hey guys Dr Morris injury experts so unfortunate injury tonight we saw that Christian mcaffrey everyone expected him to play you know Monday Night Football we said hey yeah he's banged up with a calf they added an Achilles last week but we didn't get any significant red flags saying that he wasn't going to play tonight but about an hour hour and a half before the game kicks off boom he's inactive now what do we do if you got lucky and you happen to have Jordan Mason as his backup then great you slide him in but most people probably don't have that and it was way too late to swap that out just a tough situation but now we hear Rumblings from Adam shefer saying they're not sure he's ready for week two now this was my concern when I tweeted about him in Late July and then when I tweeted about him early in uh August when I said hey he's already dealing with a calf this is the third calf injury that he's dealt with in the past year and a half then he didn't practice pretty much the entire month of August which is appropriate then we hear late last week hey it's not just a calf It's actually an Achilles so now you're talking about two different injuries if you think this is magically going to go away you're wrong this is a significant injury that is going to take a long time to heal so I don't think he plays in week two and even when he does play look at what Jordan Mason is doing on the field right now averaging six and a half yards per carry he's tearing up a likely pretty good defense are they just going to sit him and say no no no we're going to give it to our high-risk back that just finished the league uh leag and touches the last time he did that he missed two years almost entirely played like six games in a course of two years so unfortunately I have significant concerns about maccaffrey is it possible that this turns into a torn Achilles yes and if that doesn't scare you I I don't I don't know what does so when you add an annoying calf injury which isn't particularly concerning but then you add an Achilles we're like okay okay now you add the volume that he's had throughout his career how much money he's worth how much volume he usually gets on the field 15 20 25 touches now you're starting to play with fire a little bit and this is my was my concern with him from the 101 you H he has to be perfect to smash to justify his ADP nonetheless unfortunate injury let's see how it plays out hopefully he can potentially suit up in week two I think it's going to be Jordan Mason who should be the number one waiver wire pick as a result heading into week two against Minnesota and maybe we'll talk about week three and week four after that but unfortunate news for CMC owners if you like this type of content do me a favor smash a thumbs up subscribe and check out some of the stuff we have at the injury experts.com
