e [Music] [Applause] [Laughter] yeah with set match seven ler [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] take together a [Music] [Music] oh [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] ready [Applause] play hello and welcome back to another talking tennis stream on the first day of the 2024 US Open uh today you're joining us for the the first round match between Madison Keys and Katarina sakova that's just got underway I believe at some point I'll be joined by Damen but for now it's it's just me watching this match and hopefully covering it for you all to to enjoy um Saka serving in this first game 40 love it's an interesting one this I mean obviously Keys is a former finalist here was so close to reaching the final last year against sabalenka um and but it's not been so straightforward for H her in recent months you know uh retired when wooden has only played one match since then in Canada and also retired due to a leg problem so it'll be interesting to see if she can overcome those injuries and if she's feeling fresh but Sak is not particularly a nice draw for anyone in the first round i' been a fantastic doues player possibly the best dou player in the world um and always a challenging singles player so yeah it would not been a a welcome draw for keys I'm sure but she's about to to start her first service game at one love down and we'll we'll see how this this match goes M Keys is the uh the 14th seed and got a lot of points to defend from reaching the semi-finals last year um just people coming into the chat hi Sport and politics hope you're okay ke still yet to get a point on the board back hand to the net there after a deep return from sakova I mean how's everyone find in the US Open so far the early days but it's been some decent matches not too many surprises yeah I wouldn't say but some some points of not obviously teams played his his final have a grand slam match final match the US Open um straight sets to defeat to Ben Shelton you've had Maria sakur losing in the first round well she retired in the first round and it's another por and get Grand Slam obviously this time is a bit more out for control due to a shoulder problem but Keys really needs to get on the board here but and she does s putting uh back hand wide into the trem lines yeah Sport and politics showing his his sadness at Zachary's injury yeah it's it's been a rough year I mean still in the top 10 but it's uh it's not been a fun year for the Greek if they haven't Frozen too much they I mean does have some strapping on that leg but she doesn't seem too restricted by her movement so far as she gets it back to 30 or sorry 4030 and now it's game and she's on the board uh a gamer piece hi Ashley thanks for joining us I'm kind of intrigued to know if anyone wants to put their neck on the line in the in the the chat and and say if they've got anyone a surprise winner a surprise finalist if they've done any predictions if they've got a dark horse anyone uh could stick the neck out of the line and have a dark course I mean I think I don't think it's a particularly bold shot but I've got pal BSA going quite deep and she's just uh she's just got have pass round win quite comfortably over Victoria goich Sport and politics has gone for keys in this match but it does feel R yeah yeah I I personally would seen AR but I think it could go either way I think my pick was more based off ke's recent injuries Ashley think it's be really close yeah it definitely could be I mean Keys has got a big I think she'll rely on that but Sak is is definitely a gritty player and really fights the producer saying about isar could be a dark course I mean I I think with her first round draw she kind of has to be a bit of a dark course she's a wild card a Peno first round so yeah the the kind of stacking against her a bit but she also does a lot pedigree at this tournament as a two-time champion actually uh recommend people to watch joint Maya joint I believe the Australian I know she was winning because she beat laara segund I don't know if anyone could update me I should probably get some of the scores up Bol I think Ashley thinking bol's G have a Deep Run I know she's in the same section as Pula so that could be tricky but she has beaten Pula before also in the same section as Rik CaRu inur at 315 in her second service game now at 30 or oh no Lara Sigman has fought back as someone mentioned my joint but my joint still only one game away but it's a juice currently so yeah this is interesting I mean you do see a lot of new names OB qualifiers are always a threat as particular em showed a few years ago some match on the surface previously and hits a nice forand there to fend off the first break point for keys and now we're at juice I mean it's not in the women's St but I've also got Mato arnaldi going quite deep he's in quite an open section I think it's the same section as deor and a lot of people are not sure how to predict deor really with um his recent injury struggles and he's got a tough first round against Marcus Chiron but he he could come out fly but I've not gone tooo big on deor at this tournament despite it being such a good year for the Australian and Ashley uh Adam Walton he's better Adam Walton yeah the Australian he's had a decent year also and sen AR does come through that game despite facing a breakpoint opportunity for Keys 21 toon so I mean I think