the Harford County Sheriff's Office identified the student accused of shooting and killing his classmate at japat toown high school yesterday the 16-year-old boy who is also a student at japat toown high school is being charged as an adult Caroline forbach is joins us live from japat toown with the latest on this tragic story Caroline Kelsey according to the Harford County Sheriff's Office the suspect fled the school building and then was found in this neighborhood only about 20 minutes after the shooting the teen is charged as an adult with murder first and second degree assault and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony or violent crime Harford County Sheriff Jeffrey gayer said in a press conference Friday that the 16-year-old student allegedly shot a 15-year-old during a fight inside a men's bathroom just after 12:30 p.m. the 15-year-old victim Warren Grant was found suffering from a gunshot wound and was tended to by School nurses staff and students he was then pronounced dead at the hospital the suspect fled the school but deputies quickly located him in a nearby neighborhood after residents called 911 to report a suspicious subject trying to break into a house WJZ spoke with a neighbor who saw the suspect being taken into custody I graduated from that high school I never thought in a million years something like that would happen that's just disgusting like that that type of stuff don't happen here in Java Town never ever ever why you got to bring a gun in the situations why why even bringing to school school's supposed to be safety learning discipline like it breaks my heart now the sheriff said the suspect has had 10 prior contacts with police over the past two years he's currently being held at the Harford County Detention Center reporting live here in japat town Caroline forbach for WJZ
