Intro desperate lies tells the story of lyanna an ordinary Brazilian woman who is Keen on having a child with her loving husband though the decision of wanting to have a child has always been both lyanna's and Thomas' he gets a little bit tired of having to make love on scheduled and ends up cheating on his wife with a fellow cyclist named Claudia lyanna finds out about the affair and Thomas decides to leave the house for a bit to cool down at this time lyanna visits her best friend and business partner Deborah to speak about her anguish de tells her that the best thing to do in this situation would be to cool off at her brother Oscar's club which has the hottest scene in the city trusting debah lyanna decides to go with her but as soon as they get there Deborah ends up heading out with a man while lyanna is left to fend for herself this is when Oscar swoops in and tells lyanna that he's always had a massive crush on her lyanna isn't really comfortable in this situation but Oscar ends up getting her drunk and then slipping her a Molly he then decides to help her home and assaults her while she's unconscious because it seems he believes she seduced him eventually Thomas returns and lyanna doesn't tell him anything about what's happened but he soon learns she's pregnant not with one child but with two why is the birth Why Is The Birth Of The Twins Complicated? of the twins complicated it turns out that due to heteropaternal Super fondation lyanna is pregnant with twins from two different fathers one is her husband and the second is her assaulter after a paternal test lyanna decides to be honest with Thomas And while at first he blames her for the situ situation calling her an adulter he decides to deal with it because their dream is finally coming true lyanna comes up with the idea of putting Oscar's child up for adoption and finds a beautiful couple Betina and Sergio to take the kid as he comes into the world however when the boys are born lyanna's mother's instinct makes her realize that the twins miss each other so she decides to take Marcos back against Thomas's will soon Thomas starts to treat both kids differently Marcos is Oscar's child and Matas is Thomas's so Thomas shows obvious partiality towards his own child later when the kids are 10 Marcos almost drowns in a waterfall and Thomas takes way too long to save him which is very unfather likee though lyana spends most of the twins childhood trying to get Thomas to treat them like equals it never works what happens to Oscar's Club What Happens To Oscar’s Club? lyanna is Not Oscar's only victim he often provides drugs to the men who visit his club and even gives them keys to rooms for them to take women to when one of these girls threatens to sue Oscar it is Thomas's father who ends up saving him because he's one of the best lawyers in town ironically Thomas works at his father's firm seeing the kind of guy Oscar is Thomas ends up reporting the club for drugs using one of his guys in the police named Nelson to do the Dirty Work Oscar goes to prison for a bit but later gets released and moves to Argentina the club gets shut down and Oscar loses everything he's worked hard for all his life why does Oscar act like Why Does Oscar Act Like The Victim? the victim things are more complicated because lyanna's brother Lucas TI in a car accident while Oscar was in the car too they were best friends and played football together even becoming Champions however Oscar lost his career while lyanna lost her brother what nobody knew at the time because Oscar's father hit this fact was that Lucas and Oscar were high on drugs and alcohol when the accident happened however Oscar still blames Lucas even though it's basically his fault for telling Lucas to speed when he was high leading to his death what happens between Deborah and What Happens Between Deborah & Liana? Diana what's unfortunate is that for the most part Deborah takes her brother's side and doesn't want to believe her best friend's words because she simply can't imagine her brother could be such an awful human being this is really quite heartbreaking especially because Oscar just seems like the kind of guy who always asks for trouble what's worse is that lyanna keeps forgiving Deborah because she and Oscar are different people and she never actually holds her responsible for putting her in that situation how does Oscar die 10 years How Does Oscar Die? into the future when Oscar returns from Argentina he decides to start a new bar he learns that inao Sylvia's son and Thomas's nephew is a DJ and invites him to play for the opening of the bar not knowing anything about the guy inao decides to do the gig and invites all his family members to the bar's launch lyanna is devastated by the situation and Thomas decides to show up too only to learn that Oscar tricked them this truly angers Thomas and as the days pass his rage gets worse however things get really out of hand when Oscar starts to hang out with the kids at their football club because he notices from the pictures that Deborah shows him that Marcos looks just like him as a child all Oscar wants is money and so he starts harassing lyanna what's worse is that he starts dating Claudia the same woman Thomas cheated with and asks her to help him get DNA swabs Oscar does a paternity test and learns the truth about his child he then forces himself into lyanna's home and asks her for money Thomas shows up at the same moment and pulls a gun at him ALS had done the same thing earlier so Thomas had practiced and prepared himself if the situation arose again however they get into a physical altercation and Thomas ends up shooting Oscar in the chest instantly killing him somehow even then Deborah and lyanna continue to be business partners what happens to Thomas in What Happens To Tomas In Prison? prison Thomas ends up going to prison for the murder of Oscar while lyanna raises her two boys into beautiful teenagers at first Thomas is determined to keep his relationship with lyanna as the same as it was before he even promises her that he'll come back and love his family however when he's handed a Bible in prison he ends up becoming a fanatic ready to believe that the truth will set him free even getting those words tattooed on his body the man completely transforms becoming a new villain in lyanna's life he then completely Cuts ties with lyanna and the boys and starts seeing Claudia in prison in the meantime with grown-up boys lyanna now moves to a quaint Countryside town for some time there she meets a guy guy named Dante who is an old friend and she helps his daughter recover from an injury on her hand that Dante blames himself for these two definitely have chemistry but lyanna