away with a bag the grandson sees him and Mcall tells him to stay in the car the boy shoots Mcall in the leg and runs away Mcall drives far enough until he loses Consciousness he is found by an officer Gio bonucci eugin Andrea who takes him to the local doctor in his town Enzo arisio imoon Enzo tells Gio to say that mall fell in case anybody asks and mcau wakes up after a few days and learns he is in the town while tonte he befriends Enzo who finds a place for him to stay and he also becomes friendly with Gio and his daughter Gabby Delan lanzaro Mcall starts going by the local cafe and also befriends one of the employees Amina G goeller after Enzo asks him if he is a good or bad man Mall says he is not sure he is haunted by um images of his late friend Susan plumber Melissa Leo and he remembers how he killed the man at the vineyard one by one um mall later contacts the diet and speaks to Emma Collins of dakata he tips her off about what he found at the vineyard in Sicily and suggests she investigate Collins goes with her partner Frank Conroy David demon and a team where they find 11 million in Euros along with a huge stash of Narcotics she later locates mcll and alamani and starts communicating with him over what they found at the vineyard and the market alaman um Thug named Marco kuanta Andrea Doo is antagonizing a fish vendor named Angelo danello Peron over not giving him what he wants then demands that he have it the next time he shows up Marco and his brother Vincent and rash scardio run the kamora uh Mafia group that terrorizes Altamont Marco visits Vincent as he is meeting with a couple that refuses to sign over their building so that Vincent may run a Hotel he responds by having the wife's wheelchair bound father thrown and hung from a window then has his corpse left for the other residence to see as a warning I just a phone call saying that Gabby left school early and when he ask her teacher she says one of his officers took her I runs home and finds Gabby and his wife Chiara Sony ammer being held captive by Marco and his goons before they proceed to threaten Gio so he can stay out of their business at night Mcall sees people running when they hear a bell ringing Angelo's shop has been set on fire and he and his wife can only be held back as they watch the shop go up in Flames Mcall notices Marco and his goons sitting back watching things and he knows who to go after all sees a news report of a terrorist attack in Rome believed to be done by Syrian terrorists based on what she is learned from aall she doesn't believe this was the work of syrians even though it was their drugs found at the vineyard she confides to Conroy that she believes this is part of a bigger plan sure enough Vincent discusses with Marco his plans to take over the entire Coast with their own businesses and the terrorist attack was part of the plan Collins also ends up caught near an explosion in the city as she attempts to go near her car but she is alive and hospitalized am nam Marco goes to a restaurant where Gio is having dinner with his family in an attempt to get him to get boats from somalis Marco then notices mcau staring at him and he goes to confront him mcau lets him know clearly what will happen if he does not stop his threats against the family so he grabs Marco's wrist and compresses a nerve in his hand that causes him pain until he gets his goons out of the restaurant outside Marco plans to retaliate but one of his goons gets run over by a van as the driver another going has already been killed by Mcall he kills the last goon before fighting Marco breaking his arm and getting him to stab himself to death after Vincent learns of his brother's death he is visited by Chief Bell TFO margato who appears to be in League with the kamur Bella makes threats which results in Vincent stabbing his hand and then having his goon cut Bella's hand off before sending him to the hospital to get it reattached um Vincent then plans to get revenge Vincent and his goons go to Alon and attack Gio firing a gun near his ear and threatening to kill him and his family until his brother's murderer shows up McCall comes out and tells Vincent to take him and to leave everyone else alone before Vincent can kill mcll Enzo fires a rifle of his own the residents then get their phones out and record the villains forcing them to flee before police arrive Vincent returns to his compound and begins to make plans to attack Almont the next day unfortunately for them McCall has found them first and begins to pick them off Vincent wakes up when one of his goons blood drips on him from the ceiling before the body crashes through the glass Vincent tries to run away but ends up knocked out by Mcall when he wakes up he finds that McCall has given him um lethal dose of the drugs found at the vineyard giving him a few minutes before his heart gives out Vincent attempts to run in the street with Mall slowly walking behind him and he ends up hit by a car the Crim Lord stumbles a little further before he finally expires he Mcall later visits the hospital where Collins is staying um he admits to her that the real reason he came to Sicily was to retrieve pension money from someone he knew that had it stolen by the criminals um he leaves her with the bag full of money goes to Boston where the man McCall was talking about lives he and his wife are emotional and grateful to find that their money has been recovered when she goes back to work Collins receives uh a little black book from mall on all his personal Gatherings with a note saying your mother would be so proud of you Collins then looks at a photograph on her desk revealing she is Susan's daughter Mcall stays in altim man and joins them in celebrating the victory of their football team and Sicily an Italian drug lord and his child pull up in a jeep to a secluded Villa strewn across the rused courtyard which on better days would be an ideal vacation spot are the bloodied dismembered bodies of a goon Army e-man exits the jeep with a pistol leaving the kid in the vehicle he and one of his henchmen enter the home where they discover more carcasses whose causes of death death riddled with bullets their faces cleav by a butcher's knife grow increasingly gruesome noted Hitman turned ghost Robert McCall Denzel Washington sits beneath two gunmen um is McCall The Prisoner or are they he of course dispatches them with ease grabbing a set of keys from the dead drug Lord's body that hold what McCall came to retrieve you won't guess what mundane package McCall has just murdered an army of killers to get but it doesn't really matter now the hamfisted McGuffin doesn't serve the rest of the film this opening scene from its stomach churning violence to the Reliance on impractical effects indicates where this once enjoyable nuts and bolts action franchise has gone wrong Antoine fuk The Equalizer 3 is not just what many assume will be the last film in the franchise it's the fifth overall collaboration between the director and Washington their partnership on its face is puzzling sure their first teaming Training Day Nea Washington is Lone best actor win but their successive films have only got gotten harsher and Dumber since that Triumph what exactly does Washington get out of these films um it's a relationship that often recalls the Run Anthony man and Jimmy Stewart experienced in their eight pictures together to to be sure fuku Washington has mined far poor the mic Treasures when Stuart left his Prestige perge his good guy image and asu's mannerisms to explore darker stories in man's freeing Western you can tell Washington gets the same pleasure here not caring if the audience experienc es the same Adventure Sensations he does because like make no mistake The Equalizer 3 is hot garbage it's also a fascinating but failed attempt by fuka and Washington to make their own man Stewart film consider how the Western genre stains this picture during McCall's raid