for me I think this could be a good match the main thing I'm hoping for is keys to come through unscathed regardless of the outcome even that Keys has only played one match since wion where she retired and has also retired in Toronto due to her leg issues was this has probably been one of her most successful tournaments and in the final was very close to reaching the final last year so she's always going to be a threat it's just Fitness providing and yeah Ashley saying about Chris Eubanks could be a shock I mean yeah it's definitely it's been a tough ride for Chris Eubanks since he reached the quarterfinals of wooden but he's a a wild card and had a decent I think a decent weaken wi in Salem so yeah I believe that um in the men STW there the first seat to go today was Alexander Buck against the very talented Chinese player and J Chang Shang Jerry Shang as many call him also got a pelker and MTI currently in a tiebreak I mean it's kind of no surprise to see um a pela in a tiebreak given his serving prowess how ashle asking how many games does Novak go tonight I mean just refresh my memory on who he's playing cuz I know um ALR is playing leag two uh jovic is playing Rell but of course yes um I think robot's not I don't think he'll win a set but I don't think he's he's not get pushed overall I could see it being a close first closest first set and then jovic coming through more comfortably I it is jovic's first match since uh the Olympics so it might take him a bit time to get back into it mot actuallyy asking what do I know about him he's he's been around for a while I don't know quite how old he is but he's obviously from mova which is uh it's obiously not a nation you see very often in um in tennis he is he's 34 so um he's he's used to be in the top 40 and he has a career title that came in Turkey nearly 10 years ago he won Grand Slam mat is yes he believe yeah he's won quite a few he's actually let me just have a quick look yeah he's been in the third round of a couple slams including here back in 2017 obviously never I think jovic is just another another level and he's be so confident after his Olympic title win a double fault there from keys but she's still got another game point opportunity 4030 it's kind of interesting jovic I mean you could argue that he's the best result possibly of his career in the Olympics he said that it's one of the biggest of his career um definitely of his is the season will he be full of confidence going into this or will he have almost built up so much to that moment of winning the Olympic gold and now it's kind of what else can he do but it's it's jovic and there's always something another Milestone it's a 25th Grand Slam on the line for him he could become the first man to defend the the US Open singles title since Roger feder in 2008 I believe and we're at juice now as Keys reaches slices it Sak going for the lob but Keys swats it away with a nice smash there I mean Kei doesn't seem too hampered movement wise yet I mean she moved quite well in that point just against a player who's got good movement very good at the net just why def case but she gets the second Ser in and Sako is long so we're at two it's been a fairly well there's been one break point chance for for keys but it's been fairly routine so far actually think it's be six4 keys I don't think it's going to be a one-sided set at least this first one I mean it's not they do look both a little bit KY s ARA can be a bit wild but at the same time she could also play some fantastic tennis and I think so far it's just you know it's the first round of a slam there's always going to be nerves and particularly for Keys a home major s and surprisingly playing doubles as well with this with Taylor Townsen who she was Wimbledon with I it does kind of feel like Sak could play with anyone and win a grand slam I reckon maybe even she could pick me and maybe we'd go on to win the mixed Devils who knows but yeah she's so good at the doubles court and has impressed on Singles Court from time to time but just not necessarily at the Grand Slams um I believe sakov does have a title on surface which not many players do I mean eager doesn't so it shows how difficult that is to DOA needs to be careful here she's at love 30 on her own serve and currently has a second serve at this point and that is long so ke has got a big chance now three break points and really putting pressure on the Sak serve now I mean could argue that Sak put pressure on our own serve really with double faults and it's now a second serve so pressure really on the check player so was in but they're going back fourth both playing it quite that was close to the line and keys takes the break yeah so a break to love there for Madison Keys and she's got the early Advantage I was I was looking at the head-to-head before the match I mean it's only their second meeting with Kei winning that only previous at Rand GTH so not really too much to go off in that regard but yeah it's definitely key getting the the ear advantage and it doesn't seem to be too much bothering her in the way of the the leg but obviously it's more pry as the match goes on I meak is a fighter so if K want to get this done probably as quick as possible really start to you know work her way into this tournament I don't quite know what path she's on I I think she could be on to reach play sa lanker at some point in the draw maybe