Star Wars Outlaws is receiving slightly above average ratings, but critics and players are underwhelmed, considering it a mediocre and overpriced game. [Music] hey guys welcome back to clownish TV this is neon I'm not here with geeky Sparkles we're going to talk about Star Wars Outlaws that new Star Wars game that a lot of people have been dunking on for the last couple months now because the uh uh the lead female character they're calling her ma'am solo cuz she has a very manly uh manly jawline yeah so the game is is uh getting reviewed now uh apparently journalists are are having a go at it and it's not going very well uh the game is actually getting pretty yeah slightly above average ratings a lot of people uh not thinking this is the best game ever it is a Star Wars game it's it's a current year Star Wars game it's a massively overpriced Star Wars game and look if you're into uh Disney Star Wars and your expectations aren't that high it sounds like it's it's not bad but uh yeah it's not it's not going very well for them not this is definitely not going to be Game of the Year let's put it that way so before we get into it any further Please Subscribe for more pop culture news views and rants guys uh yeah so Jason shrier from Bloomberg he said the review codes for Star Wars Outlaws received mostly negative reviews from critics, with many attributing the poor reception to the game's short review embargo period. Star Wars Outlaws went out last Monday with an embargo for this morning got to wonder how that impacted the reception it boggles the mind that the company would spend four plus years and God knows how many millions of dollars on a game only to give reviewers 6 days for whatever it's worth I've been playing it and enjoying it but I'm only a few hours in if I had uh to Marathon it over a week I'd probably hate it so he's saying that he thinks that uh part of the uh the negativity around this game with reviewers is is because of the uh late review embargo right that that they're only getting a week to play it but so far black myth Wukong is doing better than it is black uh black myth Wukong on Metacritic has an 81 generally favorable whereas Star Wars Outlaws is is not doing well including IGN uh including the gamer including comicbook.com they're not really giving it uh Euro gamer only gave it a 40 damn uh so some sites did give it a good review I need to point point that out Washington Post 75 um yeah but but to have IGN give it a seven to have the gamer give it 70% comic book 70 that's that's not a good indicator that this game is going to be any good right let's see I gota look at this Euro gamer I gota look at this Euro gamer review Star Wars Outlaws review stripped back Ubisoft formula is admirable yet doomed death by a thousand huts sounds like something your boy Zach would would come up with death by a thousand Huts it just sounds like it's Star Wars Outlaws is a midling AAA title with an underdeveloped protagonist and a failed attempt to add complexity to the Star Wars universe. just another like midling AAA title uh you beyond the um the female character ma'am solo whatever they're calling her right beyond that there's nothing about this game that looks remarkable to me I mean from what I've seen of it is like we've seen this a thousand times before with other franchises I'm actually getting kind of I was getting kind of uh just cause Vibes off of this one like uh just cause Star Wars edition but two out of five stars if nothing else I had a wonderful time playing saach all right so this is a this is a pointed criticism there there are a lot of criticisms uh in his review but this this is he's actually pointing out the main characters a k VES is an unchanging character she is as unchanging a character as I can ever remember played by is it Humber humberly Gonzalez K begins as a scrappy Underdog Who projects Cockiness and continues at that exact uh throughout unimpacted by the people she meets the events of the story or anything else her desires are unclear to the point of parody and almost plot point right toward the very end with her entire motivation being to get rid of the death Mark put on her by a brush with a Crim Lord At the beginning and maybe to bag a big score that literally is ma'am solo yeah except Han Solo's character did evolve throughout the course of the original trilogy but yeah it just sounds like she is an empty vessel why do she want to lay on the score so badly what does she value or care about nothing why is she so cynical far too much Disney era Star Wars finds itself equivocating between the rebels in the empire in search of complexity in Gray areas in the era of anti-heroes and Prestige TV um yeah just it's not it's not the greatest thing ever guys I'm I'm sorry that being said uh you know it's Star Wars Outlaws receives poor reviews due to performance issues and mediocre gameplay amidst Ubisoft's controversies. probably not the worst game ever it's a game it's Ubisoft game What's going to be interesting to see is are people going to withhold their dollars to protest Ubisoft because of uh you know some of the other stuff going on the uh you know Assassin's Creed debacle which is a massive massive uh Fu to the people of Japan on so many levels you know it's just like they kept doubling down on this now they're just kind of hoping this going to cool off but uh it just doesn't look remarkable and look I'm I'm going to tell you I am biased because there's nothing Disney Star Wars I'm really interested in uh Jedi Survivor was pretty good but it's not something I would I would spend a lot of time playing but yeah she literally is is ma'am solo uh grms put this up you guys see the Star Wars Outlaws takedown you thought you saw them but you didn't see the launch version people say is actually worse at launch they thought was going