with a cast as Act is this one there is no way that I could pass up on Fight [Music] Night hello everyone Teran to with hwood already did it if you haven't already go ahead like share subscribe to the channel leave a comment ring that Bell below anytime we have something you will be among the first know it's been a while folks since I believe House of the Dragon uh been sort of away mainly because there's not really been a show that I wanted to dive into and talk about on the channel I think the only show that I'm actively watching for the month of August would be bad monkey and I just didn't you should be watching if you aren't but I just didn't have the energy to jump into that because I started watching it once it already into this fifth episode um and I also knew that September is stacked there's a bunch of shows that I'm going to talk about this month I wanted to give myself a little bit of a vacation before I start pushing through through the month of September but between uh puls the king old man season 2 and um American Sports story with an Aon Hernandez I knew that I was going to have a busy month didn't picture me talking about fight night but this sort of came out into my my radar thanks to uh some prime positioning of uh NBC football and making it from peacock and then having ads throughout I was like well I want to check this out and I'm very glad that I did the first three episodes or three rounds they call it for Fight Night the million-dollar Heist are out and it's on peacock and it's cast stacked cast and uh it's anyone who ever done one of these shows with me before my first video for any show is pretty spoiler-free and so I'm going to tiptoe around but this is sort of based on true story also based on a podcast that exists about a a heist that occurred the night of Muhammad Ali's return to boxing after he draft dodged so there's a lot of heat on him returning to a fight and so there's a lot of just eyeballs surrounding that fight and so what this show does is sort of has three sort of story lines that intersect on this Big Heist and we'll start off with Kevin Hart as he's one he's the producer on this is from Heartbeat Productions but he is are deao lead he plays the chicken man as you as known he is a man who has his fingerprints sort of all over uh pieces of Atlanta he feels like he he's the guy that you go to talk the talk to kind of make the deals to sort of connect people to each other um and it's a perfect sort of role for Kevin Hart um it's not comedic at all so there's no comedy he's doing a little bit more of that if you haven't seen True Story on Netflix with Wesley Snipes you should it gets a little ridiculous in the back end of it but it's a really good show um suspense wise this is as well and so sort of continuing on his traumatic chops and it's the perfect person because he still has to be that fast awward like like hey I can make this happen I can make this I can make the deals happen but he gets he is a character um who gets in a little bit over his head he wants to be in the world with the big guns of the Black Mafia he wanted sour to be that wing in Atlanta for the heavy hitter Frank Molton the black Godfather played by samel Jackson and so on this night he's planning to sort of throw a party for Frank in Frank's honor he wants to get Frank smoo it up with Frank have everybody over he puts out these flyers and whatnot to sort of put the world out the notice out that hey we're gonna have this big party at this house that he's he's he's putting it at and um sort of galvanizing and getting all the the Black Mafia that that got the people from New Jersey Chicago New York all those Prime cities that had them he wants to sort of have this break bread moment with them at this party post the Ali fight so it's him trying to motor mouth his way into all of these back rooms and sometimes he gets caught in over his head sometimes he doesn't but that's that's one story that's the Kevin Hart piece of it mind you Taraji is circling his uh his his his his orbit as character named sweets who is is a side piece if you will but it probably seems like his main while he has his wife and his family he has his side piece who he seems to be doing more of his business work with while he has a family with her and so um a lot of what chicken man is doing he's doing it to make a better life for himself and his family but he's taking all these shortcuts and not doing anything honest he's a he's a he's a hoodlum as uh as we canly hear from uh detective JD Hudson who was played by Don cheel again CES stack that's one storyline the other story line that is sort of going with that is that the the folks who are set up to who rob these folks and they um putting on a plan to attack these folks at the home um and sort of get infiltrate the party and then as people just arrive just keep Gathering money keep gaining money keep gaining money as people enter into this place and they they as whole don't know who it is that they're robbing they don't realize they're they're they're pulling a heist on uh the Black Mafia most of them I'd say 90% of them there are a couple who are aware um and so the people who put them in place um give them this deal and then sort of scur away without telling them you can tell that something is up but they're not letting out the the lead