Carlos Rodon You make from last track that allows you to be as sharp as you were this evening. Yeah. We just, you know, had some time in between the week to work on stuff and she's back on the grindstone trying to trying to find the fastball lines. Find The Change-Up lines. You know, last week against Detroit was a little wonky, you know, I wasn't at my best. I was sporadic with command and try to hold that back in, with the staff and the pitch coaches and get back dialed in and it worked out. Behind the plate today and you know he thought he's I don't I didn't I didn't Shake It On Any pitch. If the shakes you saw her, mostly they shakes and I just rolled with what he called and I thought Trevor was really great back there with a game playing along. It's called well and you know we got we put up zeros defensively, we played really well and we scored runs. We need to some big homers from Big boys, and the bullpen came and shut it down. And I thought we played a great game. Momentum starting pitchers, often or pretty relaxed their focus in The Dugout when they're waiting to go back out there. But when some of those home runs the video caught, you kind of go a little crazy just what's it like in that Dugout when you see those guys doing what they're doing? Yeah, I mean everybody loves watching a home run preferably not on the mound, obviously The Dugout. It's more fun to watch when our team hits him and you know the number 49 for judge. I was excited and I'm staying with the paint patented Oppo, Taco to hear make you Stadium. I mean, he hit that ball. I don't think it was his best, but he's just so strong. He just goes out there and makes good swing and hit that ball up. And I mean yeah, it's nice to have those guys in the lineup for humans. Importance for him for the season. As you mentioned is opposite field in this game. He's a great player but he's a he's a better teammate, better better, man, for sure. I mean, I feel like we talked about are Judges a player, but Aaron judges as a human being is, is top-notch for sure, as well. So the obvious run support you get. How much does when this team hit it? Once you see, how much does it affect the pitching? Yeah, I feel like I've talked about this. A lot of had a lot of Support over this season. It seemed like to score runs for me and it's great. It just, it just makes it easier to go out there and attack the zone and get guys out when you get a cold. Ocean and yeah puts it puts the sort of picture at ease Stoney Creek but all eyes on him because like watching a guy with those expectations for Mikey does. Yeah I mean he does have a high expectations at all times. Yeah it's impressive for him to perform the way he does with those high expectations I You know it's it's a lot of home runs but he also strings together, great at-bats, you know he fouls off pitches, he works counts I mean the guy sitting what 340 now oh PS above 1000 probably 11:00 I mean 100 something RBIs I mean he's had an incredible season thus far it's going kitchen feed off each other. You got a nice one. Yeah, I think, you know, we had a great start from strowman, we had a great start from from NASA, NASA had a great start last time. I are excited. For and Garrett goes out there and throws up zeros as well. I mean yeah I think I think we do feed off each other. You know we want to perform just as good as the next guy. It's you know we're almost competing against each other as keep throwing up. Those zeros. You know, you don't be the guy that gives it to run so well, if you weren't here two years ago when he had 62, what is, how does this measure up to what you saw from afar? Yeah, I watched her and judge on TV back in 22 when he had 62. I think every every every game that he played wasn't on TV or some some 20 was that, you know, in the high 50s. So I mean I feel like I wasn't here in 22 but I feel like he's more of a complete hitter this year. I like I said he's hitting 340, he's working counts. He I mean he gets walked at outrageous clip. He gets attention, he walked, I mean and still be able to do that damage when he might only get three to two at-bats, another two or intentional walks it's impressive. Barry Bonds was a probably arguably the best hitter ever played baseball. And that's, that's high. Praise for her. And I mean I I could definitely see it for sure. Aaron Judge Let's use, you know, there's a little rough stretch there for a little bit but guys are figuring out and doing your thing, you know, with offense. We have they go out there, give us a couple zeros early and allow the offense kind of get working good things are gonna happen. But, you know, I just, I feel like it's just start off your start, guys are trying to one-up each other, always saw from Cole's here from rode on and continuing to, do you ever get a chance just the place? The numbers you have and if so, what's going through your mind Seasons? Too long, and too hard to do that. So just focus on the next game, what we do the wind even invest years, have you ever felt as locked in as you are now trying to get locked in? Once you get locked in and I'll let you guys know but just like I said, try to keep it simple. I think that's the best thing I can say. I tried to do