today on this good fine Thursday evening first game of the year for Coach Prim and the Colorado buffalo against North Dakota State hey you're tuning in right now just want to let you know you're Buffalo played their first game against North Dakota State it's a lot of things I want to get off a chess but we going to take one minute a piece and once I lay it out there go for my big dog what's going on Miss bis how you doing all right Colorado won the game 31 to 26 all right what stood out to me what really stood out to me I was right about most of the things that I said hey hey I was right about most of the things I said now I'm going to dissect this thing one by one ain't going to go along for no five or 10 minutes like going to throw one thing out starting and the end okay let's start out together when I first watched this game want to thank everybody how you doing Miss phis th what's up Al Al man you gota talk bro I'm trying to get you on what's up Kevin what's up uh Ken when I watch this game you know what it remind me of last year it remind me of last year that's what my best friend said that's my it remind me of I I thought Colorado had seven to eight players on defense that gonna get draft now I'm not saying they won't but when I look at the defensive side of the ball defensive side of the ball and I look at the def defensive coordinator the NFL coaches that coaches the defense which they are good and I know this their first game but what concerns me is they made too many substitutions okay and the best players that can really play didn't play wasn't on the field yeah and that stuned me I know it it's the first game they got time to straighten it out but I'm trying to tell you right now like I was telling me and Greg in in his chat was talking if they don't play he green at that midle line back I don't know what going on I know y'all think Trevor wood is all that brother he got exposed tonight yeah he made two play but the running back ran straight into him but when they made that in that third quarter when when they made that switch that third quarter they put H green up I had my surround sign on I heard something said CL CLA I said good gr they out there H like that number 41 41 the first time they went down there and SC on the Drive North Dakota State they beat Trev wood on the slant every time they ran that uh quarterback ran the ball out there he out run Trevor wood I'm through with that I ain't going to bash the kid I hope they straighten it out but I'm trying to tell you big dog if coach RS and the coaching sty don't get the defense by I Ain worried about the offense but one thing do concern about the Run offense even they can't run the ball or they don't have faith in running the ball or they don't want to run the ball it one or three it a be a c you can't yeah I'm just tell you what I saw now they got chance they got a chance to straighten everything out now I didn't know North North cot state was that good and which to me they still was I'm still from what I saw they ain't that good that quarterback good yeah that quarterback good he going to Pro now he going pro I ain't say he gonna get P but he going pro but check straight he took it straight out but at the another thing I saw it's from the coaching when you fourth down punt that ball if he had point the ball they would have scored they that game would have been close he had point the ball yeah you had to point the ball and then we're at the end of the game when it's time to put the game away the first play they ran a 80 yard bomb incomplete that gave that Team Hope oh if they had ran the ball theame would have been over that first time that first time they they it would have been over it would been over so I'm through with that I like benty he did good I ow him apology the dude played linebacker like he should but they just didn't put the one who need to go with I told y'all at first treble would the B do not go get go good together they shouldn't be on the field together let on third down that's it but the first two down and running play going forward Colorado gonna have a problem with running quarterbacks and at this time I yield to you well I thank you sir and the first thing I'm going to say mission accomplished and people looking like what do you mean they won the game that's the first thing first and foremost they they won the game now with that being said they know how to make it hard on themselves and it's coach bro I'm Ser it come from coach bro they got the player they had what what I can say is this the coaching has to make some corrections and they're going to have to make Corrections quick defensive front did a fantastic job you can say what you want to black bully coats black bully coats I have no problem with them that that that those D tackles I have no problem the edges I got a problem I got a problem I got a problem when it's third and and eight a third and 13 or whatever that third and eight or third and 12 and you offside and they and we stop it and and that's a punt and they then they turn around and score a touchdown that's hay that's on one that's hay on one hay did another one where he did uh hit somebody and and and and I'm sitting there like come on man come on man come on now oh whoa whoa whoa whoa but with that being said I looked at that and then I got my boy Shiloh Shalo is a third third and eight third and a discipline not hey hey hey I I can't I I I can't get passes wrong is wrong he he he he's been playing long enough to know once that ball goes past the what youall it what you hitting them for that play was way over it was and and you get you get off the field you you've done what you need to do but you're giving them them first downs so those are things I saw I also saw this here when it came to North Dakota State I'm gonna I'm gonna clap my hands for North Dakota State because they did what team supposed to do they believed in the themselves they went in there and play but yeah they they stuck with what they believed in and what I'm going go is this here if you look this is what I this is some things that I saw this is what I saw it was the same as last year as far as certain games the only difference you had from this year and last year is you had Superior athletes playing against uh playing against a team that's what you had Travis Hunter Superior athlete he made a touchdown the guy held him and that and and and and and I'm G tell people this what it is you might not believe it when you go back and watch that tape North Dakota State got some touchdowns because they were holding they held Travis they held and I'm talking about they