Major League Baseball between the Phillies and Diamondbacks at 9:40 Eastern in Arizona and the early money came in on the Diamondbacks they were a slight dog overnight they're now a slight favored minus a15 to his highs in120 not a surprise Arizona's been in great current form the defending national league Champs start of the Season slow but they have picked things up going 22 and8 their last 30 meanwhile the Phillies despite some recent wins are still there 13 and 17 their last 30 games they're still just three and seven their last 10 Dbacks are 8-2 their last 10 so I fully understand why the money came in on Arizona and the Phillies have a terrible pitcher on the mound uh who's not really been anything in the big leagues over the years Colby Ard he's bounced back and forth to the miners the last couple Seasons so I understand why the early money came in on the Dbacks I don't disagree but I think the total is where the value is and that's where I'm going to focus in this game sharp money's also coming in the over today in this game it open nine and a half it's up to N9 and a half over but some of the one of the sharpest leading offshore indicator books is now at 10 under so I do think we're going to see more 10 by the time this game starts late Thursday night so I like the over 9 a half right now grab the over 9 A2 I agree with that Shar money between two mediocre to below average left-handed starters on the mound tonight you know I mentioned how Kobe Ard has really struggled for the Phillies and that's nothing new this guy's been in the big leagues for several years now he's hopped around uh from Atlanta to Texas back to Atlanta and then Philly last year in Atlanta he had three starts 6.6 in overall four appearances uh this year at Philly he had appeared in two games one start of 4.5 but he's pitched in the miners extensively and he's been really bad in fact um he wasn't in the miners for a couple seasons and then he got bounced back there in 22 2023 and then he had an Extended Stay in a 2024 in which he has not done well this season in fact uh just look at his minor league numbers you can see how bad it's been uh first of all double A this year he had a few starts this guy was a major league pitcher had to go to double a and done three starts in 8.3 ra and then just his bed in 16 appearances at AAA he had a 5.2 ra this guy is not a major league pitcher Phillies are using him tonight because they basically have to so that's why we've seen some money coming on the Dbacks I'm kind of neutral on the side in this game though Philly is starting to heat up once again uh Arizona also though does not have a great pitch on the mound that's why I like the total better as Montgomery um has a very weak 6.4 ER even despite his winning seven and five record and we dig deeper into mcgomery stats here we've seen a pattern here and this is often the case with bad pitchers they'll have a decent outing that keeps them in the rotation and then they regress in the next one and that's been exactly what he's done over his fast past five starts going back to middle of June he gave up two runs next one he gave up seven earn runs right after that he gave up one earn run right after that he gave up six his last start against Pittsburgh on the road this past Saturday he gave up one run but only pitched three Innings I look for him to regress tonight so we have two bad pitchers on the mound two decent offenses a hitter friendly Park in Chase Field and a manageable total I agree with the sharp money on the over 92 Diamondback Philly is over
