we know who to draft in the first rounds of your fantasy football drafts we need to be targeting the guys going in the late rounds We Believe can have fantasy value all season long last year we picked four guys that finished top 25 at the running back position on our sleeper video this year we're trying to run that success back will we probably not because we don't know what we're doing let's not waste any more time let's hop right into five sleeper running backs for 2024 fantasy football my first guy is the most expensive running back on this list javante Williams you can get him 91 overall on sleeper drafts a lot of people are worried about the committee in Denver with Jalil mlin samaj perine and some other death pieces they've added but I am not buying into this committee approach for the Broncos I think Shawn Payton has always been able to produce productive fantasy backs we saw this in New Orleans for many years with Mark Ingram and Alvin cimo working together in some Seasons both finished as viable options and now in Denver obviously the offense is nowhere near as prolific as what he had in New Orleans I still think javante owns this back field for the Broncos now people will point to mcgloin's usage last year but in all but one game in 2023 Julio mcgoffin was under a 33% snap share so other than spilling javante he's not getting worked and over the course of the entire 2023 season javat Williams doubled the amount of carries samaji pery and Jalil mlin combined for four so he's an absolute strangle hold on the carries in this offense also javante has shown to be a very electric player in the receiving Game dating two years back before his knee injury he was a top 10 guy in elusive rating this past year he does fall to just being a top 24 guy in elusive rating but now he is two years removed from that huge knee injury he suffered in 2022 healthiest he's been since while last year he wasn't putting up the same elusive numbers we saw him before the injury he was still a top 10 running back in Breakaway run in a Broncos offense that did disappoint the last two seasons not only that gavon was also top 10 in Red Zone touches so when the Broncos got into the red area Shawn Peyton was relying on javante to punch it in which is going to be very important if gavon doesn't have a role in the red zone for this Broncos team that doesn't profile to be a top 10 unit in the NFL it's going to be slim pickings for him but I do believe he's got that role locked down to go along with a majority share of the carries and getting receiving work for this Broncos offense while it might not be a top 15 offense in the league I think javante Williams role should be more than enough to Warrant a top 24 finish at the position by end of year especially when you consider the Broncos have a top 10 easiest strength of schedule for the running back position a lot of good matchups for gavon to exploit for the Denver Broncos I do not mind him grabbing him as a cheap running back late in drafts number two running back on my list Brian Robinson he made the sleepers video last season and he did finished as the number 22 running back during the 2023 campaign while he did finish top 24 at the position he was the fifth best running back through the first 10 weeks of the regular season now this Washington team did disappoint last year they cleaned house with the coaching staff brand new head coach OC Cliff kingsberry coming in to Washington to run this offense they draft Jayden Daniels Heisman Trophy winner from LSU I believe this Washington offense is going to look a lot better let's keep in mind this commanders team led the NFL in passing attempts last season I expect them to be more run heavy with an offensive coordinator in kingsberry who likes to push the tempo we should expect a lot of plays for this Commander team and Robinson has showed top 24 in elusive rating similar to gavon Williams not only that he's ranked the first running back in the NFL in yards per reception it is a limited sample size but showing the ability to have a role in the receiving game is very important for a people concerned about Austin Eckler we know Antonio Gibson departs this Commander's team and they immediately sign Eckler to fill that Gibson role but we saw Eckler over the course of the 2023 season he turned to dust at by the end of the year I'm not sure how anyone could be using Austin Eckler as a point in an argument against Brian Robinson with how atrocious his game was by the end of the regular season I don't expect much more than a third down roll for Eckler and I think this Washington offense is going to look very similar to that Arizona Cardinals offense under Kyler Murray and kingsbery just a few seasons ago they have James Connor they have Chase Edmonds people profiled chase Edmond to be that number one running back in this offense but we know James Conor was the guy inside the Red Zone kingsberry opted to hand the ball to Connor had a double digit touchdown finish in that season and I expect the same role for Robinson I don't see why Eckler touches the ball inside the 5 yard line when you have a beefier and more talented running back at this stage like Robinson not only that this offense should just be moving more efficiently with Jaden Daniels coming to town we know these running quarterbacks they're going to open up lanes for these running backs to be more efficient on the ground we saw Lamar Jackson lead this Baltimore Ravens backfield to have the highest yards per carry Mark over the last five seasons that has a lot to do with Lamar's legs and I think Jaden Daniels profile is to be very similar in that department opening up lanes for Brian Robinson next guy I want to talk about Chase Brown