uh hopefully the voice will hold up and we're going to be doing if everything goes as planned a little later this afternoon or even for the evening show we're going to be doing a chalk talk episode so I'm trying to put together at least five five Clips kind of the five most important plays from the game and uh we'll we'll see if we can dive into that if I can't get that finished in time we'll do it tomorrow but we want to make sure throughout this season one of the mistakes I made last year is letting that chalk talk go a little too far into the next week because we want to review that tape as quick as possible hey here's here's the reasons here's what happened why H why it happened and uh and go ahead and move on to the next opponent so we can start breaking down them and doing a little scouting on that front so that's the plan moving forward as we go a little deeper into this season so let's do this let's talk about um really the the number one topic today is is Jordan love right everybody's awaiting okay what's the injury how how's what's the severity of the injury we've heard it could have been an e an ACL we heard it could have been an MCL we heard some people were saying PCL other people were saying no it's an ank um it's amazing how we can all watch the same thing and and Come Away with different opinions on something but that's a that's the world we live in for sure so here's the latest on the Jordan love front um Let me give a shout out to everybody in the chat real quick first of all Nick Main in the house good to see you buddy what's up Nathan we got Greg in here Romero Hill uh let's see Jen Riot good morning Jen good to see you in here maam and we got Venom slash what's up Venom appreciate you dropping through and Nick mcain just became a new member here on YouTube appreciate you supporting the channel Nick you're the man thank you so much buddy um so Jordan love I'm going to show three or four different reports here or different tweets and we'll just kind of take them for what they are okay we'll to me anytime you get conflicting reports of how long an injuri is going to last what I personally like to do is take all the information into consideration to create the proper expectation me as a fan first of all just uh uh being an absolute nut for football and wanting to know all right When's the earliest he can be back wins the latest to expect him back baring any setbacks right so first tweet we're going to put out Ian raport tweeted out all these tweets came out about 16 hours ago my understanding is Jordan love has between a grade one and a grade two MCL spring which means he'll miss a few weeks but not extended time now he had quote tweeted himself that said uh Packers quarterback Jordan love who went down with a lower leg injury late in his team's loss to the Eagles in Brazil had tests on his knee today that revealed an MC spring sources said no ACL damage now listen I'm not a doctor we've made that joke thousand times I'm not going to continue to do that but the ACL to the best of my knowledge and the people I know in the medical field the ACL is a ligament that attaches the bottom part of your knee to the top part and and really it runs through the joint okay and we're we're not going to take the time to pull up the diagrams the ACL is the big one because it kind of holds the entire knee structure together right it goes right through the center of the knee cap and attaches so with the MCL little bit different story the fact that it's a sprain not a complete tear that's that's great news obviously so Ian Rapaport saying it's between a grade one and a grade two they've got all the way up to my understanding a Grade Three which is kind of the more severe one obviously and there are you know out times that are attached to each grade so the fact that it's between a one and a two pretty darn good news for Packer fans all right next report nfl.com just tweeted out Tom pis reported Packers quarterback Jordan Love's initial timetable for return is 3 to six weeks okay so Tom peliso is saying three to six weeks we actually got that exact tweet Tom pisero tweeted out Packers quarterback Jordan Love's initial timetable for return is in the three to six week range per sources um and there's some early optimism he could return sooner than later pending a second opinion uh next three opponents Colts at home Titan are at the Titans and then the Vikings at home so the fact that they're they're going for a second opinion if it's between a one and a two which seems to be the the most accurate report uh or the most detailed report up to this moment if it's between a one and a two and he's going for a second opinion because it might not be as bad that tells me it's closer to the one than the two now we're probably splitting hairs at this point right um but I think it's worth mentioning there so we're seeing here from Tom pisero three to six weeks pining the second opinion all right next report Adam shefer tweeted out more about Packers quarterback notice 16 hour mark so these are right right within the same hour more about the Packers quarterback Jordan love believed to have suffered a sprain MCL that could sideline him three to four weeks so shefy is reporting three to four weeks so what we have here are conflicting reports of three to six weeks three to four weeks all right I think as pack fans it would be pretty smart to say let's base our expectations around a 3 to six week window now is there a chance that he throws a brace on it and plays next week I think it's highly unlikely based on the information we have up to this point but I wouldn't roll it out either you know what I'm saying so I'm planning on as a Packer fan three to six weeks three being in the earliest six being in the latest and uh and plan for the worst hope for the best type thing now Jordan love is an absolute dog that dude he's probably the most selfless guy on the team he's a leader in every every sense of the word and listen I know he didn't have the best game the other night his accuracy was was a little off uh several times throughout the game obviously finished at right at 50 or a little under 50% I think it was right at 50% completion percentage you've seen some of those throws were just missing the mark you know could have been some of the turf we talked about the slippage and all that stuff that that definitely could be a factor but I think this dude just based off his leadership style he's chomping at the bit if it were up to him he'd probably be out there next week even with the MCL strein uh you know brace that thing up wrap that thing up protect it as much as you can now does that give you the best shot to win the game probably not right so now the question becomes do you do you roll out Malik Willis out there uh with you know very little knowledge of the Playbook or do you go with Sean Clifford that's a decision Matt laflor has to make a practice week and determine okay I think we would all agree we're we're about 95% sure Jordan is not playing this way I just don't see I don't see it happening again I hope hope I'm wrong but you got to make a decision it's gonna be Sean Clifford who understands the Playbook and I go back to like all right how did he perform in training camp as he threw a ton of picks now granted training camp if you play checkdown Charlie as a backup quarterback or a scout team quarterback in practice or training camp the coaches are not going to be happy they want you to push the envelope right they want you to try to push the ball down the field they want you to put stress on the defense they're trying to work on specific uh route combinations against this specific defensive look and on and on so you know I you got to kind of take those interceptions with a grain of salt now when you go to the preseason performance I think the one inter I think he threw one interception that one interception he threw Matt laflor said after the game that was on uh I think it was on I can't remember if it was Musgrave or who no maybe it was Musgrave it was on the receiver that they ran the wrong choice route they didn't break it off at the right basically what laflor said was no that wasn't on Shawn that was on the receiver okay so if you were to remove that interception and say okay he did everything correct um for the most part it doesn't mean he played great but he didn't make that minimal mistake we thought he did gives you a little more hope about how sean Clifford can play Within this system because the reality is we're we're looking at three to six weeks man let's just try to try to win a couple games while Jordan's out if you can split these games how if he misses two two games if you could win one of them if he misses four games if you could win two of them right God forbid he misses six if somehow someway you can win three of them that's kind of the goal here right is I think you're going to lean on the run a little bit more I think you're going to play uh you're not going to take as many deep shots which is pretty wild to think about because Sean Clifford threw a lot of deep shots uh in that in that week one or in that last preseason game remember he came out of the gate like first two throws of the game he was just throwing nine Fades I think it was either the boow or Heath or or uh maybe do both he was just taking shots down the sideline um but I think you got to kind of play Within the structure of the offense and and that's a beautiful thing about the Shanahan sha McVey Matt laflor offense if a quarterback's accurate there's always an answer to the equation on every single play the question is are you smart enough to get to that answer within the play Within the concept do you have the arm strength or on the other side the touch to layer the ball in to where it needs to go on that specific concept and do you have the accuracy to get the ball there um you know when it comes to Shawn Clifford Malik Willis I think the main thing you got to take into consideration is their understanding of the offense because that's really uh you know you're already going to be limited on some of the plays that Matt may or may not want to call because of the the lack of armed talent that both of these guys have but when you don't understand the offense man you really thin that playbook in right now beautiful thing is you get a full week to work on that actually a little more than a week right that's one of the advantages of playing on Friday night you got I guess an extra two days we need to look at the schedule here real quick um let's see so you play Indie yeah it's going to be a Sunday game so you got an extra two days right in between there um so you got what nine days total now I know they were traveling this and that but you're going to have a little extra time to prep whichever quarterback is going to be playing in this game so um I want to hear your all's take in the comments I want to know who would you rather start if Jordan love is out this week would you rather see Shan Clifford or would you rather see Malik Willis I'm gonna try to go in to the uh the control room here real quick and do this on the Fly on YouTube and I'm going to see if we can set up a poll question for that right now y'all just bear with me you're going to hear me stuttering and buying time for just a second I'm gonna say