action featuring the visiting wiscons Rapids Lincoln Red Raiders and the home Auberndale Eagles team a alongside Braden Sutter here tonight from alberdale it is a somewhat packed gym for a Thursday night here the final week before school starts as uh it's been quite a it's been a nice little tradition per se an early season matchup these two teams have played the last number of years Scots these events we love to do it we love to know the community and the other businesses within the community it's it's rewarding to see smiling faces the kids event when you bring them Pizza there's not just one winner there's multiple winners cheese pizza is one of the coolest things that these kids love and just seeing The Smiling Faces is [Music] outstanding probably the funnest event that we do is what we see behind me here is our coloring contest the local kids it's a fun event we do a lot of fun stuff with it on our Facebook page the vot goes nuts cuz it's community that votes for it and at the end there's a lot of participation so that's best EV we had Thursday Grill outs we did that we were raising money for the Rome K9 division uh we set up in mid June to have Grill outs each and every Thursday all the way through till the middle of August numerous amount of golf outings where we raise money specifically for that event um through our whole sponsorships and games that we play my employees right now are all very active and participating in literally hundreds of events over the last 2 years that make key Savings Bank a part of this community we think that's very important in the all right ready good all right welcome back to auale high school what good all right welcome back to auale high school as the Wisconsin Rapids Red Raiders pick up a big non-conference win here tonight coach after you dropped that first match um girls a little flat footed at at the start but came back and won the next three just talk about the resilience here tonight yeah they were incredible I mean we switched up our lineup and that really helped a lot and they've been focusing on playing smart volleyball and they did they utilized their hitters really like really wisely I'm really proud of them it it's been it's been a couple years since Wisconsin rapis has beaten alberdale a much bigger School losing to a small school isn't always fun girls came in here in a pretty good environment and got the win just talk about uh getting a good win tonight yeah I mean like I think the key to the good win was we have some really awesome tall hitters and we're utilizing them well and like yeah I mean that's we're we're playing smart for once I love it you guys had a a Invitational at spash on Tuesday split split over there come to or come to Auburn Hill get a win three and two on the year just talk about what you've liked so far yeah I mean our goal for this year was to come out and play better than last year and we were 1 in 26 last year I think and to already start the season off with a better record than last year was the biggest for us and I think that's feeding our energy perfect thank you coach congratulations see you down the road bringing our zesti sports players of the game Ryland whitrock and Dan Rosenthal Ryland we'll start with you coming into this onto this team um and making an impact early in your career just talk about uh getting off to a good start this this year uh yeah I think we did really good as a team and we work really good together and we well it's my first game so I don't really know how we play as a team but I think it was pretty good all together and and having senior leadership helping you out on the court uh working through all this stuff how much does a player like Danica help you out there uh she helps me out a lot um I don't know what I would do without the older people on my team cuz they really like bring me up and help me on the court perfect we we'll don't go too far we'll bring in Danica and then we'll okay so you guys switch spots here bring in Danica Rosenthal Danica like I talked to Coach about it's been a it's been a rough couple years for Wisconsin Rapids volleyball starting 3 and two this year uh and getting off to a nice start just talk about uh the start you guys have had it feels really good I mean I'm a junior and we haven't come off with many wins my previous years and it just feels good cuz cuz I've been with the same group of girls my entire High School career and having really good freshman come in it just feels really good to be back on the court yeah absolutely and talk about the difference maybe from last year to this year energy you guys have won or winning sets winning games just talk about uh the difference maybe from last year to this year it's beyond what I can explain like all these girls just impact one another so much like everything they say helps one another like there's no negativity like we all just bring each other up all the time Perfect all right we're
