A New Cheap Live TV Streaming Service is Coming to Take on Frndly TV & Philo

Intro welcome back to cord cutting today where we break down some of the biggest stories happening in the world of cord cutting including today a new cheap live TV service that will give you locals plus a bunch of entertainment um content but no uh Sports this seems to be a service looking to compete with Pho and friendly TV there's a big catch though especially when it comes to the locals we'll tell you what it is and more in a second fubo is raising the price in some of its packages actually kind of relaunching them as different packages for new customers only again let me said new customers only not impacting existing we'll tell you what's happening what those changes are in a second they're also launching a new bare Knuckles fighting Channel these stories and a whole lot more both that's YouTube know you enjoy what we do here we post videos like this every Monday through Friday all right let's dive into Live TV Streaming Service it starting off with Tableau it's reportedly working on a live TV streaming service that'll be similar to Pho and friendly TV but it will take the locals from your antenna and bundle them into your streaming service with this now about a year ago Tapo launched a new DVR that um works with your antenna but it also has free streaming of a bunch of different free content streaming right alongside your tenna now they are reportedly um they being their parent company ew scripts um in talks with a bunch of small cable TV and PID TV providers in general to bundle this as a cheap small streaming service that'll be an entertainment focused package of channels without Sports and you'll be able to get your locals through the antenna cable providers reportedly um interested in this as a way to try to keep some paid TV customers some of these are really getting hit hard I think we saw one provider in in Alaska shut down it said like 10% of their customers or maybe it was 20 something like that that was all that was still using their TV service everybody else was an Internet only customer so they said why are we paying for TV I would suspect that this would um be also available outside of that but they are looking to partner with small cable TV providers to offer branded devices and options here for cheap streaming with it few things report according to Light reading who broke the news this service will launch this year at some point we don't have a price or information we reached out to um ew scripts and they sent us the following statement that Tabo is always looking to engage with new opportunities and Partnerships uh that benefit the consumer and add um um addressing the rapidly changing media landscape um script sent us not denial not much confirmation there not much details are known but it does seem that we're increasingly seeing companies look for cheaper smaller packages we'll have to wait and see what happens with that but new live TV streaming service coming this year oh we'll see maybe something you have to bundle with your internet maybe something get on your own I'll be surprised if they only limited this to bundled Services we see many services now bundling with internet providers YouTube TV be one of the big ones that do this um and Direct TV and others are also doing it so let me know would you subscribe to a um a streaming service from Tableau like this I think a lot of people would love it to get their locals bundled into it to also then add in a bunch of entertainment channels if the price is right speaking of price in our next fubo price changes story of fuo is raising the price and changing some packages on new subscribers now let me be very clear here if you are a current subscriber and you already have your package you're going to be able to keep it this was first spotted by the TV answer man but for example now the elite plan which previously cost $89.99 has been renamed to the elite with Sports Plus and now cost $99 the big addition here is that it now includes NFL Red Zone Channel as part of this the all the pro package which was um 70 um $79.99 the base package that's remaining unchanged you can still get their base package at the same price with this um but the uh fubo Premiere plan formally $99.99 has been replaced with a deluxe package that's $109 .99 which includes the 4K unlimited DVR Sports plan with NFL Red Zone and adds MGM plus the streaming service to its lineup so fubo is of course promoting this as new packages with all kinds of new stuff in it no actual new channels to fubo they're just kind of moving channels around and price points around um I'm sure some people are unhappy because I know uh footall basically is catching a bunch of people who are for example looking to sign up for this weekend's week zero college football couple weeks from now NFL football signing up maybe shopping around for a live TV service for all that and now they're getting hit with this we'll have to wait and see what happens fubo has a long history of doing this they often around football season other times of the year will adjust their packages rename them reprice them um but if you're already on a package you typically get to keep it now if you leave that package if you're on a package now only you swap there's no guarantee you'll be able to get back to it we don't know if that package will ever return but fubo um kind of playing around I'm sure trying to drive up as much potential Revenue here and attract as many customers by trying to offer for example NFL Red Zone in these packages leave me a comment let me know what you think does this change your plans at all fubo also at the same time announced the um bkfc uh TV which is a bear Knuckles um championship television uh Fighting Championship excuse me it's called The Bear Knuckles fighting championship te TV bkfc TV now this is a free ad supported Channel launching a course on fubo I expect to see it like other F's other channels that they've been launching come to other services it's one more way they're trying to diversify themselves instead of just being a streamer content but having their own original content it's now available on more places Link in the showes down below if you want to learn more about that but any fans of be Knuckles um fighting now you have a dedicated Channel 20 47 to it actually I think that's the great thing about core cutting and these um free streaming services is the ability to offer so much content rate at your fingertips all right Paramount plus is now speaked up content Paramount plus is now included free for the essential plan the ad supported base plan not with showtime for spectrum TV select and my my plan Latino packages you will now get it um spec or Paramount earlier said that they intended to do this they struck a deal and renewed their contract with um spectrum and included Paramount plus found Disney steps it's Cable's attempt to try to keep cable TV subscribers paying for cable TV let's be honest few things here one of the U after price the number one reason we hear people can cancel cable TV is not watching it increasingly they're watching more and more content streaming cable Executives and all that they want to try to keep you happy by trying to bundle that in we'll see we've seen several price hikes recently you're saying you're bundling in but with all these price hikes kind of it's a lot of money two price hikes in the last 12 months from um Spectrum we'll see what happens there let me know what you think of those