who would you rather start at QB this week all right and the uh options are going to be Sean Clifford or Malik Willis all right po question is up guys let's uh everybody get your votes in I want to see how you all feel about that question there because for me I'm kind of Torn To be honest with you I'm looking for somebody to sway me one way or the other um I like the fact that Sean Clifford probably understands the the offense much much more than Malik Willis but I also understand Malik Willis's legs are a factor too that dude can uh can break out he's one of the one of the fastest quarterbacks in the league to the best of my knowledge now I don't know if he actually ran a 40 time before the combine and everything but they were saying he was the fastest player on his college team even faster than the receivers in the DBS so um you get a little bit of that you can throw a little read option in there if you need to a little Zone read to just make the make the defense hesitate maybe you limmit it to two or three RPO looks off that zone read look as well so you you basically can shift you can lean into the short passing game RPO style offense to get you through these next few weeks that could be the case right uh now if you go with Sean Clifford I feel like the playbooks opened up a lot more you know you could kind of go in and all right we we don't necessarily have to cut out any of the place Sean Clifford's got the arm strength to throw deep he just don't have the arm talent to throw off platform the way Jay loved does which with what we seen in the second half last season I want to keep specifying that um but yeah we'll uh we'll see what everybody thinks here I'll keep checking in on the poll question when we're flying solo guys I apologize I can't hit on the chat as much I'm G to try to glance through here um I'll definitely focus on the super chats because they highlight real easy but um I'm trying to see if uh if anyone in here I know Jen some of these names I trust I know they're not going to say anything inappropriate that I could just I get halfway through the comment go oh shouldn't have read that let's move on but Jen R says they saw something they liked in Willis give them a go can always switch to Clifford if that's a great Point too Jim because if Jordan is deactivated for game day right you're GNA have at least two quarterbacks elevated or you know obviously Malik Willis is already on the roster you'll activate him and then you'll Elevate Clifford again uh or Elevate Clifford for the first time you already saved one of those elevations right because I think the rule is you can only elevate a practice squad player to the game day roster three times throughout the season so you haven't used that yet you're going to use one up this week probably that way you don't have to put Clifford on the 53 man roster I didn't think about that really Jen I think that's a great Point like what if you went through and you said all right let's give Malik Willis a go and you get halfway through the first half or or through the first half and hey look man you ain't been able to hit a bulling ass with a mop all right let's get Sean Clifford in there and see what he can do right that could be the case that might be that might be a good little game plan there that's a great comment for sure we got relax in the chat good to see you buddy he said uh should be Clifford all right like it man made his uh was known there Nick main says I think since Clifford has been in the system longer uh they wouldn't have to change as much to cater to him completely agree you know like I said the only the only real difference there is is the arm talent and we say that as if it's a small thing right it's really everything at the NFL level it's one third one4 of the equation you guys know that when looking for a good quarterback I feel like there's four aspects you got to have pre- snap read ability post Snap read reactionary you know being able to kind of post Snap uh read the defense and adjust uh accuracy and quick release right um I feel like Clifford's got decent accuracy I do um and and here's the thing like we haven't seen what Clifford can do with the starters it's it's easy for everybody to tear a guy down when the only time we see him is when he's with second third stringers you know what I mean like he he's playing with the second team in practice too so when he throws those picks it's like ah you know it's not like he got first team reps there uh in in training camp so that is something that something else that comes into play and and he was playing with the backups obviously we didn't play any of our starters for the most part in preseason so that is a factor to coming to play too so seems like the majority of people are on Clifford but uh yeah we'll we'll see here Jeremy uh see Jeremy uh Hatter in the chat good to see you buddy says I want us to get Ryan tanah Hill that's definitely a name that's been thrown thrown around Jeremy uh if we don't our season will be in Jeopardy because it's going to be hard to overcome this people saying he's going to be out closer to eight weeks because p ERS are cautious with injuries I'd like to know who those people are Jeremy I haven't seen that yet and here's the thing when you get these reports like we just showed you um let's see here uh nfl.com obviously is just repeating Tom peliso where did Tom peliso get his information from right you got to take that into consideration where did he get his information from where did ad Adam schfer get his information from um now I don't think the Green Bay Packers front office is given this information out so that tells me that it's probably the players camp that gave that info out right I could be wrong maybe maybe goody staff did did give that info out but that could be something that it was leaked out by the players Camp because I mean the reality is these insiders they've got access to both the team and and the players uh representation right their agents and all that so um maybe you're right maybe it is closer to eight weeks you know I I wouldn't Bank on it because the information that's coming out is saying three to six weeks and if it is closer to a grade one than a grade two if it's in between a grade one and a grade two then that report right there is definitely wrong they're not GNA be extra cautious and keep them out for eight weeks because there's no reason to be cautious you know if it's if that truly is if the second opinion shows that it is what they think it is uh as Dennis Green would once say they are who we thought they were um it's going to be between the grade one and the grade two then there's no way beat eight weeks unless he has a setback you know but uh maybe I'm being a little little too uh little too wishful thinking here so all right let's see what else we got here Jay do says Clifford Willis know better than Matt Flynn Brett Hy oh I wan to I want to go back to the the tanah hill comment the thing about tanah Hill um yes he's played from it's my understanding he's played within this system um with Arthur Smith in Tennessee um he did not have a year with Matt lefl but Arthur Smith took over as OC when Matt left so I can't imagine they changed too much about the offensive structure but even when you're playing within the quote unquote same system that verbage changes big time that the difference you know one of the and I'm not saying you're doing this Jeremy but there's there's many people that they're very lazy and they think okay when they we hire Matt lefor we're running Shanahan's offense we're not running Shanahan's offense we never ran Shanahan's offense we've talked about it from day one on this podcast since we started back in 2022 doing the show they're running sha MC Bay's offense and even with Shawn mcvey's offense little bit different wrinkle with the way Matt runs it than Shawn does right Shawn wanted to run 12 Personnel but he got such a stacked receiving core when he first got there at the Rams he was forced to shift more into 11 right you could tell Matt leans a little more into 12 albeit not more than 11 personnel just you know comparatively speaking to other teams Matt ran more 12 Personnel one running back two tight ends than any other team in the league last year so he presses a little bit further into 12 while Shawn lays back a little more into 11 now that may change now it may have changed a little bit last year I haven't know back into the Rams and Shanahan's more of a 1121 Personnel because he's got use check which to be real with you the 21 stuff you know use check in in most cases they're throwing them out there in a Wing Spot too so it's not like not Wing Stop I know Eric suland just got hungry Wing Spot so they they're they're not playing as much ey as some might think they are but there is bit of difference there so the fact that you think tanah Hill is just going to come in and pick the offense right boom we're off and running I don't if tanah Hill was that good he would be in the league right now I know there's some reports saying oh he's waiting for a certain he was waiting for this very moment right here okay I mean if if we try to look at it from Jeremy's perspective here too let's let's look at it from both sides um I mean you think about what Joe flacko did right he came they caught him off the couch and D one comeback player of the year over a guy who died on the field like in dear hlin so maybe you know get you through this little stretch I can understand that opinion I'm not leaning into it too much um because I just don't know if the I don't know how I don't know if he's gonna have Russ to knock off you know what I'm saying it's not like tany Hill's just gonna come in and pick up where he played his best ball and the last time we seen him he wasn't playing that good a ball right so um respect the opinion for sure though man all right let's see what else we got in here real quick uh just want to make sure we're hitting everybody uh let's let's actually let's go to Crystal here crystal said I saw one to two weeks looking back at Jones 33 and M and his MCL spring and when they brought him back as a running back in all caps great point a lot more stress on those knees at the running back position than quarterback so man if if we get out of this Crystal with just one week I'm going be thinking sweet baby Jesus let me tell you because that would be awesome if you just had to play one game without jaylo as long as the doctors Ru hey there's no there's no big chance of re-entering it you know what I'm saying if it's something like hey you're really pushing if you put him back n let's don't let's don't play that game let's don't uh put oursel in a position where we could have waited two or three weeks and instead we had to try to rush him back now he's out for the year because something God forbid something happen so all right let's see here uh let's jump on down just to touch here um actually let's let's go right here Jen Riot says uh going to trade for someone or pay for two games of Love is out longer than maybe um I think I understand what you're saying there Jen I apologize if the if the uh punctuation if the uh the topping isn't absolutely perfect for this dumb redneck I tend to botch it um I don't know man if if what you're saying is you agree with that or you