The family and friends of an Air Force academy cadet from right here in Central Texas are grieving her death tonight, 19 year old Avery Kuntz who graduated from Thrall High school was found unconscious in her dorm room at the Air Force Academy in Colorado last night, Cay's Isabella Basco joins us now in the studio and Cadet Kuntz was being remembered as a star. Isabella. Yeah, the sky was the limit for 19 year old cadet Avery Coons who told Congressman Pete Sessions her dream involved being up in the air. So the congressman nominated her to the US Air Force Academy where she began her studies until it got cut short, thoughtful articulate strong here. It's a pretty even field right now and always willing to go the extra mile as a track star at Thrall High school. These are all reasons why Congressman Pete Sessions began a year long process to get Avery Koontz into the United States Air Force Academy which requires a nomination from a member of Congress. I want to fly. I want to accept the challenges that she and I talked about when we talked about that great American philosopher, Buzz Light year from here to invented the MB I and her eyes lit up, not just with excitement. Chip Osborne was on the congressman's panel for high school students who wanted to get into one of the service academies, selecting coons to be a representative with the Air Force Academy. I looked at it and I said, Avery with grades like this and an aptitude score like this. Are you sure you don't want to be an astronaut? The stage because I'm going to work on that. Her hard work coming to fruition after getting accepted to the academy celebrating her achievement at a ceremony at Thrall High School last March. It was everybody's favorite daughter of Texas who would be represented, not just thrall but Texas at the United States Air Policy County. Those hopes dashed after Kunz was found unconscious in her dorm Wednesday night. According to the Air Force Academy Academy, first responders attempted life saving measures but were unsuccessful. Her cause of death is unclear. All we can do is just hold on to the bright memories that we have of Avery. Proud of her service, proud to be at the Air Force Academy and proud to know that what she was doing was leading to a great career to make her life better than others. And the US Air Force Academy tells me they will have a memorial service for Cadet Avery Koons. A date hasn't been announced yet.