on the Villa he is critically wounded and eventually discovered by a local cop geoc kyogo Master Andrea who takes him to a quaint Seaside Italian Village where a local doctor named Enzo yal gon treats the hitman's wounds while recuperating in the restful Town McCall learns to love the people and the peace they provide him though a local young gang leader Marco Andrea Doo looms over them Mcall who says he's merely passing through would rather avoid intervening like any Western when push comes to shove McCall will defend them while teaching these acquiescing people how to stand up to their oppressors ecoo and cinematographer Robert Richardson platoon and a few good man provide further Western details through Char jerro lighting Washington silhouette spells danger while his weary frame expresses a close relationship to death um Richardson also captures the actor from extreme low angles uh La John Ford painting heroic compositions the problem however is they've made Mcall so vicious we're not quite sure if we should be rooting for him to kill it makes sense for the character to show greater brutality after all in the first equalizer he was once C man idling in retirement now he's a man fully bathed in Blood and Guts again even Washington can't fully pull across that through line especially when the script is so weak take the primary subplot which sees Dakota Fanning raming with Washington the two previously starred in Man on Fire this time uh as CI agent and mccollins McCall phones a tip to Collins's desk that'll change her career the information nonsensically takes her from working at call center to field work he nevertheless is flat out bed she never proves herself to be a capable agent and her case involving Italian drug ring barely connects to McCall's stay in the village and appears overmatched in the few scenes the pair occupy together as she unsuccessfully attempts to channel Jessica Chastain's turn in Zero Dark 30 I wish I could say the Action Fair is better but the staging lacks imagination the editing doesn't snap the score sounds wrote the film would rather go gory and gruesome to paper over its LMP choreography than craft anything bordering on memorable the films only saying grace is how much fun Washington appears to be having um he makes some surprising decisions that initially feel like outtakes because of how random they are is he still playing the cause The Grieving widower or does he want to push this character further toward uh Psychopathic territory it's become old hat and kind of lazy uh to compare every contemporary action film to John Wick uh but this franchise which launched the same year as the first John Wick struggles to evolve like Keana Reeves films did oh this Trilogy has no emotional core no narrative Continuum no pleasure with the genre it calls Home Instead in its successive offerings The Equalizer franchise Is tragically uneven equalizer has become one of the most underrated action film franchises in recent years not only did it sement Denzel Washington as a Bonafide action star as well as one who prioritizes quality over quantity but it also has showcased director Antoine Fu's skills as an action Maestro Washington and [ __ ] would crafted an intriguing protagonist with Robert McCall a former Marine turn vigilante who utilizes his Keen observational skills as well as a fair amount of violence to deled Justice on The Equalizer 3 which reunites Washington and fuka with screenwriter Richard Wing takes a different approach and results in a character-driven piece the film opens with McCall delivering his standard brand of Justice to Lorenzo vital berau bada um seemingly innocent businessman whose Vineyard Harbors a dark secret after he kills vital and his men McCall is shot in the back by vitol's son he is eventually taken in by local Dr Enzo muron who lives in the small town of alamon while recuperating Mcall starts to connect with Altamont citizens but he eventually learns that the town is under the thumb of Vincent Quant Andreas scardio a member of the Kamar the Italian mafia Kim call doing what he does best delivering increasingly creative bouts of violence unto Vincent and his men Denzel Washington is Robert McCall an ex assassin with a mysterious past who returns to action to serve Vengeance for the exploited and oppressed finding himself surprisingly at home in southern ital he discovers his new friends are under the control of local crime bosses as of inster and deadly McCall knows what he has to do become his friend's protector by taking on Mafia Enzo Washington WS uh David demon NS Sonia Amar I Dakota Fanning how does the IDE The Equalizer 3es in Vincent is revealed to have been selling a highly potent form of fenan to terrorist cells using vitals Vineyard as cover he also sends his younger brother Marco Tia dero to extort money out of alamani citizens or outright run them out of their home so that he can turn the little village into a series of casinos and hotels Mall soon puts a stop to this slaughtering Marco and his men after they threatened alonti's chief of police Gio bonucci eugeno Master Andrea for investigating their business incensed Vincent attempts to terrorize the citizens of alamon into giving up McCall but is deterred by the citizens filming him as well as Enzo shooting one of his thugs that night McCall breaks into Vincent's Mansion disposing of his guards and increasingly brutal ways he finally Corners Vincent and force feeds him a lethal dose of fenine pills in what may be one of the most chilling sequences of the movie Mcall calmly informs Vincent that he has less than 20 minutes to live setting his trademark stopwatch to start the countdown then he cuts Vincent Free and commi trails him to the middle of alamon streets where the Crim Lord's heart finally gives out but not before a car Rams into him sending him flying it's given Folk's love of Akira Kurosawa films particularly Seven Samurai the idea of a criminal dying as a byproduct of his own Wares is the type of poetic justice the legendary filmmaker would approve of how does Dakota Fanning's character fit into equalizer 3 um Dakota Fanning as Emma Collins talking on the phone in The Equalizer three image via Sony Pictures me throughout the equalizer 3 Mcall comes into contact with Ricky CIA agent Emma Collins the Cod of Fanning Mcall contacts Collins and leaves an anonymous tip about vital Vineyard where she discovers the stockpile of phenylene pill and the bodies Mcall left in his wake evle Colin's investigation leads to her being grievously wounded when Vincent's men plant a bomb in her car McCall visits her in the hospital and leaves a bag full of money which contains the pension fund for a retired man he gave a lift ride to assumably sometime during the events of the equalizer 2 ollins Returns the money to the retiree and a scene toward the end reveals her staring at a picture of her parents Eno Washington as Robert McCall sitting on a chair while being confronted by Mobsters in the equal three um as a us though Washington and Antoine F fuk deliver a gleefully violent final installment as we say farewell to this action Series this film ensures it goes out with a bang deagle viewers will remember who Colin's parents are Susan and Brian plumber Lis Melisa Leo and Bill Pullman they both appeared in The Equalizer as mallat Susan's helping Gathering Intel on nicolay Teddy um itching Co Martin sookis um who was involved in a criminal organization that happened to involve McCall's friend Alina clo Grace morch Susan was murdered by McCall's former partner Dave York Pedro Pascal in The Equalizer 2 leading Mcall to track down York and dispatch of him alongside the other members of his former special ops team Collins being the daughter of the plumbers only heightens their impact on McCall and sheds light on his decision to call her early in the film The Equalizer Trilogy ends with McCall finding peace Denzel Washington has Robert