Phoenix Mercury's Natasha Cloud suspended for one game after reaching technical foul limit New York September 2024 the WNBA has announced that Phoenix Mercury guard Natasha Cloud will face a onegame suspension without pay after receiving her seventh technical foul of the 2024 season this suspension comes as a result of WNBA rules that mandate an automatic one-game suspension for any player or coach who accumulates seven technical fouls during the regular season the league also specifies that for every two additional technical fouls received beyond the 7th an additional game suspension is imposed Cloud was assessed her seventh technical foul with 424 remaining in the second quarter of Sunday's matchup against the Las Vegas Aces as a result she will be requ ired to serve her suspension during the Mercury's upcoming game against the Atlanta Dream on September 3rd in a related instant Phoenix guard Diana terasi also received what would have been her seventh technical foul during the same game with 739 left in the third quarter however after a review by the league office tas's foul was rescinded keeping her season total at six technical fowls thereby avoiding an automatic suspension the Mercury will now have to face the the dream without one of their key players as Cloud serves her suspension potentially impacting their performance as the season progresses
