an opening night win they have knocked off the number 10 Florida State seminal 28-13 I failed in in preparing the team to to be able to go out and respond tonight I mean that was extremely disappointing that we're not better they up 267 yards rushing to Boston College tonight that is a major concern as the season moves forward did you hear anybody say yeah Boston College could be you're surprised they made it this far you only mean the Jets let's be honest oh there's another team in there I'm the Dolphins yeah it's the dolphins dolphins but South Florida Miami's got a good history Dan Marino Mike McDaniel's a good person to have on your side last time I checked it was the quarterback driven league and two is the quarterback he got paid you got paid is that a good thing he led the league a lot of categories last year is that a good thing TBD all right TBD they did what I said they gave Mike McDaniel that cont they had to do that but so for those who are not watching on television Dolphins Niners Bears Packers Bengals Jets though that's where we're going to narrow it down well Small's going to narrow down not CC and I at some point during the course of today we're State last night Florida State now 0 and2 for the third time in five years under current head coach Mike norell and CC mentioned it this weekend was a disaster for some college football teams already and it's weird to think after one weekend you could look around college football and say this guy's in trouble that guy's in trouble and it's Justified like look at Billy Napier the University Florida Miami crushed them cam Ward I've never seen a quarterback look more nonchalant and relaxed than cam Ward does from Miami he's great but he looks like he's not even trying it's it's very interesting watching that guy Mario Chris balls put together a great team there Billy Napier is 11 and 15 six- seven 5- seven now 0 and one Dan Mullen was a guest here on on Sportsman like with Courtney and Keith yesterday was better than him and he got fired in the same amount of years Brian Kelly loses the other day slams his fist down he's 20 and8 overall at LSU that's not good enough for that program and then it feels like Dabo here's my prediction for Dabo I'm GNA tell cce's giving me a look I think dbo Sweeney is in his last year at Clemson I think it'll be announced in season and he'll finish out the year I think the pressure is going to get so great on Dabo that they will come to this agreement together this will be it he'll finish out the year and move on but why would they announce it in season because I think pressure is going to get out of control he has not had one transfer ever since 2018 since all the transfer stuff has started start firm think about that not one not one transfer so that means you're relying on I'm going to get every single high school recruit right because I once did and if I get it wrong I'm not going to give myself an opportunity to make up for it that doesn't work in 2024 college football am I that nuts on anything that we just discuss I'm not saying Napier and Kelly Dabo I could see in his final year wouldn't surprise oh n Napier and and Mike Norvell I don't I don't know if those putting norell in there too yeah I don't know if they make it to November wow like now the Dao Sweeney of it all like I I hear what you're talking about but I mean the guys had a Dozen Years where he's had double digit win seasons and last year was the first time in a long time where he didn't he still had nine wins and he's won two national championships I don't know that they're going to move off of Dabo but it reminds me a lot of what we saw with Coach K at Duke basketball ball when the whole oneandone phenomenon made it impossible to compete unless you had one of those guys and then all of a sudden we saw Mike sheski pivot and decide to incorporate oneandone players into the program and then he's back to winning national championships it feels like that's the direction that Dabo is going to have to go in order for this team to be on par with the upper echelon programs in college football and make no mistake about it ipte the boosters down there at Clemson they fully expect that they are going to be in the mix with schools like Georgia with schools like Ohio state with programs like Michigan now what it looks like with USC and Texas being back on the map they expect to be in that ether they expect to be in the college football playoff and for their season to get started the way that they did when Georgia is clearly the standard the bar to clear and you're so far away from that I think the pressure on dbo won't be about his job security but it will be about his program making a a shift in their philosophy when it comes to the transfer portal but he seems resistant to make that shift philosophy which is why I could see it being the end of the road for him at that program yes he's won two national titles but the last one was win 2018 and we've seen the evolution of college football in 2018 that's when the transf for pro a guy here yes in so many ways and it's evolve or die and he has been kicking and screaming very reluctant to adapt and you're seeing that it's it's causing huge problems with the product that Clemson you're right Georgia is the standard that's the measuring stick for most programs in college football and for Clemson to have that ugly of a loss and be compounded with Dao not being willing to adapt to today's college football I don't know how it gets better from here unless he does adapt but why would we assume that he would do that based on comments that he's made because fear does the work of reason and he's talking about how the transfer portal makes it hard to maintain the continuity in your culture you know what makes it hard to maintain continuity in your culture losing being irrelevant and that's where Clemson is when it comes to comp for national titles and so I I mean if you look at the way of the world now if this doesn't work out for dbo in Clemson if they decide that they are going to transition away from him what exactly is dbo gonna do like who like who's who's out who's out here ready to run up and hire a coach that won't go into the transfer portal in today's college football I'll tell you who a program that's irrelevant right now and for a coach that's won multiple national titles I can't imagine that that's going to be a very appealing proposition so I do think we'll see Dabo pivot I mean the reality is you have to get involved in the portal I heard this stat during the game on Saturday and I absolutely couldn't believe it of course Dabo has no stars from any person in the transfer portal and he's one of what four or five programs including the service and we know they can't have they can't have transfers so like you have to do it 32% of the starts in FBS last football season came from players that had transferred if you don't have transfers you're not going to be able to compete for the college football playoff it's as simple as that and and that's why to me this weekend of all of the takeaways that we have the biggest one is the state of affairs with the Clemson Tigers football program and dabos swey having to change his philosophy in order to get Clemson back one other quick thing shout out to Bill O'Brien his first game last night for BC beating Florida State after Florida State loses in in week one yet another example if you want a belich assistant hire him just in college bich assistants are very good in college just not the NFL well maybe maybe davo Sweeney is is looking at dju and saying that's why I don't go into the transfer portal DJ DJ y he had him at Clemson he transferred to Oregon State now