to be they said Star Wars Outlaws drops to 20 to 30 frames a second on a 4090 and Ultra HD with dlss enabled F this [ __ ] game Who optimized it an effing monkey speaking of monkeys uh Wukong uh is is selling pretty well black myth um just saying uh yeah this is a Star Wars Outlaws Benchmark to follow it so the images in the gallery were taken on a GeForce RTX 490 manually optimized an Ultra HD with all the details and effects as well as dlss quality if you think the frame rate is beyond reproach um 20 to 30 frames a second damn I think the PC term is a DI higher for all species or equal initiative wow I don't know guys I don't think it's going to go very well for them now what happens in A poorly received Star Wars game could damage the franchise's reputation and lead to Disney outsourcing its games, similar to Warner Brothers' situation with the failed Suicide Squad game. this scenario what happens if the game is a massive Financial failure it's not doing well critically not as well as it could be doing what if it's a massive f cial failure we're going to be looking at another situation like suicide squad right um where that cost Warner Brothers $200 million and it's so bad that they are actually talking about Outsourcing all their video games now because they don't want to eat the cost now in this case Disney is outsourcing their games to different companies whoever will have them at you know EA or Ubisoft or whatever um but Star Wars is damaged goods so even if the game was fantastic I don't know how you know how it's going to sell because a lot of people are just going to look at and be like yeah Star Wars but that being said if you're if you're going to put out a Star Wars game set in the Disney Star Wars timeline it better damn well be the best effing game you can put out not just a quick cash grab I think they're rushing this one out to Star Wars Outlaws is being rushed to market despite poor reviews and high pricing, failing to meet gamer expectations. get it out in time for the holidays Q4 to get as much money on the books as they can so they don't have to lay more people off because I don't think assassin's Creed Shadows is going to do very well that comes out in what November and a lot of people angry about that game for a lot of reasons and even if it sells okay you have to realize you know you have to realize these games cost hundreds of millions of dollars to make and they have to sell better than just okay and we're seeing triaa titles like conquered what a couple thousand players at Peak I mean it people are not buying these games they're just not and uh you know again I mean this this could wind up being a fantastic uh fantastic seller for them but that's not that's not really a vote of confidence meanwhile black myth Wukong is selling incredibly well the reviews are better than Star Wars Outlaws and uh Star Wars Outlaws is you know beyond the quality issues it starts at $70 the gold standard edition is $70 Gold Edition is $109.99 the ultimate edition is $129.99 or you can subscribe to it you can subscribe to it for $18 a month I mean who the hell who the hell cares that's so funny this is one of the um the pool quotes here hyped for outlaws IGN they gave it a seven and uh I think in their review I was reading that they actually gave they actually gave uh black myth Wukong a better score and again I'm not sitting here you know standing for the CCP or anything I'm just pointing out that Gamers don't really ask for a lot right they just want the games to be competent and they don't want the games to have a lot of political messaging and if you're going to hype this one up and you're going to go to war with Gamers over it it better be the best damn game possible Star Wars Outlaws receives mixed reviews, with critics praising its fun adventure but criticizing its simple stealth, repetitive combat, and numerous bugs at launch. that's all I'm saying it doesn't sound like it is so I'm going to keep an eye on this see where we're at with it um yeah IGN they're they're it's it wasn't glowing they said it's a fun intergalactic Adventure but it's hindered by simple stealth repetitive combat and too many bugs at launch man gums is just like dominating the uh Outlaws news here this is crazy yeah Screen Rants uh Screen Rants Star Wars Outlaws review of four they gave Blackmouth Wukong three L because it lacked lacked inclusivity and diversity but uh they think that yeah Outlaws is fantastic um I I don't know guys we'll see we'll see what happens with this one uh I think a lot of people are going to be watching uh Ubisoft with great interest a lot of people saying it's buggy uh commi here says Star Wars Outlaw needs a few patches to deal with bugginess hard to do stealth when stuff like this happens like what the hell is going on here um games radar says it captures the feel the franchise better than anything before maybe it maybe it's okay Star Wars out was the return of the chin they freaking expanded that jaw into the Galaxy and yeah you know remember that Euro gamer review said that her character is not fleshed out very much so are some people going to care I mean if she is just uh you know your uh you know player character uh does anybody care you know what her personality is I don't know um yeah so I'm not sure I'm not sure how The game's decent quality may not be enough to overcome the negativity towards Ubisoft, potentially hurting its sales despite possible strong initial numbers. this one's going to do I'm going to be honest I don't care uh one way or the other I think it's it I think even if the quality of this game is decent I think the negativity toward Ubisoft from a lot of Gamers is definitely going to uh hurt their sales and it might sell well but not well enough that's all I'm saying that's all I'm saying here but I have no interest in it
