for the Jazz season just came from Mr ma picking up some new suits cuz I lost all this weight I'm down to a 442 they've had to H everything yeah yeah no he doesn't him he gets new oh reild I get I get new yeah yeah yeah he's not going to hope to you guys too I mean you guys like you're a different person it's like when you guys need your new suits man you let me know I've been to I've been to Mr Mack a lot um there's only so much I mean you can take in the suit taking the suit you need brand new suits suit yeah yeah little Max's taking care of me Scotty Scotty lost the whole body he did he looks good he went hey he went from this the a body and now he's up to the do coach I'm gonna I'm gonna tell you a little secret coach Vicky called Scott Alma and me and said we're putting you on the coach Mack diet so so that doesn't feel left out no sugar no sugar sugar yeah no sugars man hey I tell you what it's it's interesting when I go to dinner with Grandma because if somebody puts something on my plate that I'm not she just picks up it throws it away say you can't eat embarrassing when you there's a lot of people sitting around like there's eight of us sitting around the table and she just comes over yeah he can't eat that I used to being the boss and calling the shop I don't think you ever called the shots in that family did you I'm talking about on the football field right oh yeah you reach you they got the Bread Basket you reach in for a piece of bread and she's like NOP no no no no I said but I like that bread too bad you're in a fancy banquet yeah somebody's dropping off a piece of cake yeah and it's getting taken right out front of you yeah they had this deal they getting ready for the cake deal and ice cream yeah and she goes right there I said it's your old birthday sh her head no I said it looks really good she said no Pur lips not happening yeah well you look good coach yeah you look good Al how much you down I'm probably down 30 lbs I'm like you know I'm just around 200 lb I played it about 210 215 my goal was just to get there yeah and then then I just ended up dropping a few more pounds and I wasn't paying attention I wasn't getting on the scale and I jumped on the scale like 19 oh my gosh I like this is that's the 200 Mark yeah that's alarming crazy crazy on the 200 that's the alarming yeah I hadn't seen that since I was in high school hey hey he's he's try that's because he's got this your wife that's you know gorgeous gge gorgeous say smoking hot and so and so what she said hey I can't be hanging around with some fat dud and and she said otherwise you know you're gone and he said well I think I'll shape it up I'll shape it up don't worry you got one of two options be lonely or tighten it up or tighten it up yeah they said and don't I look good honey and and she says you're looking better like like yeah yeah not looking good you're looking better right yeah right keep that motivation going on the beach like no more muffin tops that's right well I I tell you what man there's there's a lot to look good about the University of Utah because they uh they're the real deal coach they're very good I tell you what uh very impressive you know the the I watched it over this morning you know just the the highlights and stuff but defensively Gap Gap Integrity you know where they're supposed to be tackling you know I thought was really good they gave up what 150 some yards of total offense uh I thought it was very good basically uh Southern Utah had one one one small drive at the beginning uh and then cam looked really good and they they continued to get mismatches on coverage you know because they were they were blitzing the one backer all the time which means they got one less guy in coverage and so they were getting some just just easy shots oh yeah and and the thing about cam he knows exactly where to go with the football you know but he knows pre- snap what he's doing with the ball he sure does and and he has it out and um very impressed the tight ends are good the receivers are good I don't know how they're going to keep all four of those running backs happy because I don't know which you know they they substituted a lot uh but it was actually you know extremely clean I think that when they put the Wilson kit in uh I think he just has to get used to the speed of the game he will CU he made some some some mistakes you know just rookie mistakes right yeah exactly but you know it was good he got you know he got two two and a half two and a third quarters of of reps you know so he got game experience but the thing I was most impressed with with their special teams cuz I thought their coverage team you know they get a mismatch by alignment so they align and then they come back in so you have to count and so there was a lot of guys that that weren't account for it they were they had continually had field position on on kickoffs um return game was really good uh their their punt coverage you know was excellent I mean I thought the Special Teams I thought was very good because of the lane integrity and the coverage and the ability of the players so so yeah overall it was it was a nice performance I don't know that you could have a first game go better like if you were going to script it right you know the things that you would want to see obviously to get get um you know cam out there and and hadn't played in in over a year and have him get a chance to get comfortable which happened instantaneously right um and then to be able to get your backups in and get get them some playing time and then your defense you know looking as good as they looked and and I you know just from first glance watching that game it's like man this team is deep because you know you're going your your twos your threes and they're coming in and they look