is very loyal to her husband despite him having cut all ties with her when Thomas returns he basically behaves like an assaulter trying to force himself on lyanna because she's his wife but fortunately lyanna manages to stop him this time when Marcos and mauses learn of their father's return they're concerned about him leaving them out of the blue however what they don't know is that Thomas has told lyanna that he's going to tell the kids the truth eventually it is because of Thomas's mother that the boys learned that lyanna had an affair with Oscar she conveniently leaves out the part about Claudia obviously they return home Furious and Lanna simply tells them that they wanted to keep one child but she later fought to keep them together because she couldn't bear separating them lyanna even tells them about marcos's father being Oscar and Thomas feels betrayed yet again at this point he is determined to become a politician so with Claudia he joins a congressman's team he then creates a YouTube channel that amasses a massive following in a very short period of time where he puts his sons out to dry without saying a word to them this completely destroys Marcos but hey at least he's got Matas on his side no no how does Marcos lose How Does Marcos Lose His Memory? his memory feeling utterly destroyed Marcos ends up taking a scooter and speeding getting injured in the same way as Thomas did many years ago this leads to him losing all his memory and since the show is called desperate lies Matas tells lyanna to keep the dark truths hidden and lie to him about how perfect their family life has always been however a prick from school shows up at home one day when Marcos is alone and for no reason at all shows maros one of Thomas' videos Marcos throws a huge fit calling his mom and brother liars and even punching Matas in the nose Matas even told Marcos that his own girlfriend Julia was marcos's girlfriend because he just wanted him to feel good this of course upset Julia however after the big fight Marcos invites Julia home so she and Matas can talk while he can leave this is when lyanna decides to tell them the truth about what Oscar did to her Julia is supportive of lyanna and finally understands why she put Marcos up for adoption additionally it's a really tiny world because Julia is now Betina and Sergio's daughter what What Happens At Tomas’ Wedding? happens at Thomas's wedding as if Thomas hadn't already turned into a terrible human being as the show tried to imply in its first scene he decides to get married to Claudia I don't know if Claudia is the worst human being here though because despite knowing everything lyanna had been through they decided to have her side with both her perpetrators so Thomas shows up to see his bride before the wedding which is obviously meant to be a sign that things are going to get really messed up he then gives her the same pair of earrings he gifted lyanna for their wedding day as expected the wedding is a disaster because while Matas is supposed to attend Marcos is meant to go visit his aunt de there he meets Caesar Oscar's father who has his own plans Caesar decides to take a gun to the wedding and Deborah and Marcos end up there to do some damage control however they're too late and Caesar pulls the gun on Thomas before they can stop him but it's Marcos who ends up saving the day telling Caesar that if he wanted to kill mat's father he'd have to shoot him first this somehow pulls on Caesar's heartstrings and the day is saved unlike Thomas's political career and his personal life I guess at the wedding dinner Matas decides to give Thomas a piece of his mind about how he doesn't know anything about family Matas tells Thomas that if he is so determined to hate maros he might as well hate Matas too because he's a part of him and so he should permanently stay out of their lives Julia records his heartfelt speech so that lyanna can have a look at it this encourages lyanna to speak her truth and post a video online not only does she finally publicly admit that Oscar assaulted her but she also speaks up against Thomas this then and is Patricia the young woman who was assaulted in Oscar's Club all those years ago to speak her truth as well lending a louder voice to lyanna's cause this soon leads to lyanna writing a book about her children and trying to erase the dirty stain their father puts on them the book of course becomes massive and the trio is redeemed while Thomas Retreats further into his dark cave of Truth seeking why does Thomas burn up leana's Why Does Tomas Burn Up Liana’s House? house despite being obsessed with his own son at the end of the show Thomas decides to burn down Le Lana's house while all three of them are sleeping earlier in the episode we saw him go mad at the thought of lyanna having the upper hand he blames her for his life's failures what's arson when you've already been convicted of murder although this whole time Thomas has basically been taking revenge for whatever he thought lyanna did to him this is definitely his worst moment Thomas had always been misogynistic and a borderline alcoholic so when he realized that the woman was winning he couldn't stand it this has nothing to do with Matas at all earlier in the show Thomas even blames lyanna for what happened to her unfortunately for him lyanna is determined to save herself and her two sons because her new life has only just begun she saves her two loving boys after calling the fire department Thomas gets caught again speaking some nonsense about truth seeking and ultimately gets arrested I guess at the end of the day it's a nature versus nurture story Thomas's facade of being good is completely demolished by the end of the series especially because of how his parents treat Marcos and I guess we're meant to believe that women are simply more nurturing because somehow Sylvia always supports lyanna or maybe it's because she's a doctor however one thing is clear by the end of the show Marcus and Matas have each other and will always be by each other's sides no matter what this is the only good thing about the show at the end of desperate lies while Thomas tries to become a cult leader in prison with his little Bible and Truth seeking tattoo lyanna enjoys a new beautiful life with Dante her two sons Julia and Dante's daughter Anna a happy family with a beautiful happy ending will there be a season 2 I'd Will There Be A Season 2? rather the story ends here but if there were to be a second season for desperate lies I can't help but imagine it would simply be a repeat of Thomas's Revenge which I'm sure nobody is really interested in watching but thankfully with how the show ended we can assume it's a conclusive ending