McCall looking at a person off screen in The Equalizer three image Sony Pictures surprisingly The Equalizer 3 doesn't end with the the click of a stopwatch or the sight of Bloodshed no it closes off in a surprisingly peaceful why McCall visits a local cafe that he'd been frequenting throughout the film as the residents of alamon celebrate the end of a local soccer game he gets up and starts mangling with the others and a genuine smile cracks his face he even joins in a round of Cheers as confetti fills the air for the first time he seems to finally be at peace so but originally the film could have ended on a note Pua revealed during a Ka honesty session following an iMac screen that the celebration took place earlier in the film but that he decided to shuffle it around and I thought this is about a celebration of the people of the place that soccer game was earlier and I called my editor Connor abuff and I said what if we put that at the end so he's there with the people he said the change works it shows that Robert has found a place to call home in Altamonte and you can finally put his violent past behind him CK in Wasington have both signaled that The Equalizer 3 is the end of McCall's story with fuk highlighting how the trilogy served as an exploration of McCall's character if this is the end it's a rather fitting one for Mcall and it brings him full circle to where he was at the start of the trilogy equalizer 3 is ending closed on an interesting note for Denzel Washington's McCall which appears to be the Final Chapter for his take on the character the third equalizer opens with former da officer Robert McCall being wounded after wiping out a sicilian mob base he soon taken in by the locals at a seaside village called alamon who come to treat him as one of their own while he recovers unfortunately the village locals are being threatened by Mafia outfit the kamur after they push the violence too far McCall is forced to push back with equal effect uh subplot also sees McCall aiding CIA agent Emma Collins to Dakota Fanning giving her information about designer drugs that were being shipped from the mob base he raid um it turns out the Kumar themselves are in League with terrorists and after maau kills the brother of Mafia Chief Vincent um Reese scario the two men are set for a final showdown iy and Mcall kills Vincent and his men in a violent home invasion and injured Collins gets a promotion and McCall appears to have finally found peace as he decides to stay in the village Enzo Washington as Mcall in The Equalizer two ending Denzel Washington's 10 best scenes in The Equalizer movies rank The Equalizer movies have given Denzel Washington some great material to work with and here are his best scenes across the three films uh does Robert McCall die in The Equalizer 3 and The Equalizer 3 teased McCall's death but went no further Denzel Washington's character is put In Harm's Way throughout the entire action movie but Robert McCall does not die in The Equalizer 3 by the time the credits roll a movie initially looks like this could be a possibility by having him be shot in the back after the opening sequence which leaves his health in a critical state it is only after being operated on by a local that McCall proves to be stable the film ultim eled to leave Washington's hero alive to give him a happy ending or leave the door open for a sequel instead of counting him among everyone who dies in The Equalizer 3 a big theme of The Equalizer 3 is the idea that people end up where they're supposed to be and by the end of the third entry McCall appears to have found where he belongs uh the sequel presence a darker take on the character who is seemingly still reeling from the death of best friend Susan Melissa Leo during the second film and his betrayal by former colleagues mall is more sadistic and brutal in the way he patches foes and seems intent on inflicting pain first however he finds his Humanity once again when the village takes him in and treats him with kindness after killing Vincent he heads back to alante and is last scene beaming as he takes part in a village celebration having just gifted his black book to Collins it appears McCall has truly given up the Vigilant life equalizer 3's and then gives no hint of a further Sequel and if it truly is the last installment it's a nice note to leave the character on why Mcall committed The Equalizer 3's opening Mass Washington as Robert McCall holding a gun and looking serious though in The Equalizer 3 the opening of the threequel feels like something of a slash or film as a m boss comes home to his Vineyard and discovers the bodies of his men littering his home his remaining henchmen confront mall on a seller but of course the ladder easily comes out on top and kills them all before this mall hints the reason he's there is because they took something that didn't belong to them and afterward he's seen with a mystery backpack it's only in the final scenes that he reveals to Collins what's inside mcco explains that this mob stronghold also took part in uh cyber crime and that they stole the pension of a retired man in Boston McCall gave the pension Guy Greg Dyer a ride and a lift one time yeah a nod to his equalizer two-side gig and he came to Italy with the sole intent of giving the man his $360,000 back Collins doesn't understand why McCall would go to such links to help a total stranger but when she laid her hands over the bag and watches the joy the recovered money brings to the man and his wife she gets it Blended image of Denzel Washington and NPR rating logo the double 3 is rated R the oing The Equalizer franchise has always been dark but the equalizer 3 looks to be the most shocking yet and there a reason why it's rated by the NP Andrea scardio firing a gun in The Equalizer 3 The Equalizer 3 doesn't give much depth to its antagonists who are depicted as almost cartoonish evil their various crimes include hanging an old man from a window and later cutting off the hand of a subordinate they collect protection money from any of the stores in alamon but Vincent has larger plans in mind for this little Paradise he wants to build Resorts and casinos for tourists and that will involve pushing the population out given the kindness with which he's been treated by the people McCall makes it clear that isn't going to happen the GI drug explain um the GI drug was the key to the equalizer threes villain plot The Equalizer third equalizer another major subplot an equalizer involves Collins looking into shipments of drugs that were being sent uh from inside wine bottles at the vineyard McCall raid this is an inomine dub the Jihad drug which is being sold by Syrian terrorists to fund their activities of course it turns out that kamur is buying the drug and thus directly funding terrorism which is why Mcall gets the CIA involved McCall gives Vincent a taste of his own medicine in the ending and forces him a fatal dose of these pills he then walks with the the fleeing Kamura Chief into the village and waits until he dies from his overdose alens is Susan plumber's daughter Asen Washington and Dakota Fanning's character share a surprising connection Emma Collins looking at Robert McCall at an outdoor Cafe in The Equalizer 3 another lingering mystery running throughout the film is why McCall is helping a random CI agent he and Collins form a nice Bond but he always avoids answering why he contacted her the final scene in Collins's office he following her recovery from a car bomb planted by the kamora that nearly killed her uh answers this question she finds that Mcall has gifted her his black book with a message stating her mother would be proud cinon looks at a graduation picture on her desk revealing she's the daughter of McCall's old friends Susan and Brian Bayan Bill Pullman in acting as something of a mentor to Collins and then imparting his little book of names and secrets he's setting her on a path