fantastic like man this guy could be a starter and to have that kind of depth and strength um you know just about every position so they then they got Baylor this week so then we'll see you know what the what the real deal because Baylor will be a physical football team you know Dave Rand is trying to save his job well Dave Randa is a a good really good defensive coach and and uh so he'll he'll defense this this uh Utah team very well because he's very smart guy uh kind of understated you know not a real vocal guy but very smart defensive football coach uhma I wanted to throw this at you because Scotty and I were talking about running backs coach just talked about not having enough carries for potentially you know three four guys that you're trying to hand it to what did you think of the running game for Utah what can what can we expect from it and I I think the first game you're going to you know give guys opportunities to get out there and see what they can do but typically at the University of Utah most schools but the University of Utah in particular um one guy is going to arise to the top and will end up being your your Bell cow guy and and I think that's always the the preference is that that you're able to do that so I think you you might have four or five guys and that's always you know a nice thing to have that that type of depth at that position but you eventually want to have a guy that's going to be your 20 carries but they don't they don't have that guy yeah is he on the roster though coach no you don't think they okay you think Matthews could be that guy or not Matthews um Mitchell sorry yeah well Mitchell's the strongest guy downhill you know of breaking through creases uh the best leader is the guy that's been there for four years yeah M ber and he's he's a great leader the players really follow him and then so all four of those guys are good players and one guy is the one Stanley I guess it is yeah yeah is probably the fastest of the group okay but he's also probably the lightest of the group and then Mitchell's probably the best downhill guy the smartest guy is is obvious obviously Bernard and so what you've got is you can't combine them all into one player yeah and so I know I think you know that they won't have a Bela guy and that they'll continue to see a lot of Mitchell and ber Bernard kind of sharing it yeah I think Mitchell can be the guy yeah well Mitchell Mitchell is they you know here's kind of the read on him okay he hits cree's well and he's strong but he's a little bit blind too in other words he doesn't he doesn't have a feel he's not seeing seams is that are you born with that I mean he He Turned I mean he's he just you know he's a youngster well the great the the great running backs you don't teach them anything they they just have it instinctively you know uh so but all those guys are are really good players is there a separation if depends on what I guess what you're looking for and probably Mitchell's probably the strongest downhill guy Stanley's probably the fastest Bernard's the smartest you know so what you got is you got and and so with that combination coach are you are you worried about it well the only thing that worried me is just just okay is there going to be a guy that you're going to depend on to carry the load but I I think you know you're going to see Utah a little more leaning on the passing game than they have in the past because of the quality of the wide receivers and the quality of the tight ends and so it's uh you know you look at the balance they had what 187 yards rushing and three something throwing right and the game was over in the second quarter you know and and and cam made it look easy because he got all the mismatches so so yeah we we'll uh we will see when we go forward you well yeah I think that Baylor game is going to be a really good litmus test for this team for sure I think Scotty to your point you know the question you're asking you know can you develop some of that or is it just inate I think I agree with Coach to a large degree your great running backs are born with it they have you know they have great peripheral vision but they also have great instincts they have like this feel they can feel pressure and they can they they understand where the seam is going to open before it opens and I think there's some of that that you can watch enough film to to be able to start to predict okay I've seen enough that I understand okay this is where that play is going to develop but so much of it is just innate it's just you're born with it and and that's why you know the greats like a Walter pton um you know there's very few of those guys because he had that and the extreme level and you no matter what the you know the how talented the kid is coming in there's only so much development you can do and you can still improve the player you can absolutely develop him but at the same time if they don't have that that innate that Natural Instinct for feeling pressure then then there's probably not a whole lot you can do to to instill that so you're looking that's why you when when you're recruiting uh I think you know as I watch Young Players I'm like okay this guy's got that you know J say quad this this you know this this part of his game that you can't teach and but those those things are Rarities you know there's there's a lot of great guys and you get to the college level then it becomes a whole different game because you might have be the best runner um you know in your state or in your conference or whatever coming out of high school and then you come into a a program where you're not going to see the field if you can't Blitz pickup if you can't re defense yeah so all those things have to come together and that's why it's it's rare that you see young