plans and Disney is looking for Disney CEO search a new CEO Disney is officially hired the guy who helped um Morgan Stanley replace their CEO to lead a committee to go over and find a new replacement for Bob Iger in late 2022 Bob Iger returned after the board decided things weren't going the direction they wanted with the new CEO he took over and it was very clear from the moment he came back that this was a temporary assignment and that they would be looking for somebody else now they formed a committee to do it hey Disney if you want I'll give me a call we can talk I think I can straighten up your streaming and you can probably help with your Disney Parks a little bit there uh but in all seriousness uh Disney is looking for a new coo this is probably going to be a dragged out affair they are reportedly considering internal candidates and external candidates um now Disney's had some luck and some trouble in the past bringing in people from the outside and promoting from within it's all a mixed bag there's no right or wrong answer there for that kind of thing but um it' be interesting whoever comes in has some big shoes to fill um for all the complaints about Bob Iger uh he has been a very successful CEO for Disney over his tenure he came back and made some difficult decisions in a very difficult environment is a very tough place right now for a company like Disney to be profitable not only do you have everything that happen happen in 2020 affecting theme parks um and the cost of movies televisions are skyrocketing to produce at the same time you know the revenue from cable that the golden EG at cable TV is drying up and having to struggle with the high cost of parks you think about you know things like electrical gas that kind of stuff is going up labor is going up but food costs wood all that stuff is going up puts them in interesting position Whoever has it this is a difficult job don't underestimate how difficult it is to have some something just the size of Disney think about the sheer massive the production company the parks all the the merchandise all these other things for one person to supervise it all is very difficult we'll see what happens but it's going to be very interesting to see the long-term play here who they pick this is an important time and an important moment for Disney to get the right person to lead them through this very difficult period of time not just for Disney look at Warren br's scar R struggles Paramount struggles NBC universals kind of like oh we're good make no mistake they're facing the same issues that all these others are also so I'll be interested to see who they select all right let's get into the Question of the Day question of the day if you have a question for me leave me a comment start off with something like a question for Luke so I know it's something you want me to answer here I answer some in the comments and some here today's question comes in Luke which music and live uh or and streaming services says live streaming services but let's just talk about streaming services in general do I use I always hate answering these questions because for one I subscribe to a lot of services I actually don't use that much um because I review them there's a lot there make news I subscribe to pretty much every live TV service out there just so I can see you know if I get a tip that hey the answer added a new channel change the feature I want to be able to log in and confirm that before I do a post on it um so I I have those but what ones do we use in my family well I have the Disney plus bundle for Verizon and we use that quite a bit of course I'm a sports fan so I love golf I love football all kind of stuff so I use ESPN plus my kids especially my youngest son he's addicted to Mickey Mouse Clubhouse almost every day at the end of the day we give him um some milk one episode Mickey Mouse Clubhouse kind of calms him down gets him right for bed um now with that uh so Disney plus huge but I get that for free from uh my subscription to or my wireless subscription to veram on that grandfather plan be a huge football fan and fall Sunday tick I love it at YouTube TV for that um if it wasn't for what I do I'd probably only subscribe to a live service like that during football season and maybe a little bit into like March Madness for example uh but I get it year round because of the others uh we do use Amazon Prime mostly for shipping I have the ad supported plan that now is a default we do use a little bit of Amazon Prime with that too of the streaming side but again I've had prime for many years we we do way too much shopping there and then with that we also have for music I um of course I have Amazon uh or Amazon YouTube's um Premiere or YouTube whatever the ad free YouTube I just blank down the name comes with the music part of it also actually use Amazon's music because we have a bunch of echo in our house we find it works best for that I get the ad free YouTube because I kind of like not having the ads um I like but at the same time as aan Creator I like supporting Channel owners and supporting them but I also like it because I have a pre-teen daughter who really loves her YouTube we only allow her to watch it on the TV we don't allow it on her mobile tablets cuz we want to see what she's watching but I like it that there's no commercials on it because then she's not seeing a bunch of stuff and asking us to go buy her stuff um so I got the family plan there really do like that it's a nice feature so those are the big ones we have now I will regularly rotate a surface around uh if Outlander on my wife wants that um if the like when the new Star Trek Lower Deck season comes on I'll pick up Paramount I actually have Walmart plus I just haven't gone in and enabled it I need enable that because I get the free Paramount plus I'll get that for uh and use that for when the lower Dex comes um but overall that's my selection I do subscribe to a couple things you know my wife and I we use WalMart delivery we find it saves us time and we find it saves US money because we're not tempted to buy stuff in the store just because we're there we're only buying what we want from the list um with that we get some free Pluto TV content ad free I should say and we get Paramount plus so we get we take advantage of a lot of that stuff free services I have definitely taken advantage a lot of them you know one of the things I like to do a lot of times when I'm just doing other things is I put on the old classic prices right Channel with Bob Barker love it but what I do and what's right for me is for me NFL Sunday Ticket something I take advantage of you may not um you know I'll be honest I probably wouldn't be a Hulu subscriber right now if it wasn't for getting it for free from Verizon but when that King of the Hill reboot comes out next year we'll definitely be watching it definitely be watching um it on Hulu so everything is you know there's pluses and minuses to everything always keep in mind what you want is what you should get just because I subscribe to something and that works for me and my family you know hey everybody's different honestly if I wasn't doing you know if I wasn't doing this job I'd probably only be paying for two or maybe three streaming services um and then most them would be a rotating probably have a live TV service like I said during football season um as long as I get Disney Plus for free you know we're going to keep doing that but then I'll probably rotate things like Paramount plus stars or