toward becoming a great agent like Susan was it's another sign that McCall himself is ready to hang up his equalizing ways and retire what director Antoine fuka has said about The Equalizer 3's ending um P Rober Call's fith F UK would direct The Equalizer 4 with Washington but doesn't expect to uh Denzel Washington as Robert McCall shoots his gun in The Equalizer 3 the third film in The Equalizer series is being tipped as the final outing for both Washington and fuka um Denzel Washington said that the equalizer for could happen but it would have to be without him um but while the actor has indicated that a fourth movie with a new actors on the table K's comments indicated otherwise according to the director fuka is open to directing equalizer 4 but he too will walk away from the franchise if Washington isn't on board with Fu's return to the director's chair being dependent on Washington's return a fourth installment is looking increasingly unlikely um Mcall looks directly at the camera with a gun pointed at him in The Equalizer 3er antoan fugo previously entertained the notion of equalizer 4 could feature a digitally DH Mcall even star Denzel's son John David as the former option seems to who have been ruled out by Washington and the latter scenario while technically possible probably won't occur either unless fuka changes his mind in the event that Washington and fuk do retam for a fourth film it would be relatively easy for the story to continue now some theorize that the third outing would see McCall himself die this isn't the case instead the sequel ends with McCall finding some inner peace The Equalizer 3 very much serves as an ending but it doesn't negate a fourth entry at all the other sequel could simply pick up with call on another mission of Vengeance and simply explain that retirement didn't suit him now that Collins has been established as his new Aly she could also come to him for help on an operation that needs his unconventional methods of course heading in this direction could it's a relationship that often recalls the Run Anthony man and Jimmy Stewart experienced in their eight pictures together to to be sure Fuko Washington has mined far poor thematic Treasures when Stuart left his Prestige perge his good guy image and asu's mannerisms to explore darker stories in man's freeing westerns you can tell Washington gets the same pleasure here not caring if the audience experiences the same Adventure Sensations he does because like make no mistake The Equalizer 3 is hot garbage it's also a fascinating but failed attempt by fuka and Washington to make their own man Stewart film consider how the Western genre stains this picture during McCall's raid on the Villa he is critically wounded and eventually discovered by a local cop Geo kyogo Master Andrea who takes him to a quaint Seaside Italian Village where a local doctor named Enzo yo garun treats the Hitman wounds while recuperating in the restful Town McCall learns to love the people and the peace they provide him though a local young gang leader Marco Andrea Doo looms over them Mall who says he's merely passing through would rather avoid intervening like any Western when push comes to shove mcau will defend them while teaching these acquiescing people how to stand up to their oppressors EO and cinematographer Robert Richardson platoon and a few good man provide further Western details through Char churro lighting while Washington silhouette spells danger while his weary frame expresses a close relationship to death um Richardson also captures the actor from extreme low angles uh La John Ford painting heroic compositions the problem however is they've made Mcall so vicious we're not quite sure if we should be rooting for him to kill it makes sense for the character to show greater brutality after all in the first equalizer he was once a calm man idling in retirement now he's a man fully bathed in Blood and Guts again even Washington can't fully pull across that through line especially when the script is so weak take the primary subplot which sees Dakota Fanning raming with Washington the two previously starred and man on fire this time uh as CI agent and mccollins Mcall phones a tip to Collins's desk that'll change her career the information nonsensically takes her from working at call center to field workor he nevertheless is flat out bed she never proves herself to be a capable agent and her case involving Italian drug ring barely connects to McCall's stay in the in the village Annie appears overmatched in the few scenes the pair occupy together as she unsuccessfully attempts to channel Jessica Chastain's turnning Zero Dark 30 I wish I could say the Action Fair is better but the staging lacks imagination the editing doesn't snap the score sounds well as one who prioritizes quality over quantity but it also has showcased director Antoine Fu's skills as an action Maestro Washington and [ __ ] would crafted an intriguing protagonist with Robert McCall a former Mar turn vigilante who utilizes his Keen observational skills as well as a fair amount of violence to deliver Justice The Equalizer 3 which reunites Washington and fuka with Equalizer 3es in Vincent is revealed to have been selling a highly potent form of Fenty Lane to terrorist cells using vitals Vineyard as cover he also sends his younger brother Marco tiia dero to extort money out of Alman citizens or outright run them out of their home so that he can turn the little village into a series of casinos and hotels Mall soon puts a stop to this slaughtering Marco and his men after they threaten alonti's chief of police Gio bonucci eugin Master Andrea for investigating their business incensed Vincent attempts to terrorize the citizens of alante into giving up maau but is deterred by the citizens filming him as well as Enzo shooting one of his thugs that night McCall breaks into Vincent's Mansion disposing his guards in increasingly brutal ways he finally Corners Vincent and force feeds him a lethal dose of fenine pills in what may be one of the most chilling sequences of the movie McCall calmly informs Vincent that he has less than 20 minutes to live setting his trademark stopwatch to start the countdown and he cuts Vincent Free and commi trails him to the middle of alamon streets where the Crim Lord's heart finally gives out but not before a car Rams into him sending him flying it's given Folk's love of Akira Kurosawa films particularly 7even Samurai the idea of a criminal dying as a byproduct of his own Wares is the type of poetic justice to the retiree and a scene toward the end reveals her staring at a picture of her parents and Washington as Robert McCall sitting on a chair while being confronted by ERS in The Equalizer 3 um as us though Washington and Antoine F fuk deliver a gleefully violent final installment as we say farewell to this action Series this film shes it goes out with a bang deagle eyed viewers will remember who Colin's parents are Susan in a Brian plumber Lis Melisa Leo and Bill pman they both appeared in The Equalizer as Mall saw Susan's helping Gathering Intel on nicolay Teddy um itching Co Martin sookis um who was involved in a criminal organization that happened to involve McCall's friend alen clo Grace morch Susan was murdered by McCall's former partner Dave York Pedro Pascal in The Equalizer 2 leading McCall to track down York and dispatch of him alongside the other members of his former special ops team Hollins being the daughter of the plumbers only heightens their impact on McCall and sheds light on his decision to call her early in the film The Equalizer Trilogy ends with McCall finding peace Denzel Washington has Robert McCall looking at a person off screen in The Equalizer three of the place that soccer game was earlier and I called my editor Connor uff and I said what if we put that at the end so he's there with the people he said the change works it shows that Robert has found a place