players get a whole lot of time LJ Martin last year was a little bit of an exception for BYU because as a a true freshman that it took some time for them to feel comfortable and confident okay we can put him in and he's going to be able to read the defense and pick up you know the Blitz and no one to stay in and no one to to to to release um but that doesn't happen very often for a true freshman to get in there and have extended playing time because for the first you know several games that that kid is a liability on the field regardless of how well he runs the ball so it it that takes time coach we talk about KY Whittingham and his Persona is run the ball and did lgz run the ball so you said this may be a bit more pass happy team how hard is it to go against what you are what your genetic football makeup is well first of all they've they've recruited some great wide receivers I mean you take a look at those dude that dude from Syracuse man yeah I tell you what he is and the I mean he's a greatl looking kid I mean you couldn't ask for if your diagram to White out you couldn't ask for a better looking guy and plus the guy can run and then so they got they're going to get and their tight end they got four tight ends that can play and obviously Kefi you know is special but they got a couple other guys that are special so so they've they've got a lot of answers to the puzzle and um it's kind of fun when you see a 14 Personnel out there yeah yeah well you know what so when when Andy was a coordinator at at Wisconsin they used a lot of three tight end stuff yeah because they had they grow tight ends on trees out there yeah so they had they had three three guys three legit guys when he was there and so they utilized all those guys to get mismatches and they didn't have a quarterback that could throw the ball so they but they had two tailbacks that were out of sight you know so they they used get all their mismatches with their tight ends and then U so well you you got your first chance to see Caleb loner at 6'8 and 245 lbs what did you think which guy Caleb loner yeah the tight end he caught that 20 yard touchdown pass B loner is a special guy okay because the guy can run he can jump he's athletic and he's tough you know and he has good hand eyed coordination because of basketball so so he's the he's the real deal he's a nasty kid he's not a nice kid you know in other words he he has a little you know he's a little detached upstairs well I think that was the big question because you know we you know you knew the skill was there but you didn't know if the anger and the violence was there but it's there yeah he's he's a he's a basically a uh on the on the field not a nice person you good that's a that's that's really good news he needs to be a little tilted I think he is a little tilted yeah Scotty and I took him as the second leading tight end uh in terms of yardage I and and it proved out in game one I don't know if it'll prove out through the season but yeah they've got four of those guys that are pretty good looking pretty good looking guys you know man and U you know you got the UCLA transfer you got I mean you got a lot of really good players that uh that can certainly do the job it is a football Friday right here on 975 the ekl Sports Zone this is this is DJ and PK joined right now by riy Jensen college football expert if you were offered the Utes or the field in the Big 12 who would you take I would take the Utes I think they have a tough one right away at Oklahoma State and this could be perception I know that the Big 12 is a step up clearly from the Mountain West or from any of the group of five conferences but it's not a step up from the Pack 12 and the way that the University of Utah plays is not typical Pack 12 football this is power football the Pack 12 the Big 12 I don't get the impression that they're the real physical teams and I think there's going to be teams in this conference that really have some difficulty with the power the defense and the physicality of the University Utah football catch DJ and PK mornings from 6: to 10 on 975 the KSL Sports Zone your home for the best college football coverage in Utah is on the KSL Sports s it's a season opening home game for the agies as they welcome Robert Morris to Maverick Stadium your home for all the play-by-play coverage of Aggie football ball is right here on 975 the KSL Sports Zone this is H sson and Scotty G presented by Mountainland Supply on 975 the KSL Sports Zone handson Scotty it's a football Friday right here on 975 the KSL Sports Zone Scott Gerard Hans Olen but more importantly almma Harrington and the legend Coach Ron McBride as we do it every Friday kicking off the first football Fridays of the year man it's good to see your face yeah it's good to see you guys yeah did you have a good offseason coach what you you were all over the both of you were all over the country I got the is all over the world man Scotty and I sit here in in little Utah and we watch you guys travel the Earth and then we talk about it on a yeah as we watch you there's a Lemma in the pyramids oh there's a Lemma in Paris oh there's aemma in Rome oh Alma's riding a camel oh Alma's riding a rhino ohma riding the back of a gorilla oh my gosh Alma is having such great exploit actually this this this summer we did not travel um anything anywhere exotic because this was and we we were kind of feeling this and you've been through this already uh hands where your kids get to that age that now everything is sports right my boys are football basketball and track s right and you got two the same age that are out there Ro yeah right so they're 360 days apart so you know that ain't cheap our biggest trip this this summer was we went to uh Texas A&M for Junior Olympics for Gabriel cuz he was ran