asking a question I think I'd rather go with their current situation because how much money you going to have to pay Tanana Hill for a few games right and and that is going to cut into the cap next year and rollover cap is a real thing and you guys know I'm not a cap I'm not one of these cap doom and glom I just don't operate like that if you you can make it work as long as you stay ahead of the dates those effective dates those important dates those deadlines you can make the salary cap work just about any way you want it to um so when you're cutting into that and the roll over cap next year and we know Jordan loves contract situation and then you got a couple receivers going to be coming up for contract you're probably going to choose to pay one of those decent money which I mean you guys know where I stand there it's not a popular opinion but I would go to them now I would offer uh Romeo dobs and Christian Watson the same contract at about 10 million per with some heavy guaranteed money to make it a little more appealing and if they don't take it then okay you're going to be moving forward with Jaden Reed and Donavon Wix in two years you know that's kind of how I see that as it sits right now Jaden Reed is the only receiver on this team me personally that I'd be willing to pay quote unquote number one receiver money to and even that's a little bit of a stretch but paying someone now at quarterback will kind of bleed into that cap situation next year um I don't know what that number is you know if it's if it's five million or less I'm okay with it but if Tanny Hill's going no you want me to be your starting quarterback I'm gonna need 12 million no sir ain't happen that's just me um all right let's see what else we got in here real quick uh Nick mcwain see what Nathan had to say here Clayton did you see that video where Josh Jacobs ran out of bounds and immediately turned around and he saw jaylo on the ground and it's just his heart just sank oh I did not see that I don't want to see it gosh I can only imagine what he's thinking because they know how good this kid is right and obviously Josh Jacobs and I think it was Josh Jacobs and Xavier McKenna both name dropped Jordan love after they signed with the Packers right if I remember correct feels like it was years ago now uh when free agency happened just short a few short months ago but um yeah I can only imagine what he felt like uh man like that there goes the season especially because when I seen Jordan love the way he was you know responding on the ground I immediately thought at first I thought okay man he has completely broke his ankle something like Dak Prescott right because the way he got rolled up on but then when you seen that other replay of the knee kind of you know anytime the knee shifts from left to right and you could see either the top of the bottom State station area and that cap adjust that's usually indication that that ACL through the middle of the kneecap gave right um but thank God that wasn't it I can only imagine what was going through his mind I haven't seen the video though uh Nathan hopefully I don't because I I I man the these guys you could tell man they're they're all in for this year and next year too right they're they're thinking this the window is open um hopefully like I said this is close closer to one week of of Jordan love missing than than that six or eight weeks that some people are talking about so um Ben Holden said he look man you got to move on he said after after Dr drowning my sorrows about love I'm excited to see Willis a quarterback okay so you're leaning Willis got it man all right let's see here Jay do says does Love's injury change our defensive approach they will have to carry us for a month or so based off what we seen from the defense the other night um hope that's not the case man there's Playmakers on this team which you know when the games on the line think play or not play if Jay love is out you got to look around and go okay who are your top Playmakers on offense I was really really happy with Josh Jacobs performance the other night once once the Run blocking kind of started to take off in the second half you seen him come alive that first half you could tell they were really keying in on we're going to shut down the Run that's you know they being in Philly and then once once Jordan started gashing them a little bit you've seen they they backed off the Touch once the offense the offensive line weren't so overwhelmed it felt like Josh Jacobs really got it going so you got to think Josh Jacobs Jaden Reed we gotta get Christian Watson out there stretching the field you guys remember in the offseason every not everybody I gotta quit saying that some people were saying Christian Watson he's that number one receiver and he's drawing the attention away from everyone else and he's drawing double teams and I'm going I watched the tape all year I didn't see them bracket covering him now were the DBS respecting his his speed absolutely when he were in a one-on-one situation they weren't giving it up I don't know if you guys noticed their Friday night but they you know quinam they weren't given a whole lot of help to Christian Watson's side and the snaps I remember quinam Mitch was on him and we took one deep shot to him after that it was pretty much it you know and that's not the dog Christian I'm just simply saying that's that's what I've seen this whole time up to this point you know when you think of the Dallas game and when he kind of had that coming out party when Aaron was still the quarterback there in 2022 and you remember the Deep shot play that was bump and run man coverage right they're no longer playing bump and run that's why I've always mentioned since then like it feels like defenses are giving them a little cushion so they can't he can't burn him over the top but they're not bracket covering they're not rotating coverage over him they're not going bullseye on Christian why is it just not happening right so um I think you got to make sure he's flexed out wide and you got to continue to stretch the defense and if they don't bot you're going to have to give him some 50-50 balls I mean the dude's watch 6'4 and runs a 4340 you're gonna have to you're gonna have to try to get defenses to respect him at some point and again this is even with Sean Clifford or Malik Willis you know it's amazing we get these backups in the game all of a sudden we think they can't throw a you know 55 yard pass it's like everybody in the NFL at the quarterback position can throw a 55 yard pass need to air it out a little bit to open things up underneath but the answer the equation for me as far as defense Jay I I don't want to be negative man I really don't we we talked about it listen I got roasted last year I mean I got raked over the coals over Joe Barry and and I was and my opinion hasn't changed like we finished 12 in scoring defense last year you know I pulled up pulled up the graphic the numbers uh during the postgame show and again it's not to run a Victory lap I'm just trying to help people understand understand I don't have the graphic anymore but when it comes to points per game um if you took this game well we gave up what 30 was it 32 points I believe it was if I remember correctly me look at my ticker I had up here real quick give me just a second guys um 34 points if you were to take that 34 points and implement it into last year's scoring and listen I know it's only one game that would have been dead last in the league and and that's why I don't buy into all this dvoa and you got to stop this you got to stop that it's the the name of the game is Hell high water keep the other team from scoring points you want to score this is and people are going this is the stupidest thing I've ever heard I agree but you gotta say it the goal is to score as many points on offense and prevent the defense from scoring points everything about Joe Barry's defense was geared around keeping everything in front of you they can score but here's what's going to happen it's going to take 12 13 play Drive they're going to have to go all the way down the field and then The Field's going to shorten when they get in the Red Zone they're going to make a mistake we're going to hold them to a field goal or you know get a turnover turnover is killed us last year and and when people talk about well Joe Barry's defense just didn't force turnovers we had seven dropped interceptions last year you you if you took three quarters of those seven drops and the players actually caught them and I'm talking about dead drops I'm not talking about oh that was a tough interception to make if you were to do that your turnover differential obviously you're you're way in the Plus you probably plus four plus five on turnover differential where we think we broke even last year zero um whole different ball game but you know I mean if you're saying hey Will Will a defense carry us for a month or so man it's going to get better I believe it'll get better I'm I'm praying it'll get better because they're going to get more and more comfortable in this defense they being the players right that's that's the goal they should but when you go from a four the difference between a 4-3 front and a three four front right is the 4-3 is more aggressive and everybody loves that idea but when you're aggressive with the 4-3 front guess what that does it makes you a little more vulnerable to explosive Place You' seen it the other night you've seen the explosive place with a 34 Jam it's a two Gap approach in the base like everybody acts like every time they were out there on nickel they were running two Gap that's not that's not true it's simply not true that's what Matt was trying to say last year as well like remember the Pittsburgh a game when people were going yeah you got these two down lineman he's going you guys are exposing yourselves there's four there's technically four defensive lineman out there two of them are just standing up on the edge right and when you're in a nickel a nickel set there's they're not two gapping in nickel it's not happening especially when you're showing that twoo high shell too you know and he was talking about how the safeties would meet the rum fit for Pittsburgh when they were in a shell cover which by the way did you guys notice the shell coverage the other night played a lot of shell again I tried to prep people like it and it's not because I'm so smart I'm I'm I'm probably the dumbest one in this in this room right now but every defense in the league play shell and and it's to deter the quarterback from throwing the ball down the field and and keep everything kind of in front of you it's just how much you know what percentage You're Gonna Play so um anyway I want to get into the PFF grades here so let's uh let's jump into I appreciate y'all in the chat this is a good conversation though again just want to get that info out on Jordan love and uh and exactly how that that may not play into uh here the the first quarter of the season because again the the schedule Indianapolis coachs at Lambo right listen there are no slam dunks in the National Football League we gotta say we can never say that too much there's no slam dunks in the National Football League um but Indianapolis coats that's a winnable game right at