to call home in Altimonte and you can finally put his violent past behind him DK and Washington have both signaled that The Equalizer 3 is the end of McCall's story with fuk highlighting how the trilogy served as an exploration of McCall's character if this is the end it's a rather fitting one for Mcall and it brings him full circle to where he was at the start of the trilogy that equalizer 3 is ending closed on an interesting note for Denzel Washington's McCall which appears to be the Final Chapter for his take on the character the third equalizer opens with former da officer Robert McCall being wounded after wiping out a sicilian mob base he's soon taken in by the locals at a seaside village called Altamonte who come to treat him as one of their own while he recovers unfortunately the village locals are being threatened by Mafia outfit the kamur after they push the violence too far McCall is forced to push back with equal effect subplot also sees McCall aiding CIA agent Emma Collins to Dakota Fanning giving her information about designer drugs that were being shipped from the mob base he raid um it turns out the Kumar themselves are in League with terrorists and after Mall kills the brother of Mafia Chief Vincent um rearo the two men are set for a final showdown iy and Mcall kills Vincent and his men in a violent home invasion and injured Collins gets a promotion and McCall appears to have finally found peace as he decides to stay in the village denzo Washington as Mcall in The Equalizer two ining Denzel Washington's 10 best scenes in The Equalizer have found where he belongs uh the sequel presence of Darker take on the character who is seemingly still reeling from the death of best friend Susan Melissa Leo during the second film and his betrayal by former colleagues mall is more sadistic and brutal in the way he dispatches foes and seems intent on inflicting pain first however he finds his Humanity once again when the village takes him in and treats him with kindness after killing Vincent he heads back to alante and is last seen beaming as he takes part in a village celebration having just gifted his blackbook to Collins it appears Mcall has truly given up the Vigilant life equalizer 3's ending gives no hint of a further Sequel and if it truly is the last installment it's a nice note to leave the character on why Mcall committed The Equalizer three's opening Mel Washington as Robert McCall holding a gun and looking serious though in The Equalizer 3 the opening of the three Quil feels like something of a slasher film as a mob boss comes home to his Vineyard and discovers the bodies of his men littering his home his remaining henchmen confront Mcall on the Celler but of course the ladder easily comes out on top and kills them all before this Mcall hints the reason he's there is because they took something that didn't belong to them and afterward he's seen with a mystery backpack it's only in the final scenes that he reveals to Collins what's inside mcco explains that this mob stronghold also took part in uh cyber crime and that they stole the pension of a retired man in Boston McCall gave the pension Guy Greg Dyer a ride and a lift one time yeah a nod to his equalizer two- side gig and he came to Italy with the sole intent of giving the man his $360,000 back ollins doesn't understand why Mcall would go to such lengths to help a total stranger but when she laid her hands over the bag and watches the joy the recover money brings to the man and his wife she gets it Blended image of Denzel Washington and casinos for tourists and that will involve pushing the population out given the kindness with which he's been treated by the people McCall makes it clear that isn't going to happen the GI drug explain um the GI drug was the key to the equalizer threes villain plot The Equalizer third equalizer another major subplot in equalizer 3 involves Collins looking into shipments of drugs that were being sent uh from inside wine bottles at the vineyard McCall rated this is an amphetamine dubb the Jihad drug which is being sold by Syrian terrorists to fund their activities of course it turns out that kamur is buying the drug and thus directly funding terrorism which is why McCall gets the CIA involved McCall gives Vincent a taste of his own medicine in the ending and forces him a fatal dose of these pills he then walks with the the fleeing kamur Chief into the village and waits until he dies from his overdose Ollin is Susan plumber's daughter Asin Washington Dakota Fanning's character share a surprising connection Emma Collins looking at Robert McCall at an outdoor Cafe in The Equalizer 3 another lingering mystery running throughout the film is why McCall is helping a random CI agent he and Collins form a nice Bond but he always avoids answering why he contacted her the final scene in colins's office he following her recovery from a car bomb planted by the kamur that nearly killed her uh answers this question she finds that Mcall has gifted her his black book with a message stating her mother would be proud allenon looks at a graduation picture on her desk revealing Rashi scardio run the kamora uh Mafia group that terrorizes Altamont Marco visits Vincent as he is meeting with a couple that refuses to sign over their building so that Vincent may run a hotel he responds by having the wife's wheelchair bound father thrown and hung from a window then has his corpse left for the other residents to see as a warning I just a phone call saying that Gabby left school early and when he asks her teacher she says one of his officers took her runs home and finds Gabby and his wife Chiara Sonia ammer being held captive by Marco and his goons before they proceed to threaten Gio so he can stay out of their business at night Mall sees people running when they hear a bell ringing Angelo's shop has been set on fire and he and his wife can only be held back as they watch the shop go up in Flames Mall notices Marco and his goons sitting back watching things and he knows who to go after Allen sees a news report of a terrorist attack in Rome believed to be done by Syrian terrorists based on what she has learned from aall she doesn't believe this was the work of syrians even though it was their drugs found at the vineyard she confides to Conroy that she believes this is part of a bigger plan sure enough Vincent discusses with Marco his plans to take over the entire Coast with their own businesses and the terrorist attack was part of the plan Collins also ends up caught near an explosion in the city as she attempts to go near her car but she is alive and hospitalized am Marco goes to a restaurant where Gio is having dinner with his family in an attempt to get him to get boats from somalis Marco then notices Mall staring at him and he goes to confront him McCall lets him know clearly what will happen if he does not stop his threats against alante into giving up maccall but is deterred by the citizens filming him as well as Enzo shooting one of his thugs that night McCall breaks into Vincent's mansion disposing of his guards in increasingly brutal ways he finally Corners Vincent and force feeds him a lethal dose of fenlon pills in what may be one of the most chilling sequences of the movie McCall calmly informs Vincent that he has less than 20 minutes to live setting his trademark stopwatch to start the countdown and he cuts Vincent Free and commi trails him to the middle of Altamonte streets where the Crim Lord's heart with the people he said the change works it shows that Robert has found a place to call home in Altamonte and you can finally put his violent pass behind him DK and Washington have both signaled that The Equalizer 3 is the end of McCall's story with fuk highlighting how the trilogy served as an exploration of McCall's character if this is the end it's a rather fitting one for Mcall and it brings him full circle to where he was at the start of the trilogy