the 100 the 400 and the long jump qualified for Junior Olympics and we went to Texas A&M and then Isaac are our 11-year-old he was in Vegas in the basketball tournament so we went first to Texas A&M uh with Gabriel and then flew from A&M to Vegas for them to play in this basketball tournament that was kind of our big trip of the year but I we're we're kind of at that age now where everything all all of our vacations will be centered around the kids incorporating Sports into vacation hey that's hey that's it's a good life that's way that's the way it's supposed to be and those entrance fees are going to be about the same as a trip to Barcelona how true is that hey hey hey my kid my kid plays on the Travel team good luck it's like saying I'm taking an extra lean on the home that's right you going to take a second mortgage to to afford the travel team and you've been chasing grandkids all over the country Co yeah you busy yeah yeah the the the two the two great grandkids you know are playing their their baseball right now you know so so they're doing they're doing good they got they got sliding gloves they got they they got the eye makeup you know great great grandkids while you're in your 60s that's impressive coach where a CO coach Yeah well yeah yeah and then I'm having another great grandkids coming up soon oh nice yeah so I'm doing good we're just keep moving the keep moving the dial right well that's good for you coach coach you and I were uh we were listening to that colani cut oh yeah and uh Kanani's a little salty yeah so you know I was down there three practices of and one scrimmage okay so it looks like to me they were trying to push number three is to be their starter and and that was the scrimmage I went to and he probably took 70 60 at least 60% of the Reps but I couldn't tell you who the starting quarterback was because I didn't think he had a particularly good scrimmage it was if that that scrimmage was the defense looked very good you said the number three guyet no the number three number number three number three oh oh oh I thought you were talking about the Third no no quarterback like no number three the guy he's a transfer from ban B yeah it looked like that's a guy that they want to be the quarterback actually the guy I liked I think was number five and he took the least amount of reps the the short guy that transferred in there from yeah I he he looked really comfortable but I but he only got maybe seven eight reps I I'm looking at McKay going into to this I'm thinking that I I think that they would red shirt him if he they could yeah well and that was what they wanted to do in Logan too they wanted to red shirt him and uh then he was kind of forced into action when L got got kind of banged up a little bit and he looked good they were going to red shirt him this year too they you know because they forced him into action last year but he got the kid from Iowa so they're like hey sit back for a year watch and uh he's like no you know I think uh let me see what it's like let see what else is out there yeah uh what hey coach um you mentioned that you said the defense was playing well though that yeah that day who stood out to you well I thought I thought the front was really good because they they played really square and they really they ate up the blockers and they never got knocked out of their out of their gaps Al Lima that's good news yeah okay that's really good news and then the defensive both defensive ends played their responsibilities really well because their eyes were really good they never got out of out of sync they they played their Shuffle technique correctly they played the read the r read technique coming back correctly and their eyes were really good and so therefore the linebackers were were were pretty were pretty were pretty good because the D line played well and I think I I look at this as Jay Hill is saying man last year was rough right I don't know how how well he slept during off he might not have slept all during in offseason he's like we we got to come back and establish ourselves certainly against the run right that's got to be completely different all the things that you're pointing to coach are all good indicators that that that's going to change um and I don't know how much you you'd learn about after this week's game uh you know I was listening to uh some of the interviews that you guys did I know they got some you know some issues on the offensive line they they lose the their top rushers they got a quarter I don't you know who's going to be their quarterback you know that's a new situation going to rotate yeah so I my prediction is that BYU will be able to hold this team under 100 yards rushing and if they can in spite of of who your opponent is that's something you can build on yeah well H brought up a really good point a couple weeks ago and and this is spoton and this is going to hit close to home for you coach because these are your guys but but if you look at that coaching staff at BYU it is the who's who you got Jay Hill you got Kanani satake and then you throw Gary Anderson in the mix like if this team struggles defensively it's not because of coaching and they got Chad down there too they got Chad you know you got Kelly pinga I mean you got you got some dudes that have been around and know this game and Son Pua you know so they got so coach what what is your excuse if you can't stop the run that's what I've been telling Scotty it's like if if these guys can't then it's done I don't know what to do because because you know now last year maybe there was some slips through the cracks because you had sh and Kelly popinga that were really working collaborative lead with with what they were doing defensively and there were some things that slip through the cracks