fourth round I forget but I think it's that sort of section e thanks for tuning in to this watch along while this a break in Play here's a reminder to hit the like button subscribe and click that notification Bell your support helps to keep the out on all things tennis I'm back everyone uh yeah a bit of a a technical uh difficulty but in the time that I've been gone Keys has held Ser very comfortably and is now 42 up in this first set and just as I was mentioning I don't know if anyone actually heard it because I could have been disconnected but my my joint has beaten Lara Sigman the friend of the show so surprising result there from the the qualifier yeah back to the the match we're focusing on today um s taking the point there after a short ball from keys but yeah I mean it's it's so fun the start of a grand slam so much is going on it's hard to to keep up really but it's what makes the sport so good actually quite I think part me actually prefers the start of a major compared to to um further down the line when it gets a bit sparse in terms of matches I think B especially as a Brit as well it's it's rare that we these days that we have people going deep so yeah our producer just pointing out um very interesting second round match in the men single STW as uh both Mato bartini and Taylor Fritz won today they'll be facing in the second round I mean that that could be I think Ted Fritz has to be the favorite but bartini has been in decent form in in the last couple of months so yeah it's going to be no walk in the park for Fritz Saka 45 team on second serve looking to win a game yeah so that's a good forehand from from sakova to to take the game and keep herself within touching distance at 4-3 but keys still does have that what important break Advantage yeah just going through some of the results today if anyone's interested so you got kers Baya beating Brit Yan chinsky in five sets Yan chinsky came back from two sets down but couldn't take the fifth um Mitchell Krueger beating Hugo gr Ugo H beating Thiago Montero ver beating Mara bautist beating Nardi Shang beating public in five sets public being the first seed to go in the men's draw today strier losing in for commas Shelton beating Dominic team teams last grand slam match bartini beating Ramos fineas rude beating and chti Buu uh Montreal champion poer and beating sunu Kuan Ru Blan ZB filch and Fritz beating Ugo Carabelli the the rest of the matches today are currently ongoing in the men's draw in the women's draw some of the results so far today you've got kazakina beaten jacn Christian Yola neemi beaten dianaa which is a surprise yr a seed so that's a good result for y Nea the former wiing quarterfinalist um Erica and dver beating yuu Wan Spina com back beat Maria Carla veic beating K barl yeah unfortunately Yan Wang uh not unfortunately the F for Yan Wang but Yan Wang in the first against sakur before sakur was forced to to retire with a shoulder problem chinan Jen com back to beat Anissa MOA Parry beating Wang xiu Min beating Magdalene frck kalinina beating dodan BSA beating golly [ __ ] and Maria Inon Sierra Go I mean there's been a lot of talk about go but she brushed past um varara crer who can be tricky and my joint qualifier being Lara Sigman that's getting up to speed with all the results so far today as we tune back into um this match between Madison Keys and C Sak of 435 all Sak getting the return back in there but forehand from the the check player goes into the net and keys just keep ticking things along here I mean I wouldn't say it's been outstanding for the American but it's been enough I don't think Sak has quite found a rhythm yet so Kei is using her serve and her power to overwhelm the the the former the senar in this match so far asley going really big on my joint given a praise but just as I talk about ke is Ser she hits a double F and it's second of the match I mean k h too but sakov has hit five so far so it's it's not been best for either play it in terms of keeping the serve in it's a lot of double faults given it's only the eighth service game in this match that's a nice forand there from Madison Keys and uh she's 4030 up with a game point to put herself within one game away of taking this first set and that yeah a long return from s arov has really not found her Rhythm so far it'd be interesting to see the unforced error stats if I could have a quick look now n yor has got to to serve to stay in this first set it's been it's been a quick set um not very long rallies a lot it feels like a lot of Errors um yeah I mean in eight games Sak was hit 11 and four stars and Kei has actually hit nine but the difference is the but ke has hit eight winners compared to was three that's a nice point in there from sakova yeah on the screen you can see that match in preview we've seen bartini and Fritz that's be very exciting and with obviously bartin's ranking falling in to injury over the last year he's not seeded so it's it's kind of not a nice draw for him but it's also not a nice draw for Taylor Fritz as the number one American is home slam and there's another double fault there for S I think the sixth now in uh her fifth service game yes it's not been good unfor from ke I mean yeah is I was looking forward to this match and there still obviously a lot of time but it's been it's been messy so far is how I describe it it's a much better serve there from s AR ke