[Music] Jamie Bennington the son of late Lincoln Park lead singer Chester Bennington has criticized the band's decision to bring in Emily Armstrong as their new [Music] vocalist Armstrong who co-founded the rock band dead Sarah made her Lincoln Park debut in a live performance September 5th alongside new Drummer Colin Britain the highly anticipated reveal came with the news of the group's first new music release since the death of frontman Chester Bennington a new album and a supporting tour duft from zero Bennington died in 2017 by Suicide Jamie voiced his disapproval via Instagram on Monday writing in a story post that Lincoln Park co-founder Mike shenoda had quietly erased my father's Life and Legacy in real time during International Suicide Prevention month he authored multiple lengthy paragraphs that highlighted Armstrong's past referencing her ties with the Church of Scientology as well as her support of Danny Masterson who was convicted of raping two women and sentenced to 30 years to life in prison in 2023 Mars Volus singer Cedric Bixler zala and his wife Chrissy Carell Bixler one of several women who accused masteron of sexual assault also spoke out against Armstrong Bixler zaler shared an earlier post he had written this past year on dead Sarah's Instagram page saying do your fans know about your friend Danny Masterson your rapist friend the appointment of Armstrong and and Lincoln Park's new album from zero has also sparked backlash amongst fans shenoda addressed concerns during a Discord conversation expressing his understanding of the public shock and outrage while urging for respectful discussion Armstrong issued a statement of her own on September 6th telling fans that she wanted to clear the air about supporting Masterson I was asked to support someone I considered a friend at a court appearance and went to one early hearing as an observer soon after I realized I shouldn't have she wrote adding that she hasn't connected with Masterson since to say it as clearly as possible I do not condone abuse or violence against women and I empathize with the victims of these crimes she said Lincoln Park which is made up of Mike shenoda Brad Delson Phoenix and Johan now in addition to Armstrong and Britain is scheduled for a six-state Arena tour with concerts that include stops in Los Angeles New York Hamburg London soul and Bogata the band's new album will arrive November 15th
