welcome back to another video from checking from behind I'm Zach by myself today we're going to be previewing the 2025 season for the Ottawa Senators the record last season was 3741 and four good enough for 78 points they finished seventh in the Atlantic division their key additions this off season were lius alark Nick Jensen Michael lario and David pan their key subtractions were Jacob tricken Eric branstrom and Dominic kubalik this team on the surface looks like a really good team they look like they can make the playoffs with the addition of lineus allar which was their one glaring need was go tending yonas cor pasalo and Anton forsberg we not getting it done at all and if we look at money parck they were both I believe in the top 10 in expect sorry the bottom 10 in goals above expected goals against above expected um so if we look at let's go to goalies here all right here it is so okay they weren't both top 10 however though yonas coros solo was bot the second worst goal tender in the entire league with Goal saved above expected at Nega 16.1 the number one goalie us Arvid Soder Blum with a Nega 18.2 corporel had 55 games played the Soder blums 32 which Soder Blum must be completely ass but he is in the en I'm not so why am I talking also Matt soard played six games for the adest cers already had a negative 10.3 goal Sav the above expected and then Anton forsberg was 14th worst in the entire league with with a negative 7.3 in 30 games played for the Senators so if you look at their goalen need they got one of the best goali in the league with Lusa Markus seventh in the entire league with a goal saved above expected at 14.8 so you're going from the second worst go tender in the entire league by goal saved above expected to the seventh best in the league and you get rid of Jacob trickin you bring in Nick Jensen as part of that trade which I think is a solid ad for them I think it just didn't work out with Jacob trickin right that was an impulsive trade I think a couple years ago with the deadline trading I believe a first round pick and whatever else for him thought he was going to make an impact on the team didn't really pan out for them so what you move on right um so that's really that situation I think that's going to help Sanderson a lot develop into his own be the power play two quarterback obviously have Shabbat as a number one guy in Ottawa now that is the my ex factor is can Lusa Mark be a good enough golender to help this team get into the playoffs and my answer is yes if they stay healthy because Josh Norris and Drake bson have to stay on the ice let me say that again Josh Norris and Drake bson have to s in the ice but first LS looking like Brady kachu Tim stza and Claud jeru very good first line been good for them the past few seasons second line David pan Josh Norris and Drake Patterson if that line stays together I think it's going to be a good line but you can also throw really Ley Greg up there for David pan and flip flops him back and forth in the middle six between the second left wing spot and the third line Wing Spot rley Greg right now is the at listed per Daily face off as the third line left Winger with Shane pinzo and Michael Mario Shane pinzo is my breakout player this season he was close to a point per game coming back from a suspension from his 40 plus game suspension which by the way I thought was absolutely ridiculous don't mind my language um but Shane Pinto looking to bounce back this season I mean he kind of bounce back last season but play a full season you guys know what I mean and then fourth line Noah Gregor Zack AA p a aop Chuck there we go and then Zach M mchan so overall I do love the top nine for this team and do I I like I guess I like 11 players on this team although David Pan's kind of iffy in the top six however though I would love to see really Greg there playing with Josh Norris playing with Drake b bs possibly getting some ice time with Tim staw ready kachuck Shu whoever may be because I'm really high and really Greg now you go over to the blue line which we covered just briefly to start the video Jake Sanderson artham Zub second pair Thomas Shabbat Nick Jensen third pair Tyler clevin and Jacob Bernard Docker again this is all per Daily face off so again I think this team on paper has the job to get it done but can they go out and execute that will be remain to be for scen and of course go tenders you have Anton forsberg locking backing up lonus allar and lus Al Mar's going to get the brunt of the work he's going to get 55 games 60 games possibly 60 games uh depending on how everything goes but will this team make the playoffs this is what I've been asking myself all offseason ever since the got line OFA Mark in June in July around that range I'm going to say no last season I bought into the Ottawa Senator hype I was so hyped for them I was like this is where the rebuild ends I was like even though I'm a diard Sabers fan me and Preston are we were like I at least myself I was like this team can get in they can get in with Detroit they took a huge step back last season they lost Shane Pino they were dealing with injuries left and right their goal attending was some of the worst in the league but this season though I'm going to temper my expectations a bit they'll be a point or two out okay they're they are not going to be at the 78 Point range or whatever they're at this season they're going to be so much better than that they're going to be hovering around 90 points if they get in the playoffs will I be shocked no I will be so happy for them but if they miss the playoffs will I be shocked now there's only a few teams in this league that I'm like they missed the playoffs I won't be shocked but if