the Tennessee Titans on the road's always tough in the NFL but that's a winnable game and then the Minnesota Vikings at home with Sam darnold at quarterback the fact that it's at home that's a winnable game you know I had them going three and one through this first four weeks and and and when when I look at that look at the schedule it's okay Eagles Colts Titans Vikings you had to pick one of those games to be a loss which one would it be it would be the Eagles hands down I don't think anybody in the chat would disagree with me there that's why I get frustrated when I hear other people talking about oh we're gonna yeah we're going to smoke the Eagles ain't no problem like we and and listen people fan how they want to fan but when when you look at the history of the league and how hard it is to win ball games and you look at that four game stretch that's why I always go okay so you're expecting them to go 17 and0 then that is that what we're expecting here that's not what I'm expecting I want to make sure people understand that's not what I'm expecting I'm expecting 10 to 13 wins now you look at schedule how does that shake out where are you getting those 10 wins at um I would be extremely happy if we're two and two if we are two and two going into this uh you know starting week five man i' be like I said happy as aosome in a dumpster no doubt about it because what what you got to do is you got to pull out two of these wins between the Colts Titans and the VOD and uh two of them are at home one's on the that one on the road is definitely winnable no matter who your quarterback is it is winnable but we're about to find out how good Matt laflor is and you know that's the other thing too with every uh adversity lies a seed of of equal or greater benefit one of the things that we have an opportunity to do here as an organization as a team is Matt lafur has a chance to really prove his worth everybody it was always only reason he wins Aaron Rogers then it's well he got him another great quarterback goody did it again it's like nobody's giving him any props if he goes out and splits these four games right here if Jordan were to miss the four games you know which is kind of right in that window of three to six weeks we were to go out there and split those and then go on and make the playoffs yeah somebody better put some spec on his name because that's that's a phenomenal coaching job so um it's going to be interesting man again people get depressed when you lose a player like this and and it sucks man um I absolutely love uh I you know I love Jordan love like I think he is everything you want in to start quarterback I think he's everything that you want to start quarterback but when a player goes down I don't immediately shift to well the season's over this sucks no man it's it's an opportunity like to go out there and shock everybody and and and that's why like even when they drafted Sean Clifford I get a little bit excited because I'm like they seen something to give up whatever it was a fifth round pick for him right to be able to use a fifth round pick on Sean Clifford they see something in that kid that they think hey he can win us some ball games if we need to it's an opportunity for the team to Rally around those guys too right now the byproduct of that in the National media is is there a quarterback controversy if the Packers come out they win the next three games without Jordan love there will be some knucklehead saying there's a quarterback controversy that would be happening in reality the team might be ultra focused on hey look we got to be on our PS and q's because we don't have 10 out there and the coach is going to be completely zoned in and ask more of his assistance that hey we've got a game plan our ass off against these teams we got to make sure we find every single weakness every single Advantage starting at the front when they're when they like to play a lot of over we need to come up with the best weak side Zone run game scheme in the entire world right if they like to play a lot of under and bring that that Sam up on the line of scrimmage and you know present that fiveman front we need to have the best play action game plan in the entire league and be able to pull those backers up and play action and Hammer at that mid level all those things it's an opportunity you know and as fans it's an opportunity for us to get behind this team a little bit more too you know don't be depressed if you see on your timeline people being depressed over this and it's oh we're screwed oh I'm telling you man the greatest tool on Twitter is that block button that block button and that mute button there's nothing better than than someone who just constantly tweets at you and it's negative negative NE Packer fans negative negative negative when you hit that mute button it's like they're talking to a wall you can't see it anymore and they're just still talking I think it's hilarious so control what's what's coming in right and I'm telling you man don't be depressed we waited all year for football season there's and and now we're going to be depressed here now hell I ain't I ain't buying in man I ain't buying a ticket that train ain't gonna happen so um yeah jcole said I blocked a lot of people me too buddy I'm telling you it's it is liberating too let me tell you we got a bunch of people in here appreciate y'all making us part of you Sunday morning how cool is it we got almost 200 people in probably over 200 including Rumble watching in here on a Sunday morning um hope y'all have an awesome day it's gonna be a good good day of football uh one of the things I want to hit on real quick was schedule and then you know what we're going to go a little long here early since we got such a good crowd in here um so today the big thing that I'm looking for guys is uh uh the Bears Titans game for multiple reasons and uh I do want to say thank you someone in there uh Ben Holden thank you for the compliment buddy I seen it I I don't want to be that that ass hat that puts it on the screen and and toots my own horn but I really appreciate what you said man I really do um let's see uh so week one schedule one o'clock game I'm looking for Bears Titans two different reasons I love rooting against the Bears I'm a Packers fan right you get to see what Caleb Willi now it's it's put up or shut up they've already painted him out to be the next Jordan and he could be guys listen that there is a chance that Caleb Williams is the truth he is the real deal he's got Elite armed Talent there's no doubt about it but when those bullets start flying on Sunday it's a whole different mess whole different mess it's one thing to wake up in the morning with that cup of coffee and look out that pig pin going I'm going to go clean that up it's another thing get knee knee deep in it and start shoveling you know what I'm saying like it we're we're about to see what Caleb Williams is about now he's got a fairly easy opponent in the Titans and it is at home so I expect the Bears to win that game me personally but man I'm gonna be watching every snap and I hope I hope the Titans pull it off and here's the thing I want to I want to happen I want the Titans to put all their cards on the table to try to win this game because because if they do come out with a dubb that hurts the Bears heck yeah that's that's good news for a Sunday and the second aspect is the Titans put their best of the best out there as far as schematics on a game day now we got something to kind of dig into on how we're going to beat the Titans next week right in week three I should say so we'll be in the house for that game I'm trying to get organized I'm gonna get organized with the guys here and see if they can do a postgame show because me and ailio will be down there and and maybe we can call in for a few minutes and and chat it up want to keep the content going for y'all but obviously it's going to be very difficult for me to do a postgame show we may end up spending the night down there in a hotel if we do then I'll make sure I take the Surface tablet and we'll try to do a live show later that evening or something too but we also want to take in the sites of of Nashville and try to try to soak it in Nashville's a pretty cool town so but what I'm looking for one o'clock window Bears Titans that's the big thing for me okay I want to look uh I want to look at the Bears Titans today um at one o'clock and I'm trying to see when do the Vikings play Vikings one o'clock window too there you go so we'll go double box on that one which by the way Direct TV on YouTube TV is gonna be phenomenal you can create your own custom quad box now that's going to be sick so on my quad box it'll be Bears Titans it'll be Vikings Giants right with those two games the Lions don't play till later this evening so as far as the one o00 window other games I'd be interested in Texans Colts let's get a look at the Colts too see what we're up against next week at Lambo so those will be the three games that'll be in the triy Box let's just say that we might throw we might throw a little Bengal Patriots out there just to laugh at the Patriots and the fact that they ran off the greatest coach of all time and now they're about to Waller and crap for the next decade that's going to be hilarious to me so all right uh Nick main says Caleb was 10 for 20 in the preseason man I'm telling you well Nick there and and if you tuned in to Twitter and uh and ESPN and all the the big networks you would think that he was just Immaculate that's that stuff matters right there man he was is is you know when he throws on the run and that Elite arm talent and all that when he when he makes a play it's phenomenal right but rarely does the main mainstream Media Sports media talk about how inefficient it is and that was the thing I keep I keep thinking of what Greg coell said um he said when he was asked about Caleb Williams he didn't talk much about him but when he was asked about Caleb Williams leading up to the draft Greg coell said my understanding is my friends around the league absolutely love his arm Talent that's all he said he didn't say when you turn on the tape you see this you see that like gr Co usually does sometimes it's what people don't say that's louder than what they say and yeah that that kind of stood out to me man um Romero says Clayton you're smarter than most of those expert broadcasters uh I respectfully disagree Romero but I appreciate but I appreciate the comment man I'm just I just love football man that's it and and here's the thing I'm wrong a lot you guys heard me say it on this show if you if if you haven't heard or saw me do something stupid yet hang around it's coming everybody gets stuff wrong right it's just trying to learn okay what did I miss there that's the big thing so um all right guys that'll be the end of hour one for those of you listening on the P we will see you on the other side for hour two all right let's do this let's jump into some PFF grades and you y all bear with me as I get it pulled up here we're going to get the screen adjusted but hopefully you can actually see it we've got the PFF grades from the Packers Eagles game here I'm just going to go full screen and see if we can bend this a little bit to where you guys can actually see it so first things first I