for the Cincinnati Bengals now why would I pay for Zach Moss rounds earlier than Chase Brown when I think these guys are going to be a 5050 split in the beginning of the Season while Zach Moss did have an impressive season in 23 with the Indianapolis Colts filling in for Jonathan Taylor this was the only year of his career where he had over 500 rushing yards every other year of Moss's career he is below 500 rushing yards so for people to expect him to just carry this Bengals backfield the entire 24 season I just don't buy it we saw him in Buffalo get phased out when for years he was a sleeper in drafts back then now people are expecting him to take the reins from Joe Mixon I don't buy it I think Chase Brown's the more talented running back here we've seen brown be an explosive player leting back to his final season at at Illinois he had 1,800 all-purpose yards to go along with 13 touches really Revitalize that Illinois fighting a line ey football team for a backfield that is looking extremely murky I will take the cheaper guy in Brown in ADP the younger guy and the guy we haven't seen for six seasons be very mediocre in fantasy like Zach Moss has been for a backfield that has over 300 vacated touches with Joe Mixon leaving for the Houston Texans for a Bengals offense that projects to be top five I think taking a late a post 100 pick flyer on Chase Brown to be the rb1 in Cincinnati is a great idea in fantasy DRFT my next sleeper running back is Trey Benson for the Arizona Cardinals now Benson's ADP has steadily risen over the course of the off season but he's still going at pick 110 ADP now Benson's not a guy I'm expecting production in the first half of the season this is going to be a second half season maybe potential League winner for the fantasy playoffs this has a lot to do with 29-year-old James Connor we know the cliff for running backs happens around past age 28 so Connor on the wrong end of that Connor is coming off an impressive season in this Arizona Cardinal offense but the thing about it is James Connor just cannot stay healthy in his entire career he's missed at least two games every single season of his career in the last two years he's missed four games in each season so it's really not a matter of if Connor gets hurt it's a matter of when he's going to get hurt and how long it's going to be for so Benson when Connor is sideline he's going to step into a great offense under Kyler Murray Marvin Harrison Michael Wilson and Trey McBride this Cardinal team they were top 13 in Rush attempts in 2023 this goes for an offense last season that was down in a majority of their games so if this team is going to be rushing the ball heavily when they are losing games imagine if they are more competitive in these games I expect a huge workload for the Arizona backfield and if Benson a talented guy out of Florida State third round pick with 14 touchdowns last season for Florida State keep in mind this might be the freshest guy coming out of college as he suffered a horrendous knee injury three seasons ago so while he is completely removed from that injury he has not taken the wear and tear some of these other running backs coming out of college with some fresh legs coming into a good offense in Arizona behind a veteran 29-year-old running back who's been injury-prone in his career sign me up for Trey Benson to potentially win leagues in the second half of the season now the cheapest player on this list is going to be Rico D going after pick 130 in fantasy drafts now do I have Rico on this list because I think he's a super talented running back no not at all I don't believe Rico D is a superior talent in the NFL this all comes down to opportunity here while we've been waiting for Dallas to sign a running back in the off season it just hasn't happened this backfield consists of wased Ezekiel Elliott and Rico dle and for a guy they bring back in Zeke he's had diminishing yards per carry numbers in five of the last six seasons this has been a steady decline in Zeke's numbers over a significant sample size while even if you think Zeke is the rb1 in this offense which probably isn't the case it's probably a complete even split here two seasons ago Tony Pard finishes the number eight running back overall behind Zeke Elliot in a year where he got over 240 touches so while Zeke probably has the goal line role here in Dallas Rico is going to see a significant amount of touches and for an offense like the Dallas Cowboys who is the number one scoring team in the National Football League I will take a guy getting touches out of this back field no matter how talented he is especially when the only guy has of him on the depth chart is Ezekiel Elliott which like we talked about have seen diminishing numbers in five of the last six seasons on a yards per carry Mark not only that Zeke was ranked the 56th running back in Breakaway run rate last season just very little explosiveness left in his game you really have no choice but to take Rico dle a younger fresher running back who might just have to get more touches in this offense for Dallas especially when they're going to be moving the ball up and down the field in the number one scoring offense from just one season to go I think it's a potential Great Value pick in fantasy drafts but those are my five sleeper running backs for 2024 fantasy football we started with javante Williams Brian Robinson Chase Brown Trey Benson and ended with Rico dle let me know what you think of these sleepers are you drafting them or are these guys complete bombs and need to be avoided let me know in the comment section love hearing your guys opinions we will have our five wide receiver sleeper video coming out hit the like button subscribe
