Gravid female eastern garter snake in Hart County KY - 7 July 2024

okay uh first snake of the day A nice gravid Eastern garter snake um you know when you look for snakes everything has its own season and this is the season to see big fat gravid gerder snakes yeah this girl here should be dropping her babies sometime here in the month of July so it won't be too much longer but nice healthy looking snake um yeah typically see a fair amount of these this time of year uh always nice to see in fact I think this is probably my favorite garter snake from the Year good looking healthy animal looks like she's going to have a nice size litter of babies yeah these have live young and usually right about Midsummer it seems like most of the time I start seeing baby garter snakes usually usually during the month of July so it's uh it's right on Q yeah it's going to be a very warm day today uh right now it's still pretty nice um checking some artificial cover have a quick look at some of the Pastoral habitat here yeah you can see the sun over there anyhow we got some pictures of her in a quick video so time to let her go and look for some more snakes
