Craig Harrison post-match, as The New Saints beat Flint Town United 5-1 in the Nathaniel MG Cup

Craig Harrison a very comfortable win this evening for the new Saints with a a very young side as well yeah it was very good very good obviously we um we've got you know further into the European competition by getting through the first round and obviously we'll play a minimum of eight games all together which takes right into the season and and bang in the middle of um of two really tough ties then we've got a we've got a Nathaniel cup which it's our cup we defend it you know so we wanted a win and you know and there a couple of first team Lads needed 45 minutes or maybe 75 you know you look at blae got 75 Sean got 75 Harrison got 45 Leo played 45 and then the rest of the lads were were excellent you know I thought um right way through I think we finish the game the last last 20 minutes I think we finished the game with with I think probably average age of about 20 so the the the the young boys done really well especially Lads had started you know you looked it obviously Nathan's been with the first team Jack made some fantastic saves um then you've got Luke Johnson who's who who' done brilliant as well um Jake's class as a first team lad you know you know but but Jake sent forward Caleb on the right brilliant fantastic you know the lads done really well and the boys that come on done really well as well so now um it it was very good very pleasing you know just just shows how good of a job the academy are doing and you know because Flint wasn't their strongest team but they still had six or seven Lads in there that have got some fantastic experience you know boys that have played 50 plus Welsh Prem game GES you know you Alec at the back has played in the African nations Cup played in the Champions League for Sheriff you know so that you look at it and now they've done really proud of them they they've done really well and talking of experienced players it was great to see Harrison magy make his debut for the new SS yes it was yeah obviously you know Harrison come in late obviously it's the it's the nature the the beast when we bring players from England you know they've got other things they got holidays booked etc etc come in then you got a little niggle you know the first game he played in over an island and it took him three or four weeks to get back up the speed and it was brilliant for him to to get 45 minut you know he um he got through a fine no problem at all and um him I thought him and Blain were excellent tonight and five goals five different names on the score sheet and the youngsters also found the back of the net as well they did a couple of Debut goals which was which was amazing which was fantastic and then obviously a Long Ranger from Leo who you know know Leo can strike the ball like he does and you know like I said it's um as well as the young Lads done the senior players as well though that the you know the PLS Harrison Leos you know Shan Bradley you know got got the lads through the game as well so you know everyone was brilliant and obviously there's a massive game coming up on Tuesday in malova yeah yeah this huge game but it's also important that players get minutes as well because they can go a long time without play minutes and we're going to need everyone we've got you know very minimum four games whether whether that's we win the next one and go through the Europa playoff or whether we get beaten we go through to Europa Conference playoff so we've got a minimum of four games so it's really important at some point it's getting that tight now with with with teams at some point I predict one of them games might go extra time and we um we'll need you know as many players that can got good minutes in them so yeah it's really pleasing from that point of view