held uh Hayes on a play Hayes had a sack and and they held him grabbed him by what weall it so it it was some calls here and there and then then I will like it is Mr will this the Sports Talk be watch call it what we saw the the off the officials didn't do at the beginning of the game they didn't do justice for Colorado they they let North Dakota State stay in that game but what I will say is this one here I'm commending North Dakota State on their scheme remember when I told you what they were going to do the tight end the motion the quarterback sneak the Chris I let me say this here how how do you have players running away and the middle is wide open when you got a quarterback that every that that that Ray Charles know he gonna run the football what are we doing and and I'mma go on two let me let me I'mma hit that and I'mma hit my boy two let me say this here for two gota get out get down what are you doing you're sitting up there thinking you Earl Campbell now I'm I'm two's biggest fan but two you don't take shots you never see Tom Brady don't take shots Payton Manning don't take shot we quarterbacks don't take shots that makes no that makes no sense and something else that uh coach Prime need this is what coach Prime he needs to protect uh his quarterback because they should have had a couple of 15 yard penalty because they were driving him into the ground after the play and then they did a helmet to helmet on one so he should have had some calls give the timeout go to time go you got it sir yeah but I ain't G to blame I ain't G to blame the game on no referees or nothing like that it's no it's called aado bro they gotta get it together no no no no no I'm not you you got to hear what I'm saying you still have to protect your players and he needs to come out so that people don't think and I'm going to give you an example when it came to Cam Newton Newton took hits that other quarterbacks didn't take and it's because his coach didn't protect him you have to protect your quarterback and you have to do like other coaches do you have to come out there and say hey I'm showing this tape and and on this tape my quarterback's getting hit and he's getting driven to the ground he's getting helmet to helmet and those of let him do it to Arch man let him do it to Arch man and see how I understand that that's football I'm talking about if you run the ball you gon have to do that well well well well let's say that again if they would have ran the football the game was over they had I'm about the whole through the whole game let me take even closer than that you on the four yardline three times why are you passing the B let let me go even crazier than that something that I I think Colorado can do they need to keep Sav in that backfield and when seven in the back field when he comes out and you clear all that space with the receivers every time they hit him in open space it was Pay Dirt he can you he can move things if you have to you can't say they can't run the ball they can run the ball they won't do but they I know they can they can they do they were doing it they just gave up on it it's like the coaching staff panic because the time of possession that they had over there all you got to do is go there and get in that defensive coordinator butt and tell them hey keep the players and now that making a play but if but but this is what I didn't understand if North Dakota state is controlling the clock you need to slow it down a little bit so your defense rests what are you doing you can't go out there and throw throw throw I don't and and that's what scares metime when you get the cook a lot of time this they go five wide every place and and and and that was wrong and and and I'll go again how is it that we can watch one coach come up with schemes with nonathletic receivers that don't have the talent that you have and these boys are getting loose over there and we have horses and we have to come up with plays where it's like come on folks and then at the end of the game you get conservative I'm not a conservative you throwing behind the line of scrimmage at the begin end of the game and I'm like with to J horn you know talk and then uh and got and Travis got one he lucky he didn't FAL because you got five Travis get down why are he h he h his leg too yeah and you could hurt run the ball bro get if you're in the middle of the field and you got five people coming at you get down quit watching PlayStation and all that me you gonna get killed and you and it just does not make sense but with that being said I didn't like the I did not like a lot of the coaching that occurred I didn't like the clock management I'm just gonna be real which me and my partner say I said the clock management was horrible in the second half because I'm looking at the first half too because I'm like the first half you could have did a couple things where you're like okay we down here on the four yard line let's get this here let's let's do a plate let's run what run the ball we're doing they they want to do it bro for some reason quarterback his decision making and uh that running backwards and all that I didn't like that I didn't like that throw the ball away and and really how can I put this the clock the ball Jim hor dropped the ball say that but she do threw that ball on the wrong side of the shoulder too no we're not we're not I'm not getting if the ball hit you in two hands I don't care side you got to hit him should have caugh but my point is that play should have been called either though but my but my point is why are we passing the ball when that stops the clock yep if you run the if if you run the ball that's going to be 30 some seconds going off the clock the game would have been over and the game over and my next thing goes with two why we coming up to the line of scrimmage acting like we pton Manning and the clock going down I'm not let him his own play but but stop let's stop it and and that's where my problem lies and that's what I tell people the quarterback next year ain't gonna call his plays the quarterback next year G the quarterback next year gonna run whatever coach FR them called that that's what you gonna run and that's what you need to do now because you do it now what's going to happen is this one here you run the ball if he called a run play 30 Seconds gone you off that you punt or whatever you need to do team don't have a chance of scoring you do it the way you're doing it the clock stops but then you know people gonna say well if he would have CAU well if if was a fifth we all be drunk I ain't going on that you you just go where it says hey you have