and you're playing some really good run teams but giving up 180 yards a game no way man and then they got this crew and then they got three three you know TJ's coaching the old line but he's got two guys that are helping him that are very good the one kid from from Utah state is his ga and then a kid from Oregon State who played at Oregon State uh is the other one and those guys uh they're they spent a lot of time on finish a lot of times on T on keeping the keeping the the combinations tight and and I would see a marked improvement probably in that area just like guys finishing uh finishing their their reps and finishing what they're doing well I'm just going to give you some heads up on my just the game Day broadcast everything I'm doing is Run Stop oriented and and I'm going to hammer it and I'm going to make it the object of everybody's eye and and if they can't keep it under 100 and if we see gaps open because of lateral movements where where defensive linemen aren't hunkering they're not settling they're not eating up the block they're not holding G which you saw a lot of that last year then I'm going to be really vocal about it because like Scotty they're not playing olly Gordon this week there's just yeah there's no excuses yeah so so my biggest concern with with them would be um who who's going to be the quarterback I I'm not overly impressed with the running backs at least the days that I were there where I where I say oh my God that's oh my Gody they jump off the page yeah but they're but did you see LJ at all when in any of those scrimmages that you were at LJ Martin did you see the the kid from last year the Freshman from last year he was because he was held out in so much of this now and you know it's been kind of cryptic you know the way that that they've been giving out the information on his health and so you know I don't know who you can rely on for correct information I think that that he's probably close to being 90% healthy yeah because we see him on film see right you see them now with the the you know the little that that is released from from BYU um and I really like LJ I was just you know talking last segment about a freshman running back to be able to get any time you've got to be pretty dog on good and not just a good Ball Carrier you got to you got to understand the you know all the concepts that that that go into the offense and and he got thrown into the fire because the injuries a little bit last year too you know the Aiden Robins injury and stuff like that but he's better for it now because of it you know so he's ahead of schedule from an education standpoint very very very much ahead so I don't you know I'm not as concerned if LJ Martin is healthy uh Alma give me your best quarterback guess I I think it's RL I really do I got everything that that's coming out now bannan I think is it because of the injury and not playing last year you know there there's a lot of question marks but I do think in a game like we'll see you know tomorrow that there's going to be an opportunity for bannan to get on the field now and for for him the question is will he be able to take advantage of that opportunity and will be enough and I might be completely wrong they might start banana tomorrow I don't know I but I think it's going to be redl just in part because he's been there for a year he's got some experience he played you know was a starter last year um and has maybe some some chemistry or better relationship with with the receivers and and the offense in general um but I'm I'm I'm anxious to see Bohanan in a game situation what he looks like and then will be enough separation between the two the the the worst thing for me personally I cannot stand not knowing who your quarterback is going in as a teammate and as a teammate right and then for us covering it too it's frustrating as well but as a teammate then you start to get factions and then especially if after tomorrow it's you don't come out of that game and say okay you know redl has earned the starting position okay bannan is going to be our guy where where as a teammate in the locker room where you really don't know who the starting quarterback I just I keep wondering how much does this team not know yeah how much does that o line or that receiving the the reports coming out of BYU right now right are that that the team knows who it is right Aon said some separ right they know who it is but they're not announcing that right so um I I still think I I just it's I think it's just it it's a kind of a tough place to operate from when you you can't get behind the guy yeah you know fan base included it's like oh yeah that's going to be our guy you know it's just it's it's frustrating and and it's hard to to to to feel 100% confident uh about your group take a break come back we're live here at RGS exteriors love for you to give them a call right now at RGS and let's get you squared away get those rain gutters looking good for the upcoming winter we'll talk to Tim about that coming up next we'll also get you ready again for uh the KSL Sport Zone out about today here at RGS Tim's hanging out with us we got coach McBride we got Alma Harrington we got you covered from top to bottom as we got uh all kinds of games coming up this weekend H hey can we do a sidebar for a second yeah what do you got I just want to talk about uh you know religion in the state of Utah let's go politics too while we're at well not really politics but the passing of Connie Colosso who was the mother to all the coloss Bo Who and the colossos are probably the most important family to the Catholic religion in the state of Utah and that that Mom uh did an incredible job with that family and uh she struggled for a while but she just passed away but uh what gayy has done out at Wan Diego