really like to get into okay what did they do well uh maybe what do they they do not so well what what happened in the game why did it happen here are the PFF grades as a team against the Eagles obviously the Packers lost 34 to 29 overall grade was a 6 6.3 I'm pretty sure of all the teams that have played up to this point um and if you guys would hit that like button I see we got a bunch of people just jumped in here hit the like button help boost the algorithm help other Packer fans find this channel find this content we appreciate y'all hanging out with us um but overall I think we were the lowest graded team of the four teams that have played right now that that doesn't make a hill of beam if we were the lowest graded team in the entire week one listen get look at everything in quarters get a quarter of the way through the season now we look at okay what's the team actually look like because you're going to have ups and downs that if we come out and we grad it out in the 90s overall I'd be saying the same thing guys just one game let's look at it over a quarter Mark okay but 60.3 overall the offensive grade was a 69.4 okay the defensive grade was a 50.7 so PFF suggests the offense carried carried the knot I would wholeheartedly agree with that and I know there's some people that that still don't and they kind of blame the offense for the defense as I don't understand that thinking and that's okay we can you know who who's to say I'm right and they're wrong um offensively passing was a 60.7 pass blocking was a 77.7 I mean they really held held up pretty well in pass blockings um that's that was the thing that was so discouraging about Jordan love throwing off platforms so much in the fade away I I want to keep referencing Jake shink said it on Twitter he said man live tweeted during the game which I try not to do unless it's something positive but Jake shink said man Jordan love really drifting out there that's what he meant and you could see it soon as he said I Jake seeing the same thing I am see you know because he's just he's getting too too comfortable with the off platform there was times he didn't need to do it and then he threw a couple of worm burners right just dirted the ball uh there was one PL pass in particular I think it was the Jaden Reed on a Crosser and he just he skipped that thing to him and you could see with his mechanics held on the ball too long got out over his skis kept his finger on the ball too long and tried to put too much zip on it you just got to play comfortable I think he'll get comfortable hopefully this injury doesn't set that back too much but passing grade 60.7 uh pass blocking 77.7 receiving grade 63.9 all right running grade 73.2 and run blocking 70.8 the only one I would disagree with there and not necessarily disagree but the one that surprised me I'll just say that would be the Run blocking and and then when you take into consideration how well they run blocked in the second half as opposed to the first half is probably about right 70.8 so um what's the big eyesore there according to PFF again this isn't everything this is just another tool we can use on the offensive side of the ball the passing grade was what what looked the worst and and you can see it you can see it with Jordan the accuracy was off we talked about all game it's all throughout my notes pass behind should have been caught though pass behind should have been caught you get to about the fourth or fifth one of those it's okay Jordan's having a bad night it is what it is right so that's your offensive team grades now on the defensive side like we said a 50.7 that's horrible man that's absolutely horrible run defense grade 52.5 doesn't surprise me because when you switch from a 34 to a 43 the your running defense is going to take a little bit of a hit that's you're going to create more tackles for a loss you're going to create more uh you know pressure on the quarterback because you're playing one Gap out of the base but it doesn't necessarily mean that that's going to help in the running game typically it has a an opposite that's that's the message we tried to get across all offseason it's only one game maybe he'll be able to scheme up something a lot better there against Indy tackle grade 62.9 doesn't surprise me um did you guys notice that the new players that were added to this team on defense they tackle it's trying to think of how to word this and not sound like a jerk the guys who were missing tackles they were missing tackles last year you know what I'm saying like you you've seen guys J Alexander miss a couple tackles right J Alexander blown blow blew a few coverages too one of which was an explosive touchdown like that's that's the home run hitter right there uh but as far as the tackling Xavier McKenna to me looked all right that guy can tackle Javon Bullard looked good other than the one miss tackle where he just glanced off the guy I think he was trying to smack at the ball trying to create a turnover but you you can do that uh but if you're going to be Charles Woodson lot you better make sure you've you've perfected that because the top priority is to tackle the ball walk carry right rather than just trying to punch it out he'll he'll learn from that I like what I seen from Javon Bullard albeit he didn't have a great game but it's like okay it didn't seem too big for him right um edrian Cooper man when I watch the tape we gotta get him on the field that came quick he's healthy now that's obvious gotta get his butt on the field I personally think he has an opportunity to be way better than Quay Walker that's just me now what does Quay do well he's great in coverage you got to put him in a position to maximize that edrien Cooper could be great in coverage too man his ability to attack the ball you've seen the burst the first step holy cow Quay Walker has the same physical ability as as uh as uh Cooper Edan Cooper the difference is Quay is hesitant on his run fits and edrian Cooper start stop shoot he shoots his shot and it was only like 11 or maybe 15 snaps but dude he looked like he belong we got to get his butt on the field I don't care what you got to do uh and Now's the Time to do it too because everybody's going ah with Jordan out are we going to win these throw him out there trial by fire let's get it going I think Edan Cooper belongs pass rush grade 61.5 look at here coverage grade 49.8 that's discouraging because you bring in half coach Halley and I have all the faith in him in the world I think he's going to be a good defensive coordinator but I expected that number to be what carried the defense it's actually what drug us down you know so uh again the players got to go out there and make the plays I I didn't find oursel many times in a situation where it's like oh that was scheme there was one play in particular inside the 20 I hope I can remember that included in chalk talk but there was one play in particular inside the 20 that was a running play where they had the ha count it was literally including the running back there were plus one on the ha count I'm going oh that's bad scheme there bad scheme and we were in a underlook without a Sam being on the on the line without the strong side linebacker being on the line or the mck in that case I think it was 11 personnel and we were shaded to the strong uh to the underside and it was just hat count Central I was like oh no when I as soon as they handed the ball went oh that was scheme and I went back and watched the replay I'm like yeah they had us plus one in the Hat count that cannot happen that can't Happ teams will run all over you when you got a hat count like that and it didn't happen all day maybe someone lined up wrong I don't know it could have been on the players but yeah so coverage grade though 49.8 and then special teams grade 52.6 so there is your team grade all right again overall 60.3 offense 69.4 defense was 50 point UHA 50.7 all right now let's jump into offense here let's see who graded out well on offense we try to get this zoomed in for y'all and let's keep it about right there so leading the way surprise surprise Zack Tom 67 snaps guys he graded out a 92.0 and you know we showed in the PFF preview and I don't know who was lined up over him I haven't watched Zack Tom's you know specific box tape probably won't either because I the dude's good I'm moving on to try to find the holes that's just me uh but man he dominated 85.0 pass block grade it was supposed to be Brandon Graham lined up over him I don't know if that ended up being the case or not we'd have to go look at the tape run blocking 93.2 Z penalties that dude's about to make some Bank when you talk about modeling your roster in the salary cap remember what we just talked about with the wide receivers you got two receivers that are going to be coming up for contract uh next year will be the last year on their deal that's Romeo dobs Christian Watson okay and then I told you you got Jaden Reed and Davon Wicks the year after that Jaden Reed is the only Receiver right now that I see like okay he's worth the big bucks okay so you've got Jordan Love's contract starting to kick in albe it it's still affordable in the 20 millions of uh as far as cap hit you're good there but Zack Tom you got to figure out a way to get him paid you you overpay for great you never overpay for good right I feel like Romeo dobs and Christian Watson are good they're not great receivers they're good receivers so you don't want to overpay for that Jaden Reed so far great receiver you're willing to overpay for that he came in second 89.2 it was a Jadon Reed Show in that game and that was just oh so so much fun so much fun to watch uh watch him you know play offense third Elton Jenkins 78.4 he had a 78.9 pass block grade a 74o run block green Elton Jenkins looking like the old Elton Jenkins you want to see that that's absolutely awesome he's the guy in your roster model that's making big bucks right now he's your highest paid offensive lineman number four Emanuel Wilson 69.8 drops off tremendously doesn't 92 89 78 now we're at 69.8 but Emanuel Wilson had a good game only 16 snaps and and I'll tell you this there was many times that there was nowhere to run and that dude just bounced it outside and and that's a great weapon to have when they're really trying to clog up the Run LS because when you do that now they got to be a little more hesitant okay we're just going to jam up the middle now we really gota we really got to watch those bounceback lanes and all it takes a little bit of hesitation you get them thinking about their original assignment you get them thinking about the adjustment the coach told them to make on the sideline hey look watch the bounce backs and now their mind comes off to play action they naturally bite on it you know your brain two thoughts can't occupy the human brain at the same time you ever thought about that I don't get I want to get philosophical here redneck philosophy here but two two thoughts cannot occupy your brain at the same time it's physically impossible for someone to think about two things at the same time some people are going oh my God you just blew my mind that's why when people talk about speaking things into existence when you speak something you have to think about what you're speaking and it's the only thing