couldn't get it back into play and she's now 415 nland causing a bit of uh Mischief in the the chat as always but that's what we love to see s getting the hold there and uh yeah so keys does have to serve this first out but s need to re those errors and perhaps bring in the margins and because Keys hasn't been short of Errors herself so yes you did actually you did say six4 so you could be on something there hurry it d I'm not sure I could have a look at the order of play so much going on it's really easy to lose track see Harriet Dart British player so is's a bit of Interest particularly from my part I think a lot of people perhaps watching this Harriet D not sure what court she's on oh she was Court 16 she's third on Al so she's after the Müller and walon match if anyone's interested in that one Nan not really picking up kova there but kova has taken the first set against Mertens which to be honest given K's recent record especially at gr slams is not bad going Keys tries to serve this first set and that was a good start serve that could not be returned from sen a wild return for S but I think a lot of it had to do with the power of Madison Keys's so she goes 30 Lev up just the serves that she needs in this first set s's returned that time but ke is at the net and she puts it away for 40 love three set points and this is this has been probably at least if not the best one of the best service games she's played at this match so far so yeah positive signs that she's feeling good um Ashley saying that he thinks that Keys is better than Pula I I think I think pagou is probably better at the moment but I think perhaps just so was bing up Keys just hit a double fault but she's still got two more seate opportunities I think Keys's Peak is probably higher than Pula but I think I'd back Pula at the moment yeah Pula is more solid I would say Oly Pula is also coming into this tournament with more form as Keys takes the first set not the the prettiest set in the world but um she got the job done and that was a not a bad hold at the end despite there being another double fault but it was generally pretty solid yeah Kei has made a grand slam final very close to making a second one last year but pagul is having a bit of a a herd up getting past the quarterfinals at Grand Slams but I do think just in my predictions I've actually got Pula making the final could be a bold claim but I think she's one of the the form players coming into this tournament but I do have sabalenka taking the title I think that's probably quite a lot of people's prediction see prod asking um if I had p b in eag i w even Bolder than that I think I had eag losing to Sam son this is the thing with eager I I uh could I could see Fon would the whole thing because she's good enough but I just don't have that much trust in her at the moment I don't have much trust in F much trust in riina and I kind of went with the players trust more I think at the moment I I don't know that much trusting gof either despite her really good victory today and I trust Pula and saaler the most I think that was probably my thinking going into my predictions but at the same time eager reaching the final of winning this tournament is completely realistic especially if she's a former champion in New York Ashley's going big on Pula saying that she's going to he thinks she'll be beaten first round um who is pula's first round opponent if anyone could I mean yeah no I mean predictions are predictions I mean I'm not I have known for getting quite a l predictions wrong yeah I I'll be honest um actually I can't see p Los to Shelby Rogers it's chelby rogers's final tournament and it's it's I think she's struggling with injury so yeah I think Pula should comfortably come through that as s p is getting too much hype and I don't know if she's getting too much hype but it will be interesting to see how she handles any hype because it doesn't work for everyone then some people like goof really thrived with that hype plus she really used it to help her but it's whether Jessica Pula will be able to to use it in the same way actually having chubby rers going out in a play of Glory I mean roers did beat the world number one Ash bti a few years ago and ended up losing to radik CaRu so she has had success at this tournament but I think at this stage in terms of her injury in her career been a final tournament I think it's it's going to be a challenge 15 all in this first game of the second set I mean s really needs a hold here I think just keep she needs to keep it ticking on the scoreboard and put put more pressure on K serve she still have that one break point oh no did she have a break opportunity in the first set I forget I don't I'm not sure she did actually yeah she needs to start putting more pressure on on um Keys's serve yeah she didn't have any breakpoint chances in the first set as far as I'm aware this about keeping these that's a wild B TOS a wild B TOS but actually the server was very good um Sak does have quite a unique um service motion but this won her numerous Grand Slam titles on the double Court I'm not sure I agree with that actually on the key is not feeling pressure I think he's I'm not sure she feels any pressure in terms of winning the title this year but I think in matches she's been seeing to feel pressure previously I think the match at sabalenka last year was kind of an example of that um some