period was the star of the game with 28 carries 147 yards plus a touchdown you also can't you can't deny the fact that defense held up too because you guys limited the Jets to what 70 odd rushing yards yeah yeah if that def defense was cooking man I got chance to wa I got chance to uh watch the alternate for play byplay and I I literally just said snowman is lying because every time he said well there's a chance they could come back I'm like really that was something Victor wanted to say but we can't say it here but yeah true I said no offense to Ryan McCarthy but it's the Jets yeah it didn't exactly have the game of his life last night he he didn't have the game of the year but that's good that's gonna happen no everything that came out of it was the defense stood up you know yeah you guys didn't have CMC going but the fact that you had and we still ran for over 200 yards yeah you had Jordan Mason go off for for a buck 47 Debo went off for 23 in his carries Brock even got in on the action for an 11 yard Scamper so I mean right there it just shows that San Fran is the all-around team right now Brock didn't have the game of his life the field goals came in is what kept you guys ahead of things and the defense stood on its head and the ners didn't need Brock pry to have an allout game I mean when you can turn and hand the ball to Jordan Mason 28 times I mean let's let's look if let's look for the numbers perspective Brock was 19 29 for 231 yards no touches no picks but again when you have a team as stacked this is why I said that the window for other NFL teams is closed because when you have a team that is I remember you saying that and he said that last night in the chat yes during during the play byplay we had team that stack the 49ers you don't need Brock to go you know 20 like 24 of 35 for 275 yards in like three TDS as long as he's not turning the ball over you have a chance of winning yep 19 of 29 for 231 didn't throw a touch didn't throw a pick uh average with two rushing touchdowns one by Debo and one by uh Mason meanwhile on the other side Aaron Rogers Mr Rogers Neighborhood turned to a slum real quick and fast 13- 21 167 yards one touch and a pick here's what here's what else I notice but I will say this he to see that he went through a full game it is it's because he went through a full game well about as full as it was until he got replaced at the end of it yeah but at least he's not carried off he's not you know limping able he got through he got through it until late in the game when Robert Solas saw the game was out of hand and he pulled Rogers for Tyrod Taylor that's just to conserve Rogers yeah and honestly conserve Rogers this is now his this is now Aaron's first game First full game with the Jets so this could only knowledged about my health concerns about my health situation period um being disabled being at home and being emotional as all get out I mean Shane would just echo my wife's words in my head and say breathe man breathe especially last Tuesday when my set crashed and then I crashed I have since talk with my wife about it I have since talk with my daughter about it and I felt so bad because I promised my children that I wouldn't freak out in front of them yet my family knows that I'm pushing everything down as best I can to be there for them right you know so if you don't give a darn about one another a team is not a team yep and the other one was when he was talking with one of the uh trainers and he says you know now if those boys you give their all and fail then I'm proud of them playoffs not Caitlyn is one of my new Heroes because I you know you know Caitlyn's been my hero all year the reason why is because like again I've been waiting for particularly a female athlete to clap back at the monol monster known no no not the clown screw the clown enough from the clown I'm talking about the the four-letter Network oh that yeah she's starting to call them out good I hope can't play both Sid of that field no you right you can't you can't looking at the WNBA power wreckings Indiana sits at number six right now they got two home games coming with the two-time champion Las Vegas Aces Wednesday and Friday I believe I believe Wednesday and Friday and Sunday they play the Dallas wings and they close their season four days later at Washington okay besides and the aces are going to give him hell yeah period the aces are going to give him hell they'll be luy the series and but the advantage is both of those games are in Indianapolis Wednesday and Friday and let let's just put let's just put this all the way out there and shut some people up that want to believe now I'm not saying Angel re is not a dynamic Talent she is she is she is she is but the reason for the big turnaround in the WNBA where's number 22 yeah I mean every game they played they've sold out yeah every single one she was electrifying things in Iowa she literally did a lot of damage in the uh in March Madness for the women's side she's carried it straight into the uh her rookie season in the WNBA plain and simple Caitlyn Clark has put the the WNBA back on the map yeah and I'm so happy for it and it's been through just the play of it like you really don't see Caitlin Clark having a lot of these you know tags and slogans and all this you know braining she just plays the game and I think that's the reason why people don't like her because like someone that has this type of of hype behind her this type of media following the fact that she doesn't have a message it the fact that she isn't using it to promote a message I think angers people agreed yeah agreed she's got nothing else behind her but the game playay and letting the gameplay settle everything on the court right and so now people are trying to discredit her Molly Kum and uh um Jam Hill and a couple of others Cheryl swoops being one Cheryl swoops which is high and you know what after we talked to Allison I have a few think up until now to me at least it seems like the forl network isan has like willfully ignored the WNBA up until now has is that a has that actually happened or am might just confusing myself that