NOAA's hurricane outlook for 2024, tracking a feature in the Bahamas + sizzling heat headed our way.

all right with this was two Facebook live update I'm chief meteorologist Tony adolie hope you guys are having yourselves a good Thursday evening one more day to go before the weekend hits and it's going to be a a long holiday weekend for many of us actually some of you may be starting it tonight making a 4-day weekend and good for you why not right that is some good stuff right there all right we got a lot to talk about Noah came out with its uh predictions today and boy they are they are calling for a very active hurricane season they're uh highest number they they've ever released for a May update I'll have that for you Brian Bor Terry Lon we're keeping an eye on a feature north of the Dominican Republic headed towards the baham and we've got some blistering heat headed our way through the upcoming holiday weekend right through uh Memorial Day and Tuesday itself with maybe better rain chances by the middle of next week so without further Ado let's go ahead and uh take a look at what's going on in the tropics we'll begin there first remember nine days out now nine days out to the start of hurricane season folks and there's your little feature there now north of Hispanola little flare up of thunderstorms there across the Bahamas lifting up to the north Northeast uh or Northeast I should say so we'll continue to watch that Darlene Marie happy Thursday to you the flower Full Moon is tonight says Elizabeth hot you are indeed correct love the purple time says Bryant lots of nice compliments all right an organized surface trough bringing rain and some of that quite heavy through the Bahamas and Hispanola uh surface low is expected to develop here over the next day or two while lifting to the north could be a subtropical feature here we'll have to wait and see chill there you go there's your Kingston low your Windward Islands high in between very Shear down environment but you can see the waters here are at or slightly below normal so again the farther north this goes the less likely it's develop very warm water here but our tropical we has been sheared apart Dina andr off good to have you Phil wrath Jan Leonard's correct sharing is carrying the more people we can reach by you guys sharing these Facebook live feeds the more people we can put in the weather no so Noah came out with their forecast today 17 to 25 name storm 17 to 25 um hurricanes 813 and major hurricanes 4 to S so uh forecast that high begs the question what's the chance of above normal season 85% likelihood busy yes it is Lulu correct good evening to you Nancy Cruz uh 10% chance for a near normal and a only 5% for a below a normal season uh Crystal rer good to have you in here Elizabeth H I would love to of Joey why so active there you go linia forming during the peak of every game season linia less wind shear higher storm formation extremely warmer than normal Waters across the Tropical Atlantic we talked about the main development region that is the MDR backside severe weather on the front side active weather there west of Dallas south and east of Dallas snow in Montana Wyoming Idaho up towards Southwest Canada speaking of snow begs a question what does that map look like here you go plenty of snow plenty of snow out west big time snow in fact up there in Montana Wyoming and and Idaho uh temperatures in that area quite chilly all had snow you
