 years in a government agency I came a long way and for that I am so proud of [Music] myself I believe in work equality because I think it is the solution of the social problems for me a country with human right respector is the best example of equality and equality is support our people without distinction of race sexual orientation gender identity and political affiliation remember that from the moment you are born you are automatically a citizen of this beautiful world El Salvador government doesn't have any respect for transhuman rights there is no legal protection and remarkable number of discrimination violence and even murderous cases toward work my transgender sister are reported annually we are human we vote and we pay taxes that's why my petition to the Salvadorian government is they have to start working in favor of LGBT community not against it and also with conditioning to pass a gender identity love for Trans people plus to create a legislation against the [Music] Discrimination I feel so glad to be part of Miss International Queen because this amazing platform help the contest to get the necessary empowerment to be able forward in our goals I said a lot of success examples in histories of X queens now they 14 years old that time growing up in a small town of kalayaan Laguna pursuing this dream seemed nearly impossible especially with the fear of revealing my true gender identity to my family and friends when a pageant was announced in my town I was encouraged by my elder sister who's also a transgender to join Bey pageants at 17 I competed in my first pageant expressing my true self this not only allowed me to live my dream but also support my family financially then my grandmother was diagnosed with chronic illness I juggled multiple jobs to support her Thrice quickly dialysis treatments selling skin care products and shoes endorsing products and competing in pageants at night it was tough but necessary losing her broke my heart and left me feeling lost and empty despite the hardships I knew I had to keep pursuing my dreams not just for myself but for my loved ones too although I didn't win on my first attempt at Miss International Queen Philippines I was determined to return stronger winning the title changed everything I felt renewed and empowered to work with organizations like love yourself Philippines working on empowerment HIV AIDS awareness trans health and Global of America at the age of 10 from the Philippines as a child I didn't have much socks growing up whenever I would find a pair I would cut them up and turn them into doll dresses let's just say socks weren't a practical necessity for me but rather a canvas for my creativity being persistent and ingenious at a very young age I was able to plant the seeds to become the entrepreneur I am to today I am a fashion designer a model an Entertainer a host a brand ambassador and an advocate for mental health before the spotlight I've had to overcome many adversities I remember other kids praying for video games and toys and I was praying for my life to end I was bullied a lot for being so different in high school I became a victim of sexual abuse twice by two different people however I refus to from the University of Puerto Rico Ras campus and I am currently working as a social media manager and content coordinator for a nonprofit organization called translucent Clinic that brings services for the trans community in Puerto Rico I feel that being an activist is one of the things that I feel the most proud about because I started and I was most active in when I was a very young person during my teenage years when I was in school I feel very proud of this because it didn't only open doors for me as a transform in my country but I feel that the things that I achieved through that process has helped me help other people in my country when I was 17 years old I made part of a very important lawet in my country that allowed myself and other trans people to correct our gender Mark in our birth certificates for me this was something that validated who I am as a citizen in my country but also it was a way for me to demonstrate not just to myself but the people around me that it is important for us to exist in the most genuine way I feel very honored to be part of the Miss International Queen 2024 because for me this is a platform to be to bring a message that goes beyond me and that goes beyond my country but a message that goes to the entire world I feel that platforms like these bring us the opportunity to to help a community that for many many years has been oppressed and has been silenced and I I feel that this is a moment and opportunity for me to to bring a message that can transform the world I want to be a role model for all the young little girls out there that someday could be in the same position that I am right now I was the Leer girl many years ago and I know how it feels like to have a dream that maybe a lot of people think it's too big to make possible but I have demonstrated myself many many times that if I work hard for the things I believe and the things that I dream I can achieve them but I have to live with love and I have to do things because I want to do something that is bigger that Miss Universe foro was for me a platform as well to not only expose my social cause but also to make history actually I was the first trans woman to compete in the kajan and it was a very very beautiful experience for me I felt that I grew a lot as a woman during that process and I that I developed so many skills such as leadership and I learned so many things I met so many inspiring woman during that process and to be open to to be able to be in that platform and open do for other people and other woman like me specifically was really something that I feel very proud of and it's it was an amazing experience I want to give special thanks to Arana Center for being part of my preparation to the Miss International Queen I feel that organizations like this are really important for us trans people and for LGBT people in general because they give us tools and they give us the empowerment we need to achieve the things that that we to come out to my dad cuz my dad passed away when I was 8 years old I started my transition medically and physically when I lived in Dubai it was um a pretty tough knowing um Dubai is a Muslim country so it's really hard to um have access with um medication and all but thankfully um Canada became my refuge Canada is pretty open and they have program they have in place it was um tough mentally of course it was like going through another um puberty so you have to be aware of your mood swings and the changes in your body you have to be patient actually because it takes time hi my name is saana Molina I am Miss International Queen El Salvador well I started very young my transition when I started not too much information about TR Health a little difficult I was trying to express myself but I was looking doctors looking for any information safe information but I didn't get that's why I take oror by myself I st my life back and oh my God a lot of challenges for transgender woman hello my