to create an academic atmosphere what they've done at judge and so this this family has been so important to the Catholic religion and I just want to shout out to to what Connie what Connie's done with that family are they is that the family tied to the amazing sausage at links yes it is yeah then I think we should all take a moment because that family's done more than just great Catholicism oh they brought incredible ingredients to this state too Y and then and then the next thing is we need to get this eligibility thing straightened out in High School athletics oh it's bad oh it's bad so we've got uh let's say across the state so anybody who's who's not um US citizens basically they got to be born in the US if they're not born if they if they're not born in the US and even if they've been here they can't play they can't play sports if they're not born here correct if they're not born you can't come you can't come here it's it's really affected honestly let's be honest this was a Lon Christian judge and Ju Academy rule let's just call it Spade of space yeah yeah exactly mean when the 3-1 basketball titles that when the eligibility Chang this year how the kids can basically they get a free transfer but they set out half the season the other part of it is what coach Ma's talking about that that if you're not a US citizen or born and raised in the United States you cannot come here and play High School's football so Leighton Christian's entire football team is that way so they can play high school football but they're ineligible for postseason play yeah really so so for instance um you know I the rule came out because the the the down in St George whoever well it was wasach Academy originally down in Mount Pleasant was the original start but we're talking about the basketball in thing yeah well this is a this is all high school rule this all high school rule but it was was is basketball you know well and and let's be honest like coach ma said this rule was a basketball rule it's because last year Juan Diego judge and LCA in the three different classifications won state championships in basketball yeah so now and did they all have non-american born players leading 100% okay oh so so then it's like well that's not okay if our Utah kids aren't winning that's and you get a rule change that way is that what it is yeah sure but it's it's it's uh well that's that's rough um and and Alma here here no no throw that give give him your headset there yeah Alma I'm curious on this because if it's a non-american boy because Al limao is very well known for bringing players out of Simone islands and and bringing them getting them yeah getting them settled here and getting them going with football is is that preventing that well if yeah well if you're from American Samoa or you're part which is the US it's the US well that's fine but Western s more would probably be different and Tonga as well that's really Lon Christian Leon Christian's football team is that's where they are they're coming straight from and you were dealing with a lot of tahan kids yeah R Diego that that takes them out of is there any exceptions for non-american born well what no what happened is that you had a rule before I can't remember coach you might there's a form that that you the school could become to allow these kids to come and go to school here right and it was allowed well as of this year that the association voted no and so these kids can can no longer U come and play so so if you've been here let's say I played two years at Leighton Christian and and I'm from uh Tonga yeah from Tonga even if you got two years under your belt yeah you're you're ineligible wow yeah oh got to be a little bit of a grandfather clause there there needs that needs to be well so obviously they're fighting it you know but you know how these people work you know it's just they they just put it off put it off put it off and so these kids are all sitting around doing nothing really wasn't there another transfer rule that was implemented if I'm not mistaken it has to be a whole family move now in order to be eligible yes it's a whole family move it's a whole family move or they can transfer really a free transfer but you sit out half the season so football specifically they determined it was five games yeah five games so if you transfer this year you could transfer it was pretty much your guaranteed transfer but you're JV eligible only until the five games are you could move your kid to go live with your sister correct and and they could play junior varsity they can't play vars that's correct and not only this is another thing loaded JV teams out there that's true we have a few of those at Summit Academy because we have some kids waiting for those five weeks for that reason so we've got some Varity kids playing JV right now so but but the other thing too is now they've gone a step further athletic directors have to physically go to the to the transfers if they say it's a full family move the athletic directors have to go verify at the house I know for a fact that Bingham had three players that that that they had a family move the athletic director went saw that was not a family move the kids are no longer eligible so it's it's a step further the athletic directors have to go with it now wow so yeah it's it's um so we've got a lot of ineligible kids right now well across the state you know as far as far as the transfer is concerned we have gotten to a point where it is crazy right now and I understand the the reason or the the I think the the motivation to do something about it like it's got to it's high school is the purest form of football that is is around right and now you got 30 plus close to 40 States I think that have nil um in in high school um that that's going to permeate