elected officials First Responders and approximately 50 residents attended Wednesday night's Union City 9911 remembrance ceremony in Liberty Plaza gracious and loving God we come before you on this 23rd anniversary of the tragedy of September 11th 2001 on September 12th 2001 we made a promise to never forget our fallen heroes who lost their lives running toward danger when everyone else was running away a moment of silence was held for the five Union City residents who perished during the terrorist attacks on 911 including 36-year-old Gary L brigh Jorge Lis Leon age [Music] 43 aljo Perez age 66 Nancy E Perez age 36 put Authority police officer David L magnet age 27 yeah it's hard to imagine that we're now at that point where people are graduating from college who weren't born yet during the September 11th attacks it is incumbent on us to ensure that we are sharing our memories of that fateful day with Next Generation that we are passing down the importance of service because military recruitment is at an all-time low and finally 911 is Patriot Day and the national day of service and Remembrance so it's important that we perform acts of service uh and do what we can to actively remember what happened and make sure that history does not repeat itself all the people that died that day whether it be at the world trade or in the Pentagon or in Pennsylvania it's the status event it's still an event that's just incredible for me to to really put my arms around it and understand that that happened on that day it's just a horrible horrible event it's a horrible time in our country and we can never forget those we can never forget them and never allow that to happen again and stay strong as a country we could disagree I mean we have a presidential election coming right now we can disagree but at the end of the day remember that we're all Americans and that's what's most important we can differ in opinion in this country but remember at the end of the day we're all Americans and we all stand under the same flag and what that Flag represents is something that no other country in the world can come close to it's a day of of uh patriotism a day of of uh of mourning uh but it's nonetheless a day for America and so we're here to celebrate those individuals and their spirits that we lost and of course uh celebrating the courageousness of those who who lost their lives in the name of [Music] others a wreath was laid at the foot of the 9/11 Memorial we shall never forget in Union City for Hudson TV I'm Jeff henig
