we're on the other side of the Seesaw back to one game back um the offense really couldn't muster anything because Jake Irvin is uh Randy Johnson against the Braves um five no hit innings for Jake Irvin who'd been struggling mightily coming into it but you just sometimes you just see certain teams and you feel really good and he was on a roll and Max Reed back b l all night long and actually giving up 11 hits and only giving up four runs uh that was pretty impressive um he got saved by Ramon lano's gun in the second he was able to gun out y Juan YZ uh to make two quick outs uh trying to stretch a single into a double and then backto back doubles um but he was able to strike out Vargas to get out of that and then it unraveled for him in the third with the old soft contact devil um after a hit by pitch on Jacob young this speeds her uh a tweener ground ball by CJ Abrams bigio did a nice job to stop it but uh couldn't get an out anywhere uh first and second no outs and the one pitch he really struggled with was the inside fast ball he really tried he he was trying to get it in and it just kept leaking out over Cruz got a RBI single on that and then James Wood uh swinging bunt that Max freed couldn't feel it was just kind of a gross Death By A Thousand Cuts inning and and he did a really nice job of uh limiting it to two um in that inning but it it just kind of kept unraveling gave up a solo Jack to um Abrams meatball fast ball and then uh a double by chapara and a line drive in and out of the glove of ramol Lano nice sliding try but uh that fell to make it four to nothing and then the Braves had a couple of chances late uh he finally got to Irvin um in the six back toback doubles by Michael Harris II and hor Solair but Marcelo Zuna going into a production slump he has gotten his hits here or there but he's smoked the ball just on the ground can't get any lift on it he might just it might just be TI tired I don't want to say that because Marcel is going to post every single day but he's carried our offense and he hasn't had an RBI since the Minnesota series it just seems like he's pressing too hard and can't get the ball in the air and unlucky stuff and all that and it's just kind of snowballing a little bit and then in the seventh we had lead off single by mtio a double by laurana second and third one out butan Murphy struck out on a w a away cutter that wasn't anywhere far in the zone but Murphy had already committed a for strike out and the bigo flew out to end that threat and then in the eighth we had two singles by Money Mike and Solair uh first and second one out and marel fouled out uh and foul ground and then matad Olson grounded out to the pitcher to end that threat and then we went without a whimper in the ninth after they got a tack on run on a soft Fly ball off dav's Bell Hernandez kebert Ruiz just found found a hole it's just it's really frustrating we really haven't really been able to solve righties honestly uh but definitely not Jake Jake Irvin for whatever reason uh the national were pesky for us all year long uh as much winning as we've done against them we were kind of bound to have one of these weird type of years but uh the offense right now it's either been all or nothing literally so hopefully we can enjoy the off day tomorrow um and just get back ready to fire cuz we have to win and we have to win a lot and hope the Mets start fumbling and bumbling um um and see what happens but as always go Braves Champions forever