has I verify it myself and Allison will too that has happened it has um I will will say that as it has gained popularity and respect there has been an entirely different attitude within those within this time um I have been pleasantly surprised because as this as as the progression has gone as the uh as Caitlyn Clark has gotten better uh acclimated to the league as those numbers have risen T take for example last uh last week when the NFL started think about this the Indiana Fever was playing at the same time as uh Eagles Packers and they still cracked over like it was a million two viewers yep million 1.2 1.2 million folks it's at the same time the Eagles and Packers were playing in Brazil I did I did the fever game despite everybody begging me to cover the cover the Eagles I'm like what for fever game was more exciting for God's sakes I mean I got 3100 got injured exactly I got 3,100 viewers that night yeah Friday night I got 31 I got 3,100 viewers that night and the Fun's going to continue uh tomorrow but let's bring let let's talk about let's talk about this Angel Reese's rookie season unfortunately has come to a bitter end with it has it has and the it it's sad um out with a wrist injury the for some reason the internet blew up with rumors that she was pregnant you know all these crazy crazy assumptions where where howly conspiracy theories conspiracy the like crazy manane it's it's so insane and so anyway uh Angel Reese is such a huge loss um she has a hairline fracture um she could have played through the season but she also risked uh very um uh what do you call it um she she risked tendinitis she risked arthritis if she kept playing she risked a bigger fracture so I say kudos to her for putting her health first and you know um I think the uh uh let's first of all let's celebrate her accomplishments you know the most consecutive double doubles ever uh in the WNBA with 15 most rebounds 446 probably 50 50% of them were hers we're we're catching our own rebounds honestly averaging 13.6 Point points per game 13.1 rebounds and you know you've gota you've got to give credit where credits due to Shai Barbie she has revitalized this franchise in such a way that you would not recognize it as the same team that J that James Wade coached to a um uh the championship in 2021 so to my mind she has done everything that a rookie should have done and more she has played like the professional that she is she's taken a lot of Sling and arrows and and has and and has elevated that game and elevated the the expectations for the Chicago sky this year I give her absolute kudos for being that woman for and for stepping up as a rookie you cannot imagine um what what this team would be without her um moving forward um Kennedy Carter Camila cardoo um Izzy Harrison all of those who have contributed over the last couple of games um have got to step up yes in her absence there is I mean there's no substitute for Angel absolutely absolutely no substitute however collectively this is theide behind the depth chart right they can build the holes when someone when someone is injured exactly exactly what Kennedy Carter has to do is find a way to score the 28 points per game that they did per G uh that she did for Dallas um and essentially eliminating them from the playoffs that's what that's what Kennedy has to do now that she's back from Health call Health protoc calls and yeah it's just going to be very difficult though to hang on to that number eight spot otherwise and you've got to also look at Camila cardoo now she's been averaging 12 points and 7.3 rebounds 2.7 blocks in the last three games pretty good number three you know number three uh player pick in the WNBA draft very easy very easy yep and so you know uh instead of the combination being um being uh the Barbie and Ken show uh let's make it the Camila and Ken show how's that let's make that happen for uh and maybe maybe maybe they can they can keep their number eight spot in the playoffs well they have five games remaining yeah and there are three teams that are chasing them with the loss of Angel Reese like you said um a moment ago it really dampens and hampers their chances to make the playoffs can they hold on to that number eight seed that is a real good question question um I I have fleeting hope that they can and the reason why it's fleeting is that um right ahead of them is the Phoenix Mercury who have gone one and five in the last um six games and they uh they have been struggling to hold on to that spot the Washington Mystics um who hold the number uh nine spot currently um are kind of on the move and they they actually surpassed the Atlanta Dream this week who have not been um not been up to their usual um so the question the question is are they going to be able to step up um in the in a manner that's possible now uh in their next few games you've got um the uh uh basically they've won with the sky they have uh lost one to to Vegas and then one against the Sparks and uh and Dallas and here's the deal they have to win against a winning team they have not done that in so long and I think it's going to take what I said before it's going to take Kennedy Carter to take control of this team make it hers for the next five games there's no way that that this team is going to uh keep that number eight spot without such a deal without without having um the a new combination of players um uh really communicating with each other making sure that they get the points in the paint as well as their outside shooting which has been a problem all year so we have got to make a a very concerted concerted effort this year to be um uh if they really want it they're going to have to step up let's talk about some attendance records that uh Caitlyn Clark and the fever and Angel Ree and the sky have have um I'm M put thank you the Indiana Fever are the only team in the league that's averaging 15,000 plus every single home game was sold out the moment they drafted Caitlyn Clark right I don't even have to look at the box when I do my alternate alternative play-by-play coverage I don't even have to look at the box score to see the