that can occupy your brain at that time well guess what that's what you're focused on now very rarely do we get what we deserve we almost always get what we expect right now back to football I don't know where the hell that came from but here we are um defense if they're thinking all right here's my run fit okay now we gotta what focus on the bounceback game all right their mind is completely off play action right it has to become you ever heard of football player say you do it enough times it just becomes Instinct that's what they're talking about you because your your mind can't think about all these things at once it's just got to become natural it's got to become a reaction that you that you it's like when you touch something hot you don't think oh that's hot you think get my damn hand away from that right it's same same thing like you all it takes is one or two times of getting burned and now you're it's in your mind when that stoves on I ain't putting my hand over there you got to get your mind your your your mind and your body kind of geared around okay this is no matter what happens I'm reacting this way to this and that's why when you throw these different looks and you marry up the run with the pass like Matt lethor is so good at causes problems um all right next Jordan Morgan this one made me smile only 28 snaps with 67.7 we've always talked about if a rookie grades out in the 60s it's usually a pretty good sign they're going to be a good football player so that was a great sign albe it on the uh whatever it was 28 snaps so they were rotating with Shawn Ryan Shawn Ryan got the bulk of the snaps um it looks like Jordan Morgan came in at left tackle is what they're showing I'd have to go look at the tape but nonetheless 67.7 so Shawn Ryan at Right Guard 42 snaps um but we had a total of 67 my guess is Jordan Morgan played some Right Guard snaps too I haven't looked at the Box cam yet so we'll go back when I'm doing chalk talk today and try to get an answer for that but nonetheless Jordan Morgan 67.7 pass block grade 64.0 run block grade 66.6 number six Jordan luck as bad as Jordan played still played decent 64.6 passer grade of 63.7 now listen that's not $220 Million worth right there we all know that and Jordan knows that um but yeah that's how his grade shook out Josh Jacobs seventh at 64.4 his pass blocking grade 70.3 real solid there his passing grade on passing plays was 60.4 running grade was 63.8 um so Josh Jacobs you want to see more out of him but still uh pretty decent day definitely wasn't the reason we lost that game Romeo dobs is your highest uh highest graded wide receiver not named Jaden Reed at a 63.8 Rasheed Walker 60.9 he played 67 snaps um I wonder if they just have him they just have to have him listed at left tackle so Jordan Morgan had to have played Right Guard let's see if it actually shows us the snaps I don't know if it will or not I know there's somewhere you can see it I just try not to get too hung up on that yeah I'm not seeing it we'll go back I think they just got listed got him listed in the database as a left tackle so he probably did rotate with Shawn Ryan at Right Guard um Shawn Ryan came in at 59.8 just put Jordan Morgan out there at Right Guard let's get this over with stop this rotational crap you know he's ready let's go it ain't worse than Shawn Ryan we we can see that now listen you missed on Shawn Ryan thirdd round pick it is what it is only thing worse than missing on the players refusing to accept the fact that you missed on a play Christian Watson 59.6 was his grade he was the the third highest graded receiver Bo Melton only eight snaps with a 56.2 Tucker craft had a bad game looks like his run blocking though 70.3 pass blocking 7 66.5 but in the passing game they must have seen him run a run a lazy route or something that that's got to be there because he played 64 snaps too but I expect him to get better Luke Musgrave 43.8 not looking good for Luke man Josh Meers 65 snaps 50 point one PFF grade let me take a second to hit this because I meant too earlier um there was an update on Josh Myers he left the game people were asking me in the post game do we know what's going on with Myers This is what Mattan said 10 hours ago Josh Myers left the game on the Play Jordan love got hurt Myers told me that he was cramping really bad the whole second half quote I took a set on that I don't mean to laugh that just sounds funny uh I got a couple IV bags I'm all right now so there you go Matt snan pretty much confirmed Myers it was just cramped fact that him and Jordan were cramping and other other players are cramping down there it had to be something to do with the altitude right it would have to be but anyway Malik Willis two snaps 42.5 let's try not to judge him too hard I'll tell you the big surprise for me was Davon Wicks 31 snaps his grade was a 44.0 um that was ugly guys that was bad so if you look at it from a PFF standpoint Jaden Reed dominant Romeo dobs steady Edie Christian Watson nah you see what I'm saying about not wanting to pay Romeo dobs and Christian Watson wide receiver one money just doesn't makes sense if you want to offer them 10 million per it's hard to argue that makes sense right now you know again it's just one game so we we'll revisit it we may come back later in the year and go Yep they're both worthy of number one money right let's hope that's the case let's move on to defense here real quick defensive side of the ball I'm gonna get back to the chat here in a little bit guys oh we got a super chat I apologize Nick thank you so much buddy Nick mcain says with Super Chat what do you think about tight end snap counts craft had way more than Musgrave I think it's because of blocking question mark Musgrave was also the 12th man on the field that's interesting when you say he was the 12th man on the field Nick are you confident it was his fault or you are you just saying he was one of the 12 on that on that play you know what I'm saying hopefully I asked that correctly I'm interested to see I don't know how you would how we would know unless Matt said it maybe Matt did say musra was not supposed to be on the field there now as far as the tight end snaps man I've been pretty vocal Nick um and you maybe you haven't been watching the show here lately I think Tucker Craft's your best tied end he can he can he can do more of everything you need him to do than Musgrave and that's not necessarily a knock against Musgrave mus grave is more of that hybrid wide receiver type that Flex tied in uh Tucker is that guy as you seen with the Run blocking his strength was run blocking pass blocking right so um I think uh me personally I'm going with uh with our boy Tucker CRA let me go back to offense real quick and let's just see the snap count there real quick Tucker craft 64 yeah musra 17 so it's obvious that's how they see it too and again look at look at musra run blocking I think get run block yeah 42.3 Tucker craft 70.3 so we got a Tucker Craft's your top tight end in my opinion man hopefully that answered your question there though what do you think about the snapshat I think it's indicative kind of what we've seen you know Tucker craft is your tied in one thank you Nick I'll try to keep the uh keep an eye on the super chats there sorry for the delay buddy appreciate you um all right let's see here defensively this gets me excited man it was only 11 snaps but edrian Cooper my goodness 85.9 guys we I hope they're not too hesitant with him get him on the field man get him out there on the field in the base in the nickel everything he may come back down to earth next game but who who was the who's the guy that's competing with him you got two different cats Eric Wilson 62.4 and then you've got Isaiah McDuffy gr out of 35.7 that surprises me you guys know I think mcduffy's a good ball player he wasn't on on a Friday night that's for sure so when you're in your nickel 425 you got to get edrian Cooper and Quay Walker out there that needs to be your line lbers remember what I said it kind of feels like based off what I've seen with edrian Cooper and they play they they both do two different things right but although edrian Cooper had a higher coverage grade too it's just 11 snaps edrian Cooper might be your mck of the future you know that that true linebacker that when you go to a dime or or a a dime or a quarter set hey that's the linebacker that goes on the field you know uh he could be that dude but Quay had 76 snaps too you I've been real vocal about Quay I want it to work out but it's just not working out his run fits is is the big thing for me like when you look at his run defense gr and they see it the same way overall he's a 59 but his run run defense grades a 59.9 tackle grades 62.9 not horrible but run fits his weakness coverage was a 60.4 but look at look at our boy edrian Cooper when he was he only had two coverage snaps but a 60.9 we just we need a larger sample size of Edan Cooper if he graded out in the 40s 50s or 60s I'd say let's just keep rolling with Eric Wilson and and Isaiah McDuffy but I'll tell you Eric Wilson to me a couple run stops there he only played 15 snaps so we're we're grading you know we're really being harsh judging Isaiah McDuffy on 74 snaps and Eric Wilson only on 15 edrian Cooper only on 11 but I just want to see what you got there I don't want to get halfway through the season and not know can edraan Cooper H you may you may March him out there the next three weeks and he turned out to be the best linebacker on the team if you don't try it you don't know right one thing we do know is he's completely healthy now let's get his butt on the field that's what need to focus on Xavier mcken the big free agent signing in the offseason 76.2 76.2 solid his run fit obviously 54.3 not ideal but tackle grade 81.2 one of the best tackles I think he had had the best tackle grade on the entire team I don't I don't want to keep going back to this but man I'm telling you that these guys that goody drafted the defensive back room they could Savage could not tackle to save his life you know like it Anthony Johnson Jr didn't make the roster you you got to start doing something different in drafting defensive players you got to because it's just you're focusing too much on these Elite athletes rather than football IQ and tackling ability you know I don't know maybe I'm maybe I'm on an island there I it just you go at you shop all right let's go get this safety and free agency he comes in and bang tackle grades up same thing happened with Amos remember when they went and got Adrian Amos same thing one of the best tacklers on the team and hark it was someone they didn't draft HaHa Clinton Dicks different story right we drafted him you're just I think you're leaning a little too much into those athletic schools not obviously not specifically Ras but their own athletic you know what I'm saying it's just I don't know anyway third this I thought this was a positive Eric Stoke 66 point seven coverage grade 65.9 not horrible that's way better than Jer Alexander fellas way better um kesan Nixon had a good ball game we've been hard on kesan on this podcast 65.4 run defense fit 64.9 tackle gravers 47.5 again that was one of the guys that kind of popped up on ah the missed tackles pass rush gra was a 92.3 that definitely helped