of that obviously was sabalenka just being fantastic player but yeah I think he does feel pressure p has so much natural Talent yeah I mean Novak is probably one of the players who thrives of pressure and I think that's what makes him one of the if not the best player out of all time and I think that's just where you kind of Def Define the the good players and the great players from the the Legends yeah I think caros H thrives on pressure as well nice forand there from s k somewhat pressure moment at juice as she now goes to Advantage yeah I me a lot of pula's quarterfinals have been against um some decent players uh nland I think the one that stands out where maybe it went away was Wimbledon uh last year where she was heavily up against V and andford came back and obviously did went go on to win the title but yeah I that one stung you obviously a lot of people drawing comparisons to Pula and Andre rublev both have poor Grandam quarterfinal reckles and does anyone think either of them are going to break their duck this year does anyone have rublev or Pula going past the quarterfinals let's have a look at Jessica pula's quarterfinal I think rublev is worse but I think pula's record is sort of is tallying up we're back at Juice by the way in this service game and it's another double F from tinaka I mean there been far too many from her so Pula has been in one two three four five six grand quarterfinals and lost all all of them she been in one quarterfinal here US Open three in Australia one at Rand garos and the one I mentioned in in uh Wimbledon and there you go Keys takes the break you just can't be hitting as many double faults as that as s has I mean what will be at now on the double fault can eight I mean there's already been two in the first service game it's it's too high against a player like madon Keys who's although is not looking fantastic compared to her her top level is still good enough to to take advantage of those but obviously Keys needs to keep it ticking herself on her own serve and really consolidate that break people radic car can shock people everyone I mean yeah rad car's got a tough draw Kenan in the first round I mean obviously kenin is not the player that won the Australian Open but does tend to show up for the big matches yeah I think radic I would back her to beat Kenan um then it's probably going to be Pula for R con o she beat her on grass earlier this year but p is coming in with the more matches I mean you could argue that Emma has got the more um pretty fresh fresher coming into the tournament yeah I think a lot of people are interested to see that match it's definitely not going to be plain sailing Yeah Ashley and Nan are both backing Emma to beat Pula despite Pula um winning Toronto and making this the final in Cincinnati so it's interesting I think that's what makes ground slam so interesting is that there's so many players I think especially on the women's side there's a lot of depth and uh yeah it's it just makes the start of grand slam so interesting because like seeds go big names go and you have really interesting draws on the women's side you've got ostapenko oaka radican Kenan Pini Andreu um Anissa Moen we had today I mean these could be grand some quarterfinals and they in the first round it's just it makes so exciting actually talking about Emma's game can trouble anyone I mean yeah I agree Emma has the game to challenge probably 90% of this draw I think sabalenka would probably and E would probably the only ones that I think would be too much at their Peak but yeah I think a lot of people will probably Emma's not a seed so the lot of the seeds are probably thinking please avoid me in the first round and she got kenon but s does actually have a break break back Point here key goes crosscourt crosscourt again now key coming towards the net and S goes wider the lined so we're back at juice and this is what we're talking about I mean t has not had many break points in this match I think is that second um so first yes Sak's first break point of the match so yeah they've been few and far between another big serve there for Madison Keys it's one of our biggest weapons this match on Lou Armstrong second biggest cour Flushing Meadows in the US Open I believe this is the third day match and then they'll have a break before the Knight session and I forget who is on the Knight session on this court tonight I'll have a look but Keys has not held just yet um going long there to go back to juice so still hope for Sak yeah the night session tonight on Lou Armstrong we've got tifo against kovachevich and sabalenka against Priscilla Han I mean I think TFO and sabalenka are the big favorites in those matches but CFO is very very big um at the US opening that run a couple years ago to the semi-finals saal Lena a final this to last year probably the favorite for the title I would say off the back of the Cincinnati title and yes as people mentioned in the chat the night sessional the night session tonight on Arthur rash you got former Champion Sloan Stevens against claraa Burell um which I think a lot of people were surprised about Stevens being on the night session and then you've got Novak jovic against R Alor see nov jovic the defended Champion s got a break point and takes the break point big big forehand down the line there and we're back on level times at one all yeah a we'll be talking about the errors