attendance 17274 and they have two tough ones coming up both against the aces tomorrow and Friday to really test to see how far they have come in the second half of this year when they got the Olympic break when they had a chance to rest and Pull and pull it together Indiana's been on fire but now they face the I believe the unanimous MVP in Asia Wilson not once but twice in their house in gamebridge fieldhouse in Indianapolis as like you said um Ally they got a win against the winning team yes fever have now the fever have done that but now you got the playoffs coming up in about two weeks time and you gotta really really prove your medal and these two games against Las Vegas will I believe help set them up for the playoffs playoff atmosphere they have not experienced since 2016 I sincerely hope so um I sincerely hope so the um one of the things that that we can say about the Indiana is that they are simply on fire period they have they're 19 and 17 on the season right now and considering where they came from my God I mean let's take let's just talk about that for a second they're eight and two since the Olympic Break um I see that they could they they might climb higher they've already clinched their playoff spot but they is probably like we said last week it's going to be higher it it could be four it could be five they could get one of those top they could get one of those top four they I I think so which would which would also give them uh a good Advantage for for home you know they could be playing the games at that Fieldhouse or they could be playing where the Pacers play which would be very very nice wouldn't it it would be it would be and here's the thing each one of those top four teams Indiana's knocked them off yeah in the season have knocked them off they've knocked off the top four teams so they winning teams speaking of attendance the Chicago Stars set a record at sgeek Stadium the red stars yes over 7,200 attendees at their welcome back from the Olympics they push uh and what's more that attendance record 15 years they the red stars have been playing they usually average around 3,000 4,000 a game and I mean they have not been at seed geek stadium in Bridge View since July since way before the Olympic Break um this year the nwsl with the gold medalists uh on every team they push past the one and a half million attendance Mark which is a very which is the first for the nwsl and and um for the Chicago Red stars who are currently currently in the eighth position how is it what is it with our Chicago teams they're e position both of them what the hell that's wild is it unreal it's unreal um that that that is crazy it is and the thing is and their record right now is 72 and 10 but yeah and like I said eighth place um it didn't help that they their game back uh from uh from all the Olympic hyp hype was against the Orlando Pride who leads the the entire nwsl and they had they have a stellar record they're number one but um the here's here's one thing that that the red stars have that they didn't have before the Olympic break they have LW Miller lude Miller is the Brazilian soccer star um who um uh who is um just joined the uh this uh the red stars and I'm looking for her to get uh to join with mallerie Swanson our Olympic hero and Alysa the goalie extraordinaire to push them into the playoff spots for the for the next month they've got they've got a little time um as we talked about the WNBA playoffs start in on September 22nd they uh the red stars are are are starting shortly after that so it is going to be a really interesting month for women's sports it yeah I'm so looking forward to it and after that women's college basketball will be back in play yes yes there is a possibility that old snowman may be heading home to cover a women's basketball team to my old stopping grounds at Chicago State University they've asked me to reach out to them I'm going to reach out to them just to just to see what happens because one of my best friends is now the coach there this name should sound familiar Corey Irvin I'm sorry what you heard what I said Victor Corey Irvin is now the head coach at Chicago State and Corey has given me many votes of confidence because I messaged her and I said I might just take a chance and try to cover and try to cover you guys not only did she say go for it but I think she's gonna put in a few good words for me and I also know one of the assistant coaches who is very very very dear to me Chenise Jenkins and I'm the only I am the only person that gets to call her CJ because I saw play I saw her play at Whitney Young and I knew then and I told her mother I said CJ is gonna wreck some shop wherever she goes and of course uh CJ played at the Paul when she got when she got to depal I said one of these days she's going to be the player of the year in Big East lo and behold her senior season at the Paul y Jenkins my little sister CJ was as the player of the year in the Big East and I had a ton of messages coming from the family and most of them were going how did you know listen CJ and defron smart who was also very dear to me because I saw her play at Whitney Young I remember her yeah CJ and Def fron smart were absolute terrors in the public league especially yes they were especially when they played Marshall yeah why because to borrow from the late GRE Keith Jackson those two point guards can run to all the Whitney Young teams I had a chance to watch under Corey irin they run that's right they run that's how I knew and and watching her you know under the tutelage at defron smart seeing her grow into the player that she became at the Paul it's like man I told these I told everybody's like man that's easy I saw her play at Whitney Young and defy the odds yeah because no one thought CJ would be the starting point guard after def fron graduated def fron smart Chrissy Harper who was a great CHR Harper who was a who was a sharpshooter all I I mean I've seen great women's basketball players in my time in Chicago public league for 21 years 20 years I covered them old well my in down here and this is the gray hair my wife picks out