And actually we have proof of that. Take a look at this large tree that's blocking the road behind me. Mlgw Ceo Doug mcgowan says when a tree's root system is saturated like this large tree that you see on your screen, they tend to fall due to heavy rain and wind gusts which causes those power outages all throughout areas of the mid south. Mlgw crews are working in the heavy rain trying to restore power to their customers called mlgnw. And you know, they said you're part of a power outage of 38 people. Walt Jackson says part of their East Memphis neighborhood were without power since this morning. He says the heavy rainfall due to Francine changed his plans. He had three places we wanted to be today but because of the storm and the power being out and having to get my generator started up, we just, if those plans hadn't changed, we couldn't go. It was a different scenario for Maria, the mother of a five month child, she was in need of some baby items but couldn't get them from the Walgreens off Witton Road and Macon Road. The store had a closed sign even though the lights were on upsetting. I mean, I'm almost out of diapers and there's not really many places that are open. So I was going to come here and you know, grab some and their clothes. The highest peak for power outages here for mog impacted nearly 23,000 of its customers. The company's CEO Doug mcgowan says wind gusts and torrential rain will cause outages to fluctuate. He says one of their biggest goals have crews address tree trimming to keep the number of outages down while we trim back 10 to 15 ft from the power lines, depending on the kind of power lines. If you have a 70 ft tree that's 20 ft from those power lines. If it comes down, it's going to take power out. Mlgw says they have 50 crews ready for damage assessment to help restore power. And over 100 and 33 100 and 30 tree chairman crews to help clear debris live in Raleigh. I'm Desmond Nugent