but that is a nice forehand from sakova asley thinking that Sloan Stevens could get beaten three sets against clar brell today yeah Sloan Stevens is a tricky one to predict I mean she's nowhere near the player that she was when she won the title here I believe it's seven or seven years ago was it 2017 um yeah and cl barell can produce some decent results some uh as long as you don't tell her the draw beforehand um and Sak now will be looking to hold but that is unlikely and is hitting forehands like that I mean that is the power that Keys has and we're starting to see more winners now from both of them yeah 11 winners for keys six for for just talk about the more winners um he's H an unforced ter there I mean it just and she looks as frustrated as I F watching it Keys is 29 um I can't remember who asked that Ashley yep 29 medicine keys reached the final when she played Sloan Stevens and in that final lost quite comfortably but it's quite particularly at least on the uh the lower levels it's quite a sparse crowd so far there's still plenty of people there but still quite a few empty seats but I think it was definitely stack out more for the night session I think diafa would have a good crowd very popular in New York actually not thinking that P whatever one a grand slam I mean it's definitely possible this definitely play I think that are better than her but I think she's one of those players that You' back to reach a certain point in a grand slam and uh if the draw starts to open up then it's definitely possible I mean there another double fault there for S and ke's got a chance for a break yeah I mean I think actually she will have Pula will definitely have some uh scar issue from the the quarterfinal defeats we've been talking about grand slams I think she just needs that that one breakthrough and then it is kind of gone then isn't it ke is in the corner going crosscourt Keys goes down the line I'm in that s lovely back hand there from keys and it's been all break so far in this this uh second set 21 to keys and uh it'll be interesting now to see if anyone can get the whole would yeah I think the one the quarterfinal defeat the Pula would def particularly be lot of Scar Tish from is the one against ffer which was 51 up in that in the third set and lost yeah it's it's rough but whether she'll be thinking about that when a different tournament I don't know but her draw isn't easy I mean I think her first round should be pretty comfortable against Shelby Rogers like I said that it could be radic CaRu or Kenan then it could be Katy Bolter yeah and I'm not sure after that where we go but it's yeah it's not going to be plan sailing at all I mean it's a ground slam so it's never going to be yeah rbl has got a lot of scars and we've seen with rubl this year how much he he gets his own head and showing his frustration on court let's just have a quick look around the ground see if there's any interesting scores or more results um Martinez and forgive me I Butch this kasowski I've a qualifier polish qualifier we're a fifth set fich and Lea Lea's two sets to one up com from set down apala I mean that's a surprise aala win the second set against Lorenzo MTI 61 MTI didn't had a good form of late but yeah Aela really dismantling him in that second set really Nish and catch man set piece very is about to serve for the second for two love lead against impi peraka and schwarzman is for love up in the tiebreak against Gail mon Fe OB schwarzman coming through qualifying a nice story there what will be his well it'll definit be his final US Open is he retiring in Bonos areis next year Adam Walton set a break up Alexander Müller dimitrov um is 53 up in the first set chevchenko early breakup the women's draw you've got Sterns has beaten Sereno in straight sets cor Pat and Uchi gima set piece toas set up m and town to set upon travan but travan fire3 up in the second and then we go back to our match here where Keys's it's been no hold so far and this the second set of keys has currently got three chances at 40 love 2 one 40 love so this could be the chance to really start making a bit of um clear space between herself and Sak second serve yeah sakov goes straight into the net yeah it's been a bit of story of the day from sakov and now the pressure is really on I mean she hasn't held serve so far in this set in her two service games and if she doesn't hold serve now I think it might be a long way back I mean obviously sakov has um got the doubl draw but I think she' have been hoping for a lot more from herself in this match that's no problem Ashley it's been it's been nice it's it's rare for me to be hosting on my own but it's you've all kept me company in the chat and uh it's been good fun I mean who knows this match still might have a long way to go the of if she hit four hands like she just did there then we don't know still only at one break what matches do I have I I mean I assume you mean what matches will I be covering I don't know but I I'm planning to be on here um a few times this week I believe produc my producer uh picking me up there so I appreciate that yeah actually she does need stop the double faults I mean it's been the the big downfall really not I mean Keith hit uh a lot of double faults well not towards the start of the match there was a few double faults but she's slowed them down and sov hasn't really slowed down thanks Ashley