Yesterday was a drier day, but there were some light showers moving through the Baton Rouge area early yesterday morning and also last night. These were a few showers trailing behind Francine. Thankfully we're closing out this week and heading into the weekend with decent weather. Today will be a drier day. Skies are partly cloudy this morning, but cloud cover will decrease throughout today. Highs will be in the mid and upper 80s. Winds will be much lighter since the storm is away from our area. Winds will be out of the west around 5-10 mph. Skies will be mostly clear tonight and during the overnight hours. Overnight lows will be near 70 degrees. There's a slight chance of showers each day this weekend. Saturday morning will begin with mostly clear skies, but more clouds will move back into the area throughout the day. Skies will be partly cloudy so at least we'll still have sunshine tomorrow. Skies will be partly to mostly cloudy on Sunday. Isolated showers are possible for the afternoon and evening. Rain chances will still be low at the beginning of the new work week. The remnants of Francine combined with an upper level disturbance could bring a few showers back into the area this weekend. This looks like this will just be isolated activity though. Rain chances are slim for Saturday and a little higher for Monday. Isolated to scattered showers are possible for Monday. We're keeping rain chances around 30%. Tuesday through the end of next week should be drier days. Highs will still be in the upper 80s to low 90s. Overnight lows will be in the low 70s. Overall, we'll have decent weather over the next seven days. Tracking the tropics: Tropical Depression Seven is still out in the Atlantic, but it looks like it remain in the Atlantic. There are two other disturbances. One is near the US southeast coast and the next is east of the Leeward Islands. Both disturbances have a low chance of developing into a tropical system over the next two and seven days. There are no immediate concerns for Louisiana or the Gulf Coast. Thanks for watching. Have a fantastic Friday and a wonderful weekend! Ashley Renee Traffic update