that equalizer 3 is ending closed on an interesting note for Denzel Washington's McCall which appears to be the Final Chapter for his take men in a violent home invasion an injured Collins gets a promotion and McCall appears to have finally found peace as he decides to stay in the village denzo Washington as McCall in The Equalizer two the end of the third entry McCall appears to have found where he belongs uh the sequel presence a darker take on the character who is seemingly still reeling from the death of best friend Susan Melissa Leo during the second film and his betrayal by former colleagues Mall is more sadistic and brutal in the way he dispatches foes and seems intent on inflicting pain first however he finds his Humanity once again when the village takes him in and treats him with kindness after killing Vincent he heads back to alante and is last seen beaming as he takes part in a village celebration having just gifted his blackbook to Collins it appears McCall has truly given up the Vigilant life equalizer 3's ending gives no hint of a further Sequel and if it truly is the last installment it's a nice note to leave the character on why Mcall of The Equalizer 3 is opening Mel Washington as Robert McCall holding a gun and looking serious though in The Equalizer 3 the opening of the 3il feels like something of a slasher film as a mob boss comes home to his Vineyard and discovers the bodies of his men littering his home his remaining henchmen confront Mcall on the seller but of course the ladder easily comes out on top and kills them all before this Mcall hints the reason he's there is because they took something that didn't belong to them and afterward he's seen with a mystery backpack it's only in the final scenes that he reveals to Collins what's inside mcco explains that this mob stronghold also took part in uh cyber crime and that they stole the pension of a retired man in Boston McCall gave the pension Guy Greg Dyer a ride and a lift one time yeah a nod to his equalizer two-side gig and he came to Italy with the sole intent of giving the man his $360,000 back Collins doesn't understand why McCall would go to such lengths to help a total stranger but when she laid her hands over the bag and watches the en Joy the recovered money brings to the man and his wife she gets it Blended image of Denzel Washington and MPR rating logo theer 3 is rated the oing The Equalizer franchise has always been dark but the equalizer 3 looks to be the most shocking yet and there a reason why it's rated by the NPA Andrea scardio firing a gun in The Equalizer 3 The Equalizer 3 doesn't give much depth to its antagonists who are depicted as almost cartoonish evil their various crimes include hanging an old man from a window and later cutting off the hand of a subordinate they collect protection money from any of the stores in alante but Vincent has larger plans in mind for this little Paradise he wants to build Resorts and casinos for tourists and that will involve pushing the population out given the kindness with which he's been treated by the people McCall makes it clear that isn't going to happen the GI drug explain um the GI drug was the key to the equalizer 3's villain plot The Equalizer third equalizer another major subplot and equalizer 3 involves Collins looking into shipments of drugs that were being sent uh from inside wine bottles at the vineyard Mcall rated this is an amphetamine dub the Jihad drug which is being sold by Syrian terrorists to fund their activities of course it turns out that kamur is buying the drug and thus directly funding terrorism which is why McCall gets the CIA involved McCall gives Vincent a taste of his own medicine in the ending and forces him a fatal dose of these pills he then walks with the the fleeing Kamar Chief into the village and waits until he dies from his overdose alens is Susan plumber's daughter alen out Washington Dakota Fanning's character share a surprising connection Emma Collins looking at Robert McCall at an outdoor Cafe in The Equalizer 3 another lingering mystery running throughout the film is why McCall is helping a random CI agent he and Collins form a nice Bond but he always avoids answering why he contacted her the final scene in colins's office he following her recovery from a car bomb planted by the kamora that nearly killed her uh answers this question she finds that Mcall has gifted her his black book with a message stating her mother would be proud allenon looks at a graduation picture on her desk revealing she's the daughter of McCall's old friends Susan and Brian Bayan Bill Pullman in acting as something of a mentor to Collins and then imparting his little book of names and secrets he's setting her on a path toward becoming a great agent like Susan was it's another sign that McCall himself is ready to hang up his equalizing ways and retire I would director anine fuka has said about The Equalizer 3's ending um P Robin Call's fate fuk would direct The Equalizer 4 with Washington but doesn't expect to uh Denzel Washington as Robert McCall shoots his gun in The Equalizer 3 the third film in The Equalizer series is being tipped as the final outing for both Washington and fuka um Denzel Washington said that the equalizer for could happen but it would have to be without him um but while the actor has indicated that a fourth movie with a new actors on the table K's comments indicate otherwise according to the director fuka is open to directing equalizer 4 but he too will walk away from the franchise if Washington isn't on board with Fu's return to the director's chair being dependent on Washington's return a fourth installment is looking increasingly unlikely um Mcall looks directly at the camera with a gun pointed at him in The Equalizer 3er Antoine fugo previously entertained the notion of equalizer 4 could feature a dig DH Mall even star Denzel's son John Davis as the former option seems to have been ruled out by Washington and the latter scenario while technically possible probably won't occur either unless fuka changes his mind in the event that Washington and fuk do retam for a fourth film it would be relatively easy for the story to continue now some theorize that the third outing would see McCall himself die this isn't the case instead the sequel ends with McCall finding some inner peace The Equalizer 3 very much serves as an ending but it doesn't negate a fourth entry at all another sequel could simply pick up with mall on another mission of Vengeance and simply explain that retirement didn't suit him now that Collins has been established as his new Aly she could also come to him for help on an operation that proceeds to kill the Three Goons and then leaves vital crawling away as he grabs a shotgun and blasts vital in the head as McCall is walking away with a bag the grandson sees him and Mcall tells him to stay in the car the boy shoots mcll in the leg and runs away McCall drives far enough until he loses consciousness he is found by an officer Gio bonucci eugo Master Andrea who takes him to the local doctor in his town Enzo ariso imoon Enzo tells Gio to say that McCall fell in case anybody asks and mcau wakes up after a few days and learns he is in the town W tonte he befriends Enzo who finds a place for him to stay and he also becomes friendly with Gio and his daughter Gabby Delan lanzaro Mcall starts going by the local cafe and also befriends one of the employees Amina gas goeller after asks him if he is a good or bad man Mall says he is not sure he is haunted by um images of his late friend Susan plumber Melissa Leo and he remembers how he killed the man at the vineyard one by one um mall later contacts the diet and speaks to Emma Collins of dakata he tips her off about what he found at the vineyard in Sicily and suggests she investigate Collins goes with her partner Frank Conroy David demon and a team where they find 11 million in Euros along with a huge stash of Narcotics