I uh I appreciate that um yeah everyone drop a like if that' be a appreciated but I I just appreciate you being here and watching 10th of fault s in this match 1530 yeah an averted Ball Toss and I wonder if the the missed serves have really got to the head of sen I mean just not far after outside the SE spots but she's not really showing her ranking in this match comes to the net and maybe yeah that is showing a lack of confidence I mean she's probably I don't know what her ranking is but is very high but probably the best dou player in the world alongside Chasey way and that um that volley was very poor and it's just shown that she's not feeling it today at all I mean she looks very frustrated with herself as key has two break points for a double break and really it would feel like the match but then there's a winner there from s backhand but she doesn't look particularly pleased with it because there must be a lot of frustration that knowing that that's in her locker but it hasn't been shown regularly enough and the errors have really been quite frequent but we are back at juice so uh she's vended off those two break points but there's still two more points to win to to hold this game there's a strong return from Keith could just get it back but that's that's a beautiful uh down the line back and from Madison Keys I mean as much as I've gone on about Sak perhaps been too heavy on the arrows and the double F there's not a lot she can do when Keys hits shots like that you kind of just have to applaud and and just say too good there another break point for madon Keys Sako gets the first of in I mean Keys it's unsurprising that Keys went for another down the line back end but that one was just wide and we're at juice so s just about holding on but it feels a bit like a fingernail that she's Holding On by but another first serve in comes she coming towards the net again that's a nice passing shot I mean that backand has been very impressive for keys in this second set and just got herself I believe a one two fourth break point in this game but will she take it the answer is no Kei went for the down the line forehand but it goes into the net and you've got to think if Saka does hold on to this there there will be probably going on in the mind of keys about the missed opportunities to go a double break up and with that with that cing to get back in to it she has now forged a game point for herself first of this game for sakova with a nice onew combo nice first serve but a good return from keys but just get it back in play but that for handed into the net and we are back at juice actually say that gon Fe lost the first set to schwarzman I saw that schwarzman was up in the the tie break so yeah schwarzman really kind of going for a last harrar of the US Open as a former quarterfinalist is that out from sakov yes it is and she shakes ah head those keys gets another break point I mean this is crucial really it' be a double break for keys at 4-1 and it would feel like too much s to bridge back that Gap will she take it first of in from oh no it was out and it's a forand winner there from Keys swatted away the second serve and it's 4-1 with a double break to the American I think as much as maybe I've been a bit negative on uh perhaps in AR enforced AR F it's been positive from a Keith's perspective I mean her last two matches have both come with retirement due to a leg problem but despite the strapping she seemed not too hampered I mean the points have been fairly short but and that would have played into her hand but it's been fairly positive Ashley asking how many break points I mean do you mean that game or the match in the match um ke's had 10 taken she taken six out a 10 and sako's only had two chances and taken that one in that game I believe there was one two three five in total with ke taking on the fifth as we are at the change of ends umly mentioned that schwar took the first set against one 72 in the tiebreak yeah and keys especially in the second set Keys has played well I the first set was a bit more arist from both but ke has reigned in a bit and shown those those winners and the the the power that in the second set and really the the double fults have been minimal from the American especially compared to sakova lovely forehand there from Keys sakova can't get back in play Pick s from keys and it goes wide yeah I think K has really found a rhythm now and it's not helpful for senior because there seems like there's no way back and when you're serving like that there's not a lot you can do that one just going long but it's still a second serve second goes in sakova returns it back hand down the line from sakova and now goes with the drop shot and yes sums up Sak's day goes into the net and it's 40 love keys and it does feel like we are approaching the end of this match which is a shame I think a lot of people were expecting including myself were expecting a lot more from this match yeah nice one two there from keys and it's 5-1 is only one game away from the second round yeah I actually had Sak winning this match um just based off Keys's injury problems as of late but like I said she does seem okay she chose to skip Cincinnati and maybe that was the what she needed to really help heal I mean I would be interested to see if maybe more challenge in her next match is whether the leg would be more um exposed in terms of it limitations