How Ben Johnson & Detroit Lions Will Get By Without Wide Receiver Help!!!

[Music] all right man let's talk about uh how the Detroit Lions can survive without re receiver or make do without receiver whatever I choose to name this video come on Grandma and uh I spoke about just a little bit um before but yeah one of the ways they can actually get by with our receivers I think they are going to carry about four running backs and maybe even up to four tight ends um so that's one thing to think about is that they got a few receiving tight ends that's big and athletic now Zer got to get it together but he coming out injury and we need James Mitchell to finally arrive but you got understand he was coming off of ACL getting his feet well last year I know he might be in danger of getting cut but we'll see but they got their tight ends and they got their backs contrary what people believe David Montgomery is good out the back field he always talks about uh using jir Gibbs at running at a receiver too and the the emergence of vaki you know and how he looked running you know with the ball in his hand off a hand off catching it so you got some answers so it's going to you know the number one issue with the Lions last year out offensively outside of the third quarter was how was they going to generate plays outside the hashes and James Williams is supposed to help with that but you putting that on one guy and somewhat St Brown to get explosive plays outside the hashes and what team's going to do this year is they going to take away the Lions their ability to do something in between the hashes they going to for Force gol to th the barall outside the hashes so so that's going to be know them doing more outbreaking routes you know is that's going to be them playing more tighter at the line of scrimmage and letting the Lions beat them down the field that's what it's going to be but when you can run the football you can generate plays down the field when you got jir Gibbs and Jameson Williams touching the football you can generate explosive plays but he Brown can do it you know be golden tap with the football in his hands you can create explosive plays so but it'll be the offense to go to another level had they been able to create explosing plays outside the hashes consistently or just players outside the hashes that would lighten up the box that would you know uh open windows in the middle of the field [Music] yep it would open up Windows wide in the middle of the field so but how they going to how they going to create even if they say well we going to stick with peoples Jones or Isaiah williams/ K Davis whichever two or two out of three we going to stick with them all right cool then the next question becomes you know you know how we you know they don't work out what we going to do and what they going to do I'm telling you we going to see a lot of tight ends playing the slot you going to see a lot of tight ends lining outside the hashes you going to see tight ends and running backs lining up and catching the football they going to supplement they lack of receivers for running the football and getting the ball to the tight ends and the backs so you might see Le Porter more more outside and more inside you know just warning you you know you might see uh more of um you know you might see more of uh you know gives in a slot you know might see them more on the outside so to me to me they got too many so many offensive playmakers that excuse me that they can get creative you know it ain't like you ain't got good receivers you know what I'm saying you know Raymond can do well you know with expanded expanded role we see what happens with him and see if he continues to return the football and in the kick return game so to me it's going it's going to be very very interesting very interesting so but what they can do from a from from a a creative standpoint of view and then you got one of the more creative offensive mind so you going to see a lot of you know you're going to see a big GE from either Brock wght and Shane Zestra if they don't clean it up at receiver somebody going somebody going to get the car you know and they going to be Big Red Zone threats they going to be big threats catching the football they going to be big threats running the football so mhm so yeah you going to see more running it more screens more end rounds more getting the ball the tight ends out of the slot lining up out on outside boxing out smaller Corners if they keep going this way you going you might even see you know three tight ends in in bunches you know they might just go out there and play bully ball you might see more wide receiver SK to Gibbs more end rounds to Gibbs so to me I think it's going to give I think Ben Johnson without having those top receivers going to be more creative and what you hope for is that you know Isaiah Williams Kayton Davis diam people Jones whoever it is can step up and make plays CU they going to see a lot of one-on-one they see they going to see a lot of one-onone they going to see a lot of oneon-one they going they they is the matchups is going to be stopping the run first and foremost bracking in you know St Brown taking away Sam leap Porter so Jameson going to see a lot of one-on ones and other receivers going to see and they got to beat one-on-one coverage and what they going to do offensively they going to put their best corner they probably going to put their best corner on or they best defenders on the uh on the other guys they going to double guy like St Brown they going to probably double or high low a guy like leap pora and they gonna put their best guy on Jameson Williams and they best guy on the next receiver I tell you what they going to do they going they going to say beat us so think about the thing about it is if you go out there and say well let's go get another receiver re really like that we could depend on you know that could be a JuJu Smith Schuster that could be a Michael Thomas I don't know of course something um me personally I like Terence Marshall I love him coming out and say let's do that right whoever you can find that's reliable as another receiver that way guess what now he got a match up he got a match up so if we going to double or high low everybody else and put the best on J Mo now he got a matchup now he got the worst defender on him going oneon-one or one of them and if he can beat him and you know then it's fair game the running game is going to be the running game you you you hope but it's about everybody else beating their matchups so but they got more than enough weaponry and more than enough creativity from a offensive mind to get to get to to to get by I mean to easily get by you know what vaki bringing what Montgomery bring as catchers what G bring as a catcher you know what J Mo look like he G to bring but you don't know until happens what St Brown bring you know what he bring Le pora you know and then what Zestra bring as a receiver at what Brock rght could do with the ball in his hand and as a blocker James Mitchell is the athletic freak we just ain't been able to see a Translate we hope it do so they got options they got options so it going to be going to be fun to watch you know reason I say it's going to be fun to watch is it's going to be to see how creative Ben Johnson get get cuz he really can get creative especially if he want to