she later locates mcll and alamani and starts communicating with him over what they found at the vineyard and the market alaman um Thug named Marco kuanta Andrea Doo is antagonizing a fish vendor named Angelo danello perono over not giving him what he wants then demands that he have it the next time he shows up Marco and his brother Vincent and Rashi scardio run the kamora uh Mafia group that terrorizes Altamont Marco visits Vincent as he is meeting with a couple that refuses to sign over their building so that Vincent may run a hotel he responds by having the wife's wheelchair bound father thrown and hung from a window then has his corpse left for the other residents to see as a warning I just a phone call saying that Gabby left school early and when he asked her teacher she says one of his officers took her I runs home and finds Gabby and his wife Chiara Sony ammer being held captive by Marco and his goons before they proceed to threaten Gio so he can stay out of their business at night Mcall sees people running when they hear a ringing Angelo's shop has been set on fire and he and his wife can only be held back as they watch the shop go up in Flames Mcall notices Marco and his goons sitting back watching things and he knows who to go after Allen sees a news report of a terrorist attack in Rome believed to be done by Syrian terrorists based on what she has learned from aall she doesn't believe this was the work of syrians even though it was their drugs found at the vineyard she confides to Conroy that she believes this is part of a bigger plan sure enough Vincent discusses with Marco his plans to take over the entire Coast with their own businesses and the terrorist attack was part of the plan Collins also ends up caught near an explosion in the city as she attempts to go near her car but she is alive and hospitalized am Marco goes to a restaurant where Gio is having dinner with his family in an attempt to get him to get boats from somes Marco then notices Mcall staring at him and he goes to confront him Mall lets him know clearly what will happen if he does not stop his threats against the family so he grabs Marco's wrist and compresses a nerve in his hand that causes him pain until he gets his goons out of the restaurant outside Marco plans to retaliate but one of his goons gets run over by a van as the driver another going has already been killed by Mcall he kills the last goon before fighting Marco breaking his arm and getting him to stab himself to death after Vincent learns of his brother's death he is visited by Chief Bella talo margato who appears to be in League with the kamur Bella makes threats which results in Vincent stabbing his hand and then having his goon cut Bella's hand off before sending him to the hospital to get it reattached um Vincent then plans to get revenge Vincent and his goons go to Alon and attack Gio firing a gun near his ear and threatening to kill him and his family until his brother's murderer shows up McCall comes out and tells Vincent to take him and to leave everyone else alone before Vincent can kill mcll Enzo fires a rifle of his own the residents then get their phones out and record the villains forcing them to flee before police arrive Vincent returns to his compound and begins to make plans to attack Almont the next day unfortunately for them mall has found them first and begins to pick them off Vincent wakes up when one of his goons blood drips on him from the ceiling before the body crashes through the glass Vincent tries to run away but ends up knocked out by mall when he wakes up he finds that McCall has given him um lethal dose of the drugs found at the vineyard giving him a few minutes before his heart gives out Vincent attempts to run in the street with McCall slowly walking behind him and he ends up hit by a car the Crim Lord stumbles a little further before he finally expires e Mcall later visits the hospital where colins estain um he admits to her that the real reason he came to Sicily was to retrieve pension money from someone he knew that had it stolen by the criminals um he leaves her with the bag full of money goes to Boston where the man McCall was talking about lives he and his wife are emotional and grateful to find that their money has been recovered when she goes back to work Collins receives uh a little black book from a call on all his personal Gatherings with a note saying your mother would be so proud of you Collins then looks at a photograph on her desk revealing she is Susan's daughter Mcall stays in altim man and joins them in celebrating the victory of their football team and Sicily an Italian drug lord and his child pull up in a jeep to a secluded Villa strewn across the rused courtyard which on better days would be an ideal vacation spot are the bloodied dismembered bodies of a goon Army Eman exits the jeep with a pistol leaving the kid in the vehicle he and one of his henchmen enter the home where they discover more carcasses whose causes of death riddled with bullets their faces cleav by a butcher's knife grow increasingly gruesome noted Hitman turned ghost Robert McCall Denzel Washington sits beneath two gunmen um was McCall The Prisoner or are they he of course dispatches them with ease grabbing a set of keys from the dead drug Lord's body that hold what McCall came to retrieve you won't guess what mundane package McCall has just murdered an army of killers to get but it doesn't really matter now the hamfisted McGuffin doesn't serve the rest of the film this opening scene from its stomach churning violence to the Reliance on impractical effects indicates where this once enjoyable nuts and bolts action franchise has gone wrong Antoine fuk The Equalizer 3 is not just what many assume will be the last film in the franchise it's the fifth overall collaboration between the director and Washington their partnership on its face is puzzling sure their first teaming Training Day netted Washington is Lone best actor win but their successive films have only gotten harsher and Dumber since that Triumph what exactly does Washington get out of these films um it's a relationship that often recalls the Run Anthony man and Jimmy Stewart experienced in their eight pictures together to to be sure fuku Washington has mined far poor the madic treasures when Stuart left his Prestige perge his good guy image and asu's mannerisms to explore darker stories in man's freeing westerns you can tell Washington gets the same pleasure here not caring if the audience experiences the same Adventure Sensations he does because like make no mistake The Equalizer 3 is hot garbage it's also a fascinating but failed attempt by fuka and Washington to make their own man Stewart film consider how the Western genre stains this picture during McCall's raid on the Villa he is while recuperating in the restful Town McCall learns to love the people and the peace they provide him though a local young gang leader Marco Andrea Doo looms over them Mall who says he's merely passing through would rather avoid intervening like any Western when push comes to shove mcau will defend them while teaching these acquiescing people how to stand up to their oppressors EO and cinematographer Robert Richardson platoon and a few good man provide further Western details through stero lighting Washington's silhouette spells danger while his weary frame expresses a close relationship to death um Richardson also captures the actor from extreme low angles uh La John Ford painting heroic compositions the problem however is they've made Mcall so vicious we're not quite action Series this film ures it goes out with a bang deagle viewers will remember who colins parents are Susan and Brian plumber Lisa Melisa Leo and Bill Pullman they both appeared in The Equalizer as McCall Susan's helping Gathering Intel on nicolay Teddy um itching Co Martin sookis um who was was involved in a criminal organization that happened to involve