but it seems fairly comfortable in this match that's more like it from Sydney ARA coming to the net and showing her her doubles prowess back hand's too strong from keys and we're at 15 all despite the scoreboard saying 30 love on my on my stream I'm pretty sure that's the 0 and we're now at 1530 with Z going into the net and the the scoreboard has corrected itself but's go wide there to we're at 30 still only two points away from her her first round victory yeah which does really feel inevitable at this point yeah actually very impressed with key I mean she does seem to kind of go under the radar lot these tournaments but when at the top form is so difficult to beat and that's another double fault from s to gift key A Match Point we should take on the first opportunity yeah and keys gets a return to strong and takes the victory in just over an hour on Louis Armstrong yeah not not a performance to be uh to be to be particularly looking back on I don't think zakov will be watching this match many to many more times but yeah it's positive to see from Keys it's positive to see her completing a match um pretty strong I mean some of the back hands down the line she was hitting in that match with lovely and I I think now she goes on to play the qualifier Maya joint I believe that's how you say her name beat Lara segman in the first round so obviously coming in the M coming into the match of keys on the back of the back of Four Winds she came through qualifying yeah that'll be interesting I mean key will be the overwhelming favorite um just given her pedigree and experience I'm not quite sure how old joint is I know she's I believe she's a young Australian talent I first heard of her name in the Australian swing early this year yeah just 18 soly a very talented young player but yeah I mean poor from sakov but she like I said she does still have doubles with Taylor town and then I think they've definitely got be one of the favorites for the title going off the back of Wimbledon Sak also won Rand garos with um Coco goof so yeah doubles is really where she comes into her own but it was a poor performance on The Singles court today but ke's looking pleased in her her interview I mean I don't know if anyone else has got any questions before we we bring this live stream to an end I believe you've now got um 50 minutes of um nothing on Lou Armstrong before the night sessions begin on both Lou Armstrong and um what you call Arthur rash Stadium yes a producer I did have Madison Keys losing the first round so that's and I think going to about the fourth round so that's come back to bite me I should really uh yeah it's not it's not come back to bite me I think he's really watching in this match I I think you've got to have keys at least going I mean you'd expected to get past joint I haven't really watched a lot of joint actually very big on join didn't M some win this match lose it I mean I think yeah that I think senov definitely played a big part in it unfor ER wise but Keys was very strong in that second set in particular but yeah I think i' would say played a bigger part in terms of her errors um if Keys was to reach the third round it would probably be either um you're looking I think Tom yanovich and Lee could have at overall Mertens again I think keys if she's feeling good would be the favorite to get through that and then she play Sabal Lena possibly um which would be perhaps bit scarring from last year the semi-final where she played saena was up but ended up losing it but also Sabal Lanka would not C just went a bit yeah and as our producer mentioned similar at Wimbledon this year really up in the match against Pini before injury the injury I mentioned seemed to hamper her and pal fought back and went not to reach the final so you just I I hope that Keys whatever that happens in this tournament completes it on her own terms in terms of no injury hampering her and just either goes on to win the title I mean that would be quite something or loses just because the player was her opponent was better than her that's the main thing but yeah always a threat and particularly on us hard courts that'll be interesting to see very interesting to see I'm not sure what who else we've got on stream either now or coming up today if we want to just give them a quick shout out if anything you want to look out later yeah we've got obviously jovic and Alber and TFO and kovachevich in the night session I'm not sure who is covering them but sure our producer will give me a heads up um before I head off um after this quite quick match yeah so uh do tune in for jovic and Albert I believe TFA TFA kovich on first yeah van and Damian for tifo for TFO and so van Daman for T TFO on first then Louie um covering Novak jovic's first match in his title defense so yeah um I don't know why I said Lou on Lou Armstrong tfos and Matthew is covering jovic yeah my bad jovic will be on um Arthur rash yeah I'm not sure Lou Armstrong would be covering it I think that's unlikely yeah very impressive um yeah kogie coming just before the stream comes to an end but yeah I'm sure there'll be lots of mon talk mon is currently he's a break up in the second after lose in the first but early days in that second set against schwarzman yeah Cheers Cheers everyone thanks for joining um I hope you enjoy the rest of today's US Open Play and I'm sure I'll catch you later in the tournament if