who gives them the deal isn't letting letting it all out and so Mack who was our lead of the criminals if you will is sort of uh we see him trying to make a better life for himself so we get to see his side you to see he has a daughter that he's trying to do things on the up and up and so this is sort of his last score not realizing that he's doing it with a bunch of people who are some are too young and and naive and ignorant and some are too just Brash and reallying to just shoot anything that moves and so once he realizes that he is in kind of hot water with who he's trying to rob it's then like him trying to figure out crap how do I get out of this and then you have the Don cheel piece of it who was playing uh detective JD Hudson and he spends his time he's given a detail to make sure that Muhammad Ali makes it to this fight safely and then gets the hell out of Georgia and he's up against it because he's a black cop in a world where it's mostly white cops um there's been some integration with him the police force but he feels like he is being put out to slaughter and he is to an extent and he doesn't quite agree with some of the tactics that Ali has but then as he comes along you see that no he 100% agrees but he knows he has to sort of bite his tongue and Tow this line to sort of get things right and when he doesn't it's just like oh God somebody give him a break so there's a a cool little Brotherhood that formed between Ali and JD and U I will say this it took me a minute I feel like the the actor Dexter Darden who's playing Muhammad Ali the affectation that he's putting on for Ali is almost overbearing in too much like I think the he's acting perfectly fine but the vocal ticks that Ali has sometimes just feels too forced um luckily I don't feel like he is a major part of this show outside of these first three episodes I feel like he he's here to sort of shine a better eye on who JD is and paint picture better and then sort of rides off into Sunset and then the these three episodes they're given to us for a reason because the heists occurs those first three episodes you see the setup the actual Heist and sort of the Fallout of the heist and now it's about JD being put on the case to figure out what the hell happened there's a dead body there's people who've been robbed stripped naked uh at this home and it's just now who who's responsible for this and there's some history between uh ch chicken chicken man and JD there's history there um Frank now is not entirely sure if he wasn't set up like with all this motor mouthing that that the chicken chicken man was doing was he set up by chicken man like was he in on it he doesn't know he doesn't know who to trust he doesn't know but somebody was crazy enough to try to rap Rob black Godfather of the rest of the Black Mafia we need to get to the bottom of that and um see he was trying to use JY man basically as a path all of this comes together it's such a tight tightly written story and it reminds me of how I did not feel about the big cigar I think the big cigar had a problem where it tried to put this a serious story in place but it didn't always feel honest or suspenseful it sometimes we take jokey moments with with things where this is played straight um and it's intense and it's suspenseful and when this episode when this series gets dark and you feel the intensity that is going on and because it's a lesser known story for me I don't know who's on the up and up or or what's going to actually be the outcome and so I'm just in it and I'm just chewing it up and this is just fascinating watch you got Terence Howard didn't even mention he's in there Don Cheeto teraj P Henson Samuel L Jackson dexra D is a younger actor you don't really know but in Kevin Hart and they're all just firing on all cylinders you get Khloe Bailey showing up R uh in there to and she's killing it like this cast comes together well puts together an amazing performance and as a suspenseful show that now every Thursday I am going to be sitting there with like baited breath like all right where are we going from here where do we take this from here I love that this was a show that showed like use the Muhammad Ali pce as sort of the setup and now we're take now that's out of the way we're just off on this race and then to see what what happens from this chicken man's got some explaining to do because I feel like he's about to head home with his side piece because there's nowhere there's nowhere safe that happens there's a lot of Fallout that comes from this Heist um people are injured people are dead and so now they're all sort of running to their their Corners before Don cheo's detective comes in to sort of make heads or Tales of what exactly happened and this is before Frank maybe just goes on The Killing Spree to kind of make sure that people know that the black Godfather is still the main pers um in this world so yeah peacock you got one um well-placed ads during a football game that I had to watch I had to watch on peacock places on my radar good timing perfect timing and I think you you got to show that I am I am hooked in for so uh yeah I will be this is going to be one that I continue to talk about on this channel um I'm probably going to be a little bit late on the next one as I have a wedding to go to but uh it definitely will be coming and