too much every single day. We got a great lineup, we got a great team. Just go out there and do our job, good, things are going to happen and your numbers are going to be there. Evaluate the seasons, it's not over yet. So once once I get a chance to reflect on it, when it's over, we'll we'll go over. It's just more first place. And that's all a matter of right now. Yeah, it's not real. I try not to think about it even when they would say a lot of the Yankee greats here you know, mantle DiMaggio, it's Emeritus Babe Ruth, it's tough to comprehend or even think about. So just don't think about it and just keep going. You got to watch them a lot so growing up in the bay, area's anything about him, you like love me, like I love how easy maybe game look you know on the offensive side and defensive. Side. You know, he would get one picture night and he did it out of the park. I'm definitely not, not there that point. So you know, just trying to be like him trying to be like a lot of guys, but I was the greatest ever do it. Sorry. I can't really compare to that point. There was a point in a way you were hitting under 200 but you never seemed worried. Why we got 162 games? It's a process. That's I think the most important thing, at that time, that we were winning ball, games won a lot of games, so, You know, who am I to sit here and pout about what's going on with me? It's if you're not hitting well, getting the cage, figure, some things out, talk with people and try to be a good teammate. So I wasn't too worried because you were winning and I think it kind of evens itself out, is that what you did that point you just got an occasion to figure some things out, or was there more to it? That's really just putting the work in talking with people going back to the basics, if something feels right, and it's just takes that bad stand, you know, stick with that. But It's just about trial and error. And like I said, it came down to your winning ball games, so that's all over. I was really worried about and I knew after 400 500 bats, I just hope it's on being a good teammate, the numbers will show up winning games regularly again like he did earlier in the year. What's the feeling like around the team? It's good. You know, it's really never wavered but I think a lot of us are looking at the schedule and seeing that we're running out of ball games until the end of the season. So it's time to go, you know, we had a good talk the other day and our hitters mean just about you know, how many series we have left and you know what, we have in front of us and what kind of opportunity we have. So I think it's just a lot of guys realizing that exactly like it's time to step on the gas. I agree, once we get locked in, I'll let you guys know but still there's always work to work to be done. You know. It's I was 14 for today. I miss an opportunity to guys on base and I didn't know Grandpa a double play. So there's always always room to improve so Hopefully, we're always improving to the last day I'm here. So, we'll see we'll talk again. And usually my friends. It's up victories. These fish meet up in the past. He's got a good fastball two different fast balls to use and a good changeup off of that. So a guy like that you kind of got To pick a side of the plate and do some damage. So luckily I was I was looking in that situation he got me out in earlier so it look at the barrel on it some somewhat barrel and gotta run. One of the things he feels like you're doing a better job of controlling the strike zone this year. Was that one of the things you felt like you needed to improve on coming into this year. Yeah, definitely. This is my whole career has just been, you know, attack an attack down away. Teams have gotten a lot of calls down away and it gets a little frustrating, but, you know, there's nothing I can do if they're going to call pitches off the off the plate and I'll battle with two strikes, but I gotta stick to my strengths and what I can do, if they're gonna leave mistakes, Hammer the mistakes look for your Zone and just do that. So, I just want to be a complete player, especially in our line of the guys, you got getting so do we got to stand hidden behind me? My job to get on base for those guys and let them, let them drive. You don't know what me with hammers are coming in tomorrow. I'm sure what I'm going to win, what you play, pick your mind. Hey Rod, Jeter other some of those guys did you enjoy talking on this or anything like that? You can learn from those different areas but a lot of those had a lot of success here in one year. Yeah definitely you know I was talking to Jeter than I even told me he was coming in so pretty excited about that. Guy chance to talk to my person. It's been a minute. But you can always learn something from those guys. They want a championship here. It's got a lot of guys in this room. Have not won a championship and you can always pick up some from them, it's if it's mindset, if it's, I thought and approach just anything, that's what's always cool about Old-Timers Day and playing for the Yankees. Those guys always come around and they're always happy and willing to share some info. So we'll definitely be, will definitely be bugging them for sure.
