Yesterday, we simply didn't do a lot
of things the way we wanted to. We were too deep, too passive,
we were more likely to provide cover than to disrupt the opposition in such a way
that three goals weren't scored so early on and we then had to chase after them. It's never nice and never fun. It's also rarely successful. I think we put too much
pressure on ourselves. We were just too tense. So when you consider that you don't play
a single foul in the first half and this is a game where we can fight
for a championship, then something wasn't quite right. A stark contrast today. So today, of course,
it was the derby against Schalke. That's always something that makes
every Dortmund fan's heart beat faster. It gets every Dortmund
player's heart pumping. And when we put in a performance like
that, a response like that compared to yesterday, it's of course outstanding. So 8:0 - the highest derby win. It's not always about shooting
someone into the ground. That's not the point. But we still have something to do this
year and maybe the goals we scored were also valuable for a better
position at the end of the league. My second most successful
season so far in terms of goals. And then also my first season at BVB. Since I've been wearing the jersey here,
I've somehow started scoring goals again. Of course it's fun,
especially in front of such a home crowd, with the derby atmosphere. There's a completely
different tension in the air. I know that too, even though I
haven't been at BVB that long. We were well prepared by the coach
and pulled ourselves together and finally put the things we had
rehearsed on the pitch.