all of the the the high schools throughout the country um that changes the amateurism of of you know the the sport and then the transfer has just been crazy like I remember when it used to be extremely rare that somebody would transfer and you hear oh yeah this kid came and it was legitimately like the full whole family moved yeah now every every every game that we do and I do two High school games a week every game that we do it's like oh this kid came from Pleasant Grove or this you know this kid is from over here or you know played at U last year kasuga up at at Corner Canyon now so it it's just wild to me that there's that the transfers are that just that that they have permeated just every every school has transfers like it's it's you know we're calling the Utah State game tomorrow on TV and all of the trans transfers it's like a college thing at this point oh yeah right it's it's an unofficial transfer portal but it's ABS just it's as real as as any other level but but realistically uh lumma this has been going on for 20 years in state true and and and it was back in the day it was Skyline yeah and then it was Bingham and then it was Cottonwood did it for a little bit Cottonwood then it was East you know I mean just depends you know I mean East kind of had the market on on the transfers yeah and then all of a sudden the the e one of the East assistant coaches went to West so now west is is kind of a Powerhouse over on that side and then when limma got let go at Alta all those kids left and and went to West or they went to uh what's the other school down south here oh quter Canyon no not quter Canyon but Lone Peak or one or Sky I said well where's all where'd they go oh they're either at West or they're at Lone Peak or whatever and so um well the the other thing coach that P to's point is that the reason why they did this is I believe that the association had over 250 hearings last year and that's really what it boiled down to is they just couldn't logistically do these hearings anymore and so they had to just say hey we have to do something to stop this so that was it was I could be wrong on that but it's some crazy A crazy even even if it was 150 I tell you what that's just crazy yeah but it's a very uh you know in Hawaii they have the same thing because now Kahuku is again the hot team so everybody you go to kuku's practice where's that kid from wow he was over at at Milani but now he's at Kahuku where where did he come from well he came from from Texas or he came and all of a sudden they're load up and the the all those kids used to go to St Louis yeah but they're not going to St Louis anymore so nobody's going to puno yeah some no some of them went to puno tail I mean those guys and and there was and if you're a private school that's a whole different thing yeah you know that that's you know legit like you can you can end up at a private school no matter where you live on the island but when you're talking boundaries like I was having this conversation with Frank Dolce it's like you know there there was a time when boundaries meant something yeah and it was pure because you play with your guys yeah you grew up with them you know you conference all the way up and those were your guys all right we got to take a break we're way way behind schedule here Tim's hanging out with us with RGS exterior what kind of schedule we have we have zero schedule right now I blew that thing out of the water a long time what what is the schedule I got Lloyd sending me nasty text messages like get these guys on get them on the clock yeah hey hey I like Lloyd's in Char Lloyd what do you want these Lloyd what do you want these boys to do uh oh I want them to bring on Tim start and we're going to talk yes hey let's get some windows no no we're talking get gutters or Windows we'll deciding a gutter and look we we'll get it really short because obviously that but that's a passion of mine I think that's the reality of is I love being here I love being a high school football coach in fact you know as soon as we're here I'm bouncing I've got I got to get in hot to my my high school team I'm excited about that but really just call us we're here to help you with sighting A Gutters anything we can do to help make Utah's homes better look nicer take care of gutters so they don't have to clean the debris just whatever it is just give us a call and let's get them handled one thing you always talk about here too though and I think is really important is there's so many great financing options out there and and and if you want to do a really big extensive project you don't need to let the finances hold you back because you can manipulate things in a lot of different ways to make people get that dream home well and I'll just give you a number just to help home owners to understand more than half of our our dollar amounts that we do a year are financed so the majority of the jobs are finan is what I'm saying and so um that's just the reality today um it's it's the only way we can can do these projects a lot of times is get it done today because I always say that the cheapest the job's ever going to be is today it will never be as cheap as it is today it's it we don't have we don't have uh price decreases suppliers don't go hey you guys are having a tough time we're going to decrease your price it just doesn't happen we have increases and increases increases so the cheapest lever be is today so get it done today use those financing options it'll actually really save you money in the long run let's uh get that phone call made and let's get you uh somebody out from RGS so you can find exactly what you need done and get that bid and get that education and then you can move forward 80128 3110 that's 80128 3110 it's RGS exteriors right here on the zone