and she says did you see how long this hair is I love it you know I've been covering uh depal basketball since 200 and six and uh spottier teams before spottier times before that and after that but the thing is that um one thing that I would love to see depal do is get back to the NCAA I would like to see them you know Doug Bruno deserves so much in the way of credit for all that he has done for women's basketball he's in the Hall of Fame you know can't can't deny that but he he has created not only an atmosphere where they where they can academically succeed and succeed in life he's he also went to 17 consecutive NCAA tournaments and the last couple of years it hasn't happened it got and uh I think it's just a matter of the recruitment that he's that that he's been able to do and you know the greener pastures elsewhere but for for the type of school deal is he's right on top with with the the best of them with Yukon with um uh with Tennessee with all of those who have been you know uh as far as I'm concerned if he had a bigger recruiting pool and a bigger staff maybe he could be South Carolina you know he could be a dawn Staley chance to meet I had the chance to meet Doug Bruno many years ago and friend wonderful he is a friend I love he is a friend because the first time that I did the uh girls public league tournament and was hosted at depal and I had the chance to uh cover that I'm writing my notes down and the next thing I know Doug Bruno is sitting next to me of course that's that's I talked to him he's he's he's one of the coaches I met in Chicago is very dear to me yes the T at that time he said next year anytime you want to come see us play I'll help you get a media pass he did that God love him he did and I was at to Paul all that Following season wanted to see well I I've been looking through everything and first thing I'm the first thing I got to deal with is the fact that the Chiefs Ravens game should have gone into overtime it should have it didn't a toe got way they yep and the refs made the right call yeah they they made the right call but honestly that game should have gone OT it would have been nice it would been nice yes it would have it would have been the perfect way to start off the season I like the Colts game yeah man the Colts are Colts are gonna be something else the Colt in the future the gonna be something else all right I mean we've we we already see here in week one where a lot of teams are basically going to be in the division yeah we basically know who our Front Runners are going to be yeah we know the Panthers are going to well the Panthers are gonna Panther the Panthers are gonna suck the Giants are GNA be deflated did y'all see those uniforms on the Giants monkey what the hell was what hon I didn't wait a minute I didn't wait a minute wait a minute I didn't I didn't watch game I didn't watch you didn't see the uniforms nope I didn't watch that game I'll try to find a I'll try to find a picture of it but as far as the Giants uniforms go Chris what in the all types of blue hell Le let's put it this way the helmet looked like it belonged in the 30s because that's what they were trying to go for yeah the act itself look we ain't making this up Victor what the red and blue jersey is that yes with hockey jersey Centennial Jersey the Centennial hock hockey hle hockey jersey man I can't talk today okay yeah the cenia hockey jersey they wore that okay and let's not for I'm looking at it now at the highlights now if might had to wear they got these red they got these red ass jerseys the middle front and back and then those ug you barely can you barely can see the numbers yeah and then those ugly blue and red helmets these are worse than Jacksonville Jaguars helmets when they went two tone and to think that Jacksonville's actually got some weird crap lined up this year like what they've got a completely white helmet that they're going to be debuting they've got a few other things going on and apparently they've got a throwback to their original uniforms coming oh dear another team that went throwback yesterday was actually the Seahawks yeah they went back to their old uniforms what I thought was funny what one of the games that I actually watched was the commanders versus the bcks you actually watch the Redskins game I W I watched the highlights of that game and I will say this only the commanders I'm sorry Sensei only the commanders can make Baker Mayfield look like Patrick Mahomes and Baker May somehow Baker Mayfield still has a job dot after dot somehow Baker m still has a job I mean I mean how if you if you went if you went with what happened during the Redskins game you probably like yeah I can see him being a lead quarterback but then you remember it's the commander secondary it's the res secondary yeah but I will say Jaden Daniels he impressed me a bit he's got wheels but I really want to see him stay in the pocket and throw requires them to protect him line wasn't that bad but the re receivers never got open the line held their own I will give them that the line held their own but there oh you know what I just saw the Giants helmet yeah you know who they're impersonating even though they don't have the color Michigan yeah yeah yeah yeah the Michigan Wing Michigan Wing going on in their helmets blue and yellow yeah you just blue and yellow yep going back to Jaden Daniels it also doesn't help when he had to be the primary rusher yet uh during that game yesterday either and he wasn't the only one well it goes back again that his receivers never got open for so I mean I'll give him the fact he created the plays and everything he got two scor he got two scores out of it but the fact of the matter is he can't constantly be doing Bowl and they're trying to get one from Mercedes Benz Stadium it's warmer down there who's gonna make a trip to Chicago to contend with negative 16 degree wind chill to watch a Super Bowl unless your team you ain't going and you if your team isn't it you still ain't going you'll watch it from home stream that stuff on peacock yes but the die hards will be die hards and of course they will you know