his overall his coverage grade was a 53.5 but the big thing for me was the that play he made on Jaylen go back and watch the Dallas game go find kesan Nixon sack and Dak Prescott it was the same exact type of play he was on that side of the Field playing spot drop little Zone coverage eyes on the quarterback shoot your shot be aggressive big play but uh Kean still though had had had kind of a kind of a bad game from the coverage standpoint he's not a great slot Corner although overall I think he had a decent game definitely other people to pick on Lucas vaness only 19 snaps but a 65.3 um I think you probably got to get him out there a little bit more tackle great a 71.2 pass rush is only a 58.2 run fit though 65.9 all signs are pointing toward don't be afraid to put him in an interior defensive tackle position as 4-3 defense he can hold up at the point of attack and he's got the athleticism to shoot that one Gap um I don't know man maybe maybe get him a try him on the interior a little bit I wouldn't mind to see that Carrington Valentine only nine snaps but a 63.5 you know Eric Wilson 15 snaps 62.4 Preston Smith 54 snaps 61.1 as pass rush grade was a 50 ran Gary 59.5 on 49 snaps tackle grade was good 73.9 56.6 pass rush grade now when we were pointing at his pass rush grade being good last year and his pressures being good people roasted us because he didn't get sacks now you see the grades down and he got a sack so you guys got what you wanted but now I'm going ah man come on we got to get more pressure on the quarterback it's funny how that works man um 56.6 for Gary again Quay Walker 76 snaps listen he's available right 76 snaps I think he played every in every single defensive snap that's that's noteworthy no doubt about it 59 defense grade his run run defense grade was a 59.9 with the Run fit tackle grade 62.9 pass rush grade 51.2 he only had five snaps where he pass rushed and then uh 60.4 for the coverage grade so you see once again this year his uh pass coverage grade seems to be one of his strengths Devonte white a 55 defensive grade uh not that good run defense 50.9 tackle grade 67.3 that's a little bit encouraging pass rush 61.1 obviously had the fumble recovery on the bad snap hey that's a huge play in the game kept us in it for sure um uh what's he doing with the coverage snap guys you mean Devonte White felt dropped into coverage I thought we were mad at people doing that what are we doing here Eric Wilson dropped into coverage three times he's a defensive or no he's a weak side linebacker but they like to play on the line there from time to time interesting interesting so your edges didn't drop it all so I'm sure people were very happy about that but again we uh when we highlighted the tape on Jeff Halley at Boston College when they played Florida State and Jordan Travis he liked to play those those defensive tackle spies Kenny Clark's got one there too one coverage snap so uh J Alexander the highest paid corner in the league 52.1 his coverage grade 48.9 it's time to have that conversation fellas I hate to be that dude and I know he got the interception he freelance on the interception but um I hate to be that guy but my goodness man he got cooked if uh and listen Corners get cooked this isn't a is is G alander a good corner or not this is a is J Alexander worthy of being the highest paid corner in the league talk it sucks I like that dude but how many years are we gonna do this and we blam the scheme did we not last year it's just the Joe Barry scheme that's the problem gotta button it up quick here with J man because he did he that that little out and go out and up whatever you want to call it from AJ Brown I mean he used who no football like you whatsoever he being J and he just got cooked it's like he he looks like he's playing lazy and I'm not talking like loen I'm talking like mindwise he's not it's it's like he it's like he thinks he's still 23 years old and his athleticism can make up for him making a bad mental decision and it just just doesn't happen man don't get me wrong I was screaming as loud as anyone when he picked that ball off in the end zone but I was also screaming as l as anyone when he decided to run around for 15 yards and he cost us seven invisible yards by not Downing it in the endone like that's the top of mistakes it just it takes you into the mindset of okay what's he thinking that's what he's thinking is to hell with what I'm being coach I'm gonna do what I want to do is what it feels like maybe I'm being too hard on them but man it does it it's just you know maybe I am maybe I'm just being being too hard on I want to see what the chat's saying see if I'm getting roasted in here maybe it's rightfully so heck it looks like everybody agrees with me um Jay Cole member of the PTA posy appreciate you buddy said uh J got barbecued that's just horrible and again PFF isn't everything right right Jay but when you watch the tape tape lines up with the gray there's no doubt about it um Ben Holden Alexander tried to bump Brown and Brown made him look silly and you guys remember like and there's three different sides to a story right there's there's your side there's my side there's the truth you know the old saying and it's so true like everybody last year many people last year why why don't they let J play bump and run why don't they let J play bump and run J came out in his own words to said he don't like to play bump and run he likes to play off so Joe Barry was the scapegoat for that and then when you put him in bump and run you could tell he's uncomfortable right he did he looked silly he did um you know AFM makes a good point he's never been the same since the shoulder injury it's very true man very true maybe that's it and look I'm sitting behind a mock and I got it about 67 degrees in here slot Breeze blowing in off the deck and I'm over here talking about somebody uh playing soft with a shoulder injur talk about hypocrisy at at at most but yeah man it does feel like that a fam it really does BU Nathan says no Clayton agree with you it's time to have that conversation with j and here's how I think the conversation should go if the season plays out the way it is is right now um we got a few minutes I almost want to pull up his contract I think I'm going to do it I don't want to get too crazy here flying solo because I can really slow down the show if I do this um let's see if we can pull this contract up bear with me just a second guys because we want to look at the guarantee stuff and uh and see exactly what the penalty is if you were to move on next year there's somebody right now I can't believe y'all are cutting we're not cutting him we're just having to conversation because the performance is setting up an opportunity to maybe him maybe take a pay cut that's the reality right let's uh let's pop this over here real quick we can always come back to the PFF here in a second I just want to look at some of the guarantees and everything on his contract all right let's see let's drop this down bang this is a good podcast some people on the podcast right now are like I'm unsub into this garbage I apologize y'all I'm trying all right so let's look at the contract as a whole I'm going to zoom it out I'm a little more comfortable when it's when it's zoomed out a little bit um I want to see it's going to make the numbers a little harder for y'all to read but I really need to be able to see the dead cap and all that stuff attached um so his contract details as it sits right now we're in 2024 right here you guys can see my cursor right okay so the way the contract is structured right now his cap hit this year is 23.9 million okay his dead cap attach is 35.4 million so next year as we go into next year he's set to have a cap hit of 25.8 million and the dead cap attached is 19 million he's got one voidable year that's worth of uh what $2.3 million in cap and that would accelerate to the cap for 2025 if you moved on from him after this year so the essentially the best way to read this guys if you cut him out right you're only saving roughly $6 million you're saving $6.7 million is it worth it now now the question becomes and this the same conversation we have with Aaron Jones and I think a large majority of our listeners including people on Twitter too would agree that the question now becomes is Aaron Jones worth that extra one to three I heard reports that the Vikings gave him one million more than the Packers I heard reports that they gave him three million we're talking real money we're not talking about this phoning money real money um if that was the case the question now becomes is Aaron Jones worth $3 million because no matter what he's on the cap hit for right now you're now trying to determine you know in cost analysis is he worth the extra three million or the extra one million or not that's what the question becomes I personally think Aaron Jones was goody disagreed and he moved on right the thought of having Aaron Jones and Josh Jacobs on the field at the same time in a split back set and being able to do some really unique things with them both being receiving backs now Aaron Jones may hit the wall this year and Goody's proven to be you know a genius that could be the case but for me I think it would have been worth an extra three million to have him on the on the roster now back to J Alexander is it worth six million to keep him on the roster that's the question as it sits right now me personally I think it is okay but if you went to him and asked him to take a quote unquote pay cut let me show you what that would look like you go to 2025 and you notice his base salary right here right you can see my cursor his base salary is 16.1 million okay and uh he's got a signing bonus of six million a restructure bonus of 2.3 and uh workout and roster is less than a million so let's let's key in on the base salary here I see your Super Chat there Ron I'm G to hit it buddy I really really appreciate it but give me just a second let me finish up this thought here and then we'll uh we'll hit that Super Chat that 16.1 you can convert that to signing bonus what that does is that guarantees money to Jer and it allows you to spread that money out over the rest of his contract okay now why would Jer do that because that's guaranteed money in his pocket period That's why players love doing that now what teams will do was they'll go to and they did this with Preston Smith several times right you go to that player and go hey look here's here's what we'd like to do of that 16.1 million we want to we want to convert that money to a $5 million signing bonus write you a $5 million check right now okay if we do that the cap hit with that base salary is still 16.1 but if you're willing if you're willing to take a pay cut we'll give you that five million so we we want to give you a $3 million quote unquote pay cut right and drop your number down to 13.1 but we want to take 5 million of that 13.1 and give you a five milon doll check right now you don't have to wait to get paid and now in Jer you go to jer's camp and their thing is do we want to pack up and leave Wisconsin do we want to potentially go to another state that's got higher taxes do I W to do I want to completely move across the country right am I rooted here and if if the answer is yes is it worth doing