[Music] wear at purple day is an annual legitimate acire awareness day especially for Young People based in Australia supporters wear purple to celebrate diversity and young people from the legit Community well it's all about celebrating uh and showing respect to Rainbow young people uh and to unite lgbtqia plus young people and we've all got the right to be proud of who we are and who we are becoming where purple day is an awareness day and movement of expression where people come together to celebrate diversity and show support to the LGBT qia plus Community particularly young people we use this day to raise awareness on the challenges faced by rainbow youth including discrimination bullying and mental health issues because we have so many young people in our community who are scared to ask for help or even support and express themselves to who they are uh we at purple day is important because it Fosters a supportive safe empowering and inclusive environment for rainbow youth people and just promotes the message that everybody deserves to be proud of who they are uh well the day is due to the international movement of love and support founded by students in response to teenagers taking their own lives due to bullying and harassment very important to support our young people it's a vital event that promotes inclusivity support and education and helps to create a safer and more accepting environment for legitimate youth it's something I needed when I was younger and I'm glad I can help lift up today's youth and support them in their respective Journeys the concept of we at purple was established to show young people in the community that there is hope and that they are loved by wearing purple we are showing young people that we see them support them and respect their identity purple represents Spirit we wear it to promote inclusivity and acceptance it helps to spark conversations about the issues young people face uh wearing purple on this day demonstrates that Australians celebrate and respect the identities of these young people reinforcing the message that everyone has the right to be proud of who they [Music] are it is important for young people to know that there are people who support them and accept them for who they are young people in the pride Community experience High rates of mental health conditions suicide homelessness and discrimination not every young person is accepted in their own home it's important to provide safe spaces for young people and show that we value diversity and inclusion because we are trying to promote well-being for the Youth space and for people in the rainbow community and create a safe place for them to Express themselves it's vital for their mental health safety and personal development it helps create a more inclusive compassionate Society where all individuals can live authentically and without fear of discrimination supporting rainbow youth is vital because they often face unique challenges including higher rates of bullying mental health issues and social isolation showing support creates a sense of belonging and acceptance which can improve their well-being and overall quality of life M Family Care is continuing to work towards promoting a safer environment for young people in the pride community and ensuring we're doing what we can to provide a safe and inclusive service Maly Family Care supports lgbtqa plus youth by providing safe and inclusive spaces where they can express themselves freely and access the necessary resources so we uh Provide support I guess internally by educating our staff on pronouns gender affirming conversations gender identity inclusive language lots of allyship events uh and also we are on the rainbow te Journey right now at Mali Family Care we support rainbow Youth and their families through counseling advocacy and educational initiatives aimed at promoting inclusion and understanding deal Family Care is actively working to improve outcomes for legitimate acquir youth through evidence-based practices while there have been some challenges along the way their commitment to making positive changes is evident there is optimism that the future will be brighter for legiate acquir youth who engage with M Family Care as they continue to refine and enhance the services