McCall's friend Alina clo Grace morch Susan was murdered by McCall's former partner Dave York Pedro Pascal in The Equalizer 2 leading Mcall to track down York and dispatch of him alongside the other members of his former special ops team called Altamonte who come to treat him as one of their own while he recovers unfortunately the village locals are being threatened by Mafia outfit the kamur after they push the violence too far Mcall is forced to push back with equal effect subplot also sees McCall aiding CIA agent Emma Collins to Dakota Fanning giving her information about designer drugs that were being shipped from the mob base he raided um it turns out the Kumar themselves are in League with terrorists and after maau kills the brother of Mafia Chief Vincent um rearo the two men are set for a final showdown Amy and McCall kills Vincent and his men in a violent home invasion and injured Collins gets a promotion and McCall appears to have finally found peace as he decides to stay in the village denzo Washington as McCall entire action movie but Robert McCall does not die in The Equalizer 3 by the time the credits roll a movie initially looks like this could be a possibility by having him be shot in the back after the opening sequence which leaves his health in a critical state it is only after being operated on by a local that Mcall proves to be stable the film ultimately elects to leave Washington's hero alive to give him a happy ending or leave the door open for a sequel instead of counting him among everyone who dies in The Equalizer 3 a big theme of The Equalizer 3 is the idea that people end up where they're supposed to be and by the end of the third entury McCall appears to have found where he belongs uh the sequel presence a darker take on the character who is seemingly still reeling from the death of best friend Susan Melissa Leo during the second film and his betrayal by former colleague mall is more sadistic and brutal in the way he dispatches foes and seems intent on inflicting pain first however he finds his Humanity once again when the village takes him in and treats him with kindness after killing Vincent he heads back to alante and is last scene beaming as he takes part in a village celebration having just gifted his blackbook to Collins it appears McCall has truly given up the Vigilant life equalizer 3's ending gives no hint of a further Sequel and if it truly is the last installment it's a nice note to leave the character on why m call committed The Equalizer 3 is opening mle Washington as Robert McCall holding a gun and looking serious though in The Equalizer 3 the opening of the threequel feels like something of a slasher film as a mob boss comes home to his Vineyard and discovers the bodies of his men littering his home his remaining henchmen confront McCall on a seller but of course the ladder easily comes out on top and kills them all before this McCall hints the reason he's there is because they took something that didn't belong to them and afterward he's seen with a mystery backpack it's only in the final scenes that he reveals to Collins what's inside mcco explains that this mob stronghold also took part in uh cyber crime and that they stole the pension of a retired man in Boston McCall gave the pension Guy Greg Dyer a ride and a lift one time yeah a nod to his equalizer two-side gig and he came to Italy with the sole intent of giving the man his $360,000 back Collin doesn't understand why mcau would go to such lengths to help a total stranger but when she laid her hands over the back and watches the joy the recovered money to be the most shocking yet and there a reason why it's rated by the NPA Andrea scardio firing a gun in The Equalizer 3 The Equalizer 3 doesn't give much depth to its antagonists who are depicted as almost cartoonish evil their various crimes include hanging an old man from a window and later cutting off the hand of a subordinate May collect protection money from any of the stores in alante but Vincent has larger plans in mind for this little Paradise he wants to build Resorts and casinos for tourists and that will involve pushing the population out given the kindness with which he's been treated by the people McCall makes it clear that isn't going to happen the GI drug explain um the GI drug was the key to the equalizer 3's villain plot The Equalizer third equalizer another major subplot in equalizer 3 involves Collins looking into shipments of drugs that were being sent uh from inside wine bottles at the vineyard Mcall raid this is an amphetamine dubb the Jihad drug which is being sold by Syrian terrorists to fund their activities of course it turns out that Kamar is buying the drug and thus directly funding terrorism which is why McCall gets the CIA involved McCall gives Vincent a taste of his own medicine in the ending and forces him a fatal dose of these pills he then walks with the the fleeing kamur Chief into the village and waits until he dies from his overdose Alin is Susan plumber's daughter alen Washington Dakota Fanning's character share a surprising connection Emma Collins looking at Robert McCall at an outdoor Cafe in The Equalizer 3 another lingering mystery running throughout the film is why McCall is helping a random CI agent he and Collins form a nice Bond but he always avoids answering why he contacted her the final scene in colins's office he following her recovery from a car bomb planted by the kamora that nearly killed her uh answers this question she finds that Mcall has gifted her his black book with a message stating her mother would be proud alen looks at a graduation picture on her desk revealing she's the daughter of McCall's old friends Susan and Brian Bayan Bill Pullman in acting as something of a mentor to Collins and then imparting his little book of names and secrets he's setting her on a path toward becoming uh a great agent like Susan was it's another sign that McCall himself is ready to hang up his equalizing ways and retire what director Antoine fuka has said about The Equalizer 3's ending um P Robin Call's fate F would direct The Equalizer 4 with Washington but doesn't expect to uh Denzel Washington as Robert McCall shoots his gun in The Equalizer 3 the third film in The Equalizer series is being tipped as the final outing for both Washington and fuka um Denzel Washington said that the equalizer for could happen but it would have to be without him um but while the actor has indicated that a fourth movie with a new on the table K's comments indicate otherwise according to the director fuka is open to directing equalizer 4 but he too will walk away from the franchise if Washington isn't on board with Fu's return to the director's chair being dependent on Washington's return a fourth installment is looking increasingly unlikely um Mcall looks directly at the camera with a gun pointed at him in The Equalizer 3er Antoine fugo previously entertained the notion of equalizer 4 could feature a digitally DH Mcall even star Denzel son John David as the former option seems to have been ruled out by Washington and the latter scenario while technically possible probably won't occur either unless fuka changes his mind in the event that Washington and fuk do retam for a fourth film it would be relatively easy for the story to continue now some theorize that the third outing would see McCall himself die this isn't the case instead the sequel ends with McCall finding some inner peace The Equalizer 3 very much serves as an ending but it doesn't negate a fourth at all any other sequel could simply pick up with McCall on another mission of Vengeance and simply explain that retirement didn't suit him now that colins has been established as his new alley she could also come to him for help on an operation that needs his unconventional methods of course heading in this direction could risk the equalizer for having to repeat The Equalizer 3's Ending by retiring a call yet again