all that to take a $3 million pay cut overall but get a $5 million check right now to stay you see what I'm saying so that's how you can free up some cap money he technically takes a pay cut but he also gets more money in his pocket right that comes into play and you got to ask yourself is it worth losing JY Alexander over $6 million I personally think you keep him the numbers at six 2026 different story because in 2026 the cap hit jumps to 27.8 and the dead Cap's only 10.7 right there you're freeing up what would that be $10 million in cap space that's a whole different different ball game right there see what I'm saying so something to monitor again it's more about getting the best 11 out there if G isn't one of the best 11 you know what I'm saying like and I mean I don't I'm trying to find a way to defend him here he got cooked on Friday night the tape shows him getting cooked the PFF grade shows him getting cooked it's not so much about the capit anymore as it is is he one of the best 11 to put on the field with Carrington Valentine had gotten cook listen AJ Brown's damn good receiver maybe he would have right with Cory Balentine now with Cory Ballentine this is going to sound really really strange but who's a better receiver AJ brown or Justin Jefferson I think it's Justin Jefferson maybe you guys disagree that's okay Cory Ballentine shut Justin Jefferson down last year on New Year's Eve I'm just saying now if you if you wanted to potentially trade J that makes that a little bit better right if you trade Jer and free up you you free up to six million and and some of that it may even be a bigger free up because I know there's there's some things you could do you could restructure it before you trade him um but and he's got to work out maybe he wants to work out a new deal with a new team if you get a third round pick and you free up 6 million next year that feels that feels a lot better you know what I'm saying so yeah man I did not expect to talk about that but here we are Ron sell with the Super Chat appreciate you buddy he said um halfly may be judged as a coach by how willing he is to replace underperforming players during the year no matter their status on the team it's a great Point Ron and again the goal should be get the best player on the field right again I'm not saying we need to cut JY Alexander but I think we're all agreeing that it's time to that conversation like hey look this uh BB you're you're tying up a good chunk of the salary cap and um we're not getting a result from it you know what I'm saying I mean that's uh it's tough I mean what what percentage of the cap is that actually let me look here real quick percentage of the cap we had it up this year alone he's eating up 99.3% of the cap next year it's 9.4 then the year after that 9.5 now keep in mind every year that goes a long spot track has tried to tally in a guesstimate of what the salary cap will be it may be a little higher may be a little lower but they try to put in a certain average percentage so um yeah just something to kind of keep our eye on there for sure but Ron thank you thank you for the Super Chat Man to answer your question um or to respond to your comment here I mean uh he may be judged as a coach by how willing he is to replace underperforming players so true you gotta put the best 11 out there man I think we're thinking in the same the same vein there R appreciate the support buddy thank you so much for the Super Chat CH you are awesome um let's hit a couple of these other comments and I know we still got actually let's finish up what we were doing we got sidetracked but man those are the conversation conversations that need to happen no doubt about it as we uh as we go through and and hit stuff like this with the PFF grades and everything let me uh see if I can get this a little zoomed in here for y'all all right let's go full screen again okay just to finish it up uh we kind of got down to what Devonte white JY Alexander 52.2 48.9 gosh it's horrible Javon buler guys bad game according to PFF but 76 snaps hey go dive into the tape and get better bull right 46.1 look at his run defense though 77.4 let's go let's freaking go tackle grade 69.6 let's go that's way better than Savage right the coverage grade was the big hit 39.8 the thing I noticed was him playing deep safety and Xavier mcken playing in the Box a little more than I expected I think we might have the snaps out here here let me see real quick we do sometimes they put the snap alignment whether yeah here we go God it's way over no we can yeah we can line it up all right cool so Xavier McKenna played 25 snaps in the box and 44 at free safety played Seven snaps in the slot interesting right now some of those it's not that there's not a slot corner on the field it's just the the the specific defensive call they had put him in the slot that makes sense so with Bullard Bullard played only 14 snaps in the Box 45 at free safety 10 in the slot right and three actually at corner so um seems like they're playing bull a little more at the Deep spot when his grades would suggest he'd be better in the Box more you know now you don't want to we've talked about this last year even when talking about the fangio scheme and Joe Barry running a variation of the F scheme gone are the days of this is your safety this is your box safety both safety positions have to be able to play both aspects of the game in today's NFL because there's so much pre-nap movement there's so many trips Trey and bunch sets that are deployed now from offenses that you gotta kind of look at it that way now you got both guys gota be able to play down but I would try to scheme it up to play the bull strength because you know our boy McKenna can do both right and do do both well let's try to get bull into the slot little or into the box a little bit more and and let McKenna make the play on the B like on Chalk talk if I can get it ready tonight if not we'll do it tomorrow if I can get chalk talk ready you guys are going to see Xavier McKenna and his ability to track the ball is phenomenal that interception was in Tampa two that was a tat two defense he was supposed to cover deep half and there was a guy going down the sideline in that deep half he covered that guy took that look away and still had the wherewithal the awareness the play recognition to read the quarterback's eyes and the athletic is him to get back to the seam and pick the ball off and Quay Walker covering the seam covering the receiver down the seam in the Tampa two look his strength it was just man two guys making a play was absolutely huge so we'll get into that a little later tonight I'm gonna hit special teams we're way over here um special teams grades real quick look who's at the top of the list only seven snaps but Edan Cooper phenomenal Eric Wilson 69.7 with 24 snaps led the team look at Javon Bullard there you're seeing some wor from a rookie 15 snaps 64.8 zaye Anderson 64.5 Cory Balentine contributing 18 snaps 63.9 Evan Williams 15 snaps 61.8 they're toward the top who struggled in special teams Xavier McKenna 13 snaps 30.4 if he gets hurt on a special Team snap I'm gonna lose my mind Rasheed Walker Isaiah McDuffy took a big hit and maybe it's because he's starting now right he's starting backer you know only nine snaps but a 41.4 um yeah Tyron Hopper 48.1 Bo Melton 50.2 just some of the guys toward the bottom there okay just wanted to hit on that real quick but all right with that being said guys um we're way over on time thank y'all this was a fun episode I hate going solo like this but at the same time it is cool to uh to get in here and be able to chat with y'all a little bit and uh and key in on the chat a little bit more like I said the super chats are a lot easier to see but uh yeah thank y'all everybody in the chat I want to see if there's anything else to hit on as we leave here real quick um yeah jco why is he on special teams I don't know J I don't like it either but we'll let's write a letter to 1265 see if we can get Xavier McKenna off special teams so um but seriously thanks everybody this was a lot of fun if we could hit that like button on your way out also if you're interested in this kind of conversation offline um we got a patreon group that's awesome you can scan that QR code in the upper right or just go to patreon.com Packer Fant Total Access and uh we got some multiple chats in there we just talk ball all that stuff you got a question for the show uh once we get a couple of those questions tallied up in there we like to pull it up on the screen and ask them just like it would be a super chat here again people ask me how can I support the show should I be a YouTube member should I be a patreon member um if you ask me I would rather you be a patreon member because we could stay connected better and you can get a little more bang for your buck in that regard but if you feel comfortable being a YouTube member that's awesome too it's so supportting show the problem with YouTube membership is we don't know at any point they could demonetize the channel and that money you spent all of a sudden you know what I'm saying as being a YouTube member I don't like that person that that bothers me because we want to make sure for those who were supporting us here on the show uh we're doing everything to get them maximum value back so but thanks to everybody in the patreon group thanks to everybody here today and again we got a new YouTube member Nick mcain thank you so much for jumping back on buddy also Nick main with the Super Chat thank you and Ron sville with the Super Chat you guys are awesome so we will see you T not we may go live a little early I'll get the link up as soon as I can just keep your ear to the YouTube uh Channel and uh and also on Twitter and we will let you know when we're GNA go live chalk Talk's gonna be great okay um Nick Main's asking I the goal is tonight Nick um if I can get everything ready here's what we got to do for chalk talk so be prepared for this I we're allowed to use NFL film footage but we got completely screwed over earlier in the year you you guys have heard us talk about it they won't tell us specifically what got our channel demonetized the way it's supposed to work using NFL footage you can use it the stream goes down it comes back up and you can't monetize it right that's perfectly fine the problem is they won't tell us if that's why the channel got demonetized no clue so what we're going to do for chalk talk we'll do the first half of the show hit a few topics and then steer everybody all right we're going to St stay live on X stay live on Rumble okay so if you hop over to rumble type in Packers Total Access you can find us over there that's where the chalk talk will be happening I apologize but that's the only way I know to do it if I could get an answer from them that hey no that's not going to demonetize your channel you can do that I would love to keep it up on YouTube but they just won't won't let us know so um there you go om says uh thanks Clayton another great show hit that like button on the way out yes sir thank you mare appreciate you bu we will see you guys tonight for those of you listening on the Pod thank you for Mak making us part of your day as always let's go out and be the change we want to see in the world and go Paco