to have it where I'm like two I understand you're a cereo assassin I understand you got that I understand they trust but when they're calling plays you can't let clocks go down to no one second and and and and call Ed two timeouts in uh a minute and 15 seconds come on now we gotta got to be better yeah another thing I didn't like man another thing I like we got five running back bro they you Tryon Miller a wide receiver in the back field half of the time I didn't mind that I didn't mind that and and the pro well let me let me explain this is what I didn't understand he's a receiver if you're bringing him out and you put him into motion where he could be the one in open space I love that I think that's perfect because you don't think you don't think D ha can do that more power and strong he showed it to you on the third time play got well no it was a fourth down play he showed it to me too tell he didn't get nothing that fourth down play we got stopped so I'm like you know why CLE BL sir let me and and and Eric Dickerson even though or or your boy Eddie George I'm just saying sometimes man you ain't that massive bro come on you know man they hit him for they hit him they hit him before he got to the BL strage I didn't like the play call where you had him back there by itself that's what I didn't like where was the tight end the tight end should have been in that agback position and come up they had they were five wide bro they five wide the whole G I just didn't I just didn't like that so I'm not blaming Hayden on that I'm not blaming I didn't the schemes it's certain schemes I threats in the game somebody who can break a tiger one every time Charlie break through one on bring him down but the other guy they couldn't bring him down and something else that I didn't like they started the game off running the football uh somewhat and they were very successful and then you get down there where it's a third third and two well no it's a second and two and you don't run the football you get eight yards and then you turn around we got to throw it I don't get that run the football let's get some but also what I would ask where is your schemes at I'm like I'm sitting there and I'm like dude we're you're running routes and I'm like I'm not getting it and then I look over at North Dakota State bro they run when I'm telling you they doing them picks and them Crossing where's so beautiful the tight end sitting over there just smiling they do they do a lot of hold on them hold hold I don't care I don't care when you when when the when the official do this here what does that mean touchdown so so so the point being is not the holding the point being is what you saw to tonight was this when you have all players in space it's a problem so all I'm saying is why are we doing more motion why aren't you putting Jimmy in motion more than what you're doing he need to be at that line of scrimmage going from this going motion to the other side uh Wester we saw none of that motion with him and I'm like okay and then when you do you get him on a linebacker you got to you got to make that linebacker pay you got to make that linebacker pay you got to get that ball out there there and that that was an under throw on two of them that would have been touchdowns for Wester but I'll leave I'll leave that alone but I don't even like that because you should have been the defensive side why were they blissing sir the reason they weren't blissing because I don't think they were comfortable with the uh group they had in there I said why were they blitzing they teams are looking at them and like if you're not going to use a running back to drop that ball off you're gonna get your quarterback killed because they're gonna they are pulling their ears back and when they pulling their ears back they're rushing so it we have to have a safety blanket for two and Schumer is going to have to go on and get his uh Playbook and get it updated because what I'm looking at is this here if okok if North Dakota State can run an offense like that and and be that successful and have receivers open you need to look at that Playbook and say what can we take from a a couple of those plays you should take and use because those plays in which they have those Crossing man you can't stop them because if you look at it you got to make a choice be BW you got to make a choice when they do them Crossing and then they drag that tight end you can't guard everybody and the quarterback is rolling what you going to do they just got a lot of things to work on to me man man like I say it's first game it's on tape they played on the Thurs they gonna give him another extra time next Saturday to play Nebraska that'll be a different game but if they can't stop that run with with a bigger office line coming at in Nebraska going to be a long day on Saturday night whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa now let's look at this again did they have a problem stopping the run or did they where they're moving where they're going away from each other which opens up space for them to those routes that they run I'm like come on dude you need to change some of those routes and get them where it's a little more CR you need them in space and I saw it I'm like those boys in space is a problem quit trying to do those boys with you doing back shoulder passes stop all that fool you're going on the sidelines want to try to drag it stop it because it's too many issues with those passes because if anything goes wrong your leg go over here you you know you you're throwing it too high let that go let's do something where we'll put these guys in space and that's what I want to see I want to see more offensive plays where they're in space get the running back back there put the running back as your drop off in open space and then you can go from there and and the offense I ain't got complaints on the offense the only thing I don't like the offensive coordinator got got nervous and he relate and he and he reverted back to the old days let's put the ball in two hand and let's pray that two save today and that's not championship football championship football is I'm not gonna get uh nervous we in this game I believe in my Players let's get this running back this football because was moving a little bit and I'm like it went away from him he was they did they did start putting in two G and and and and and where I go is this one here love me some to but it needs to get to a point where this is a team and when you have a team let everybody be a part of that team it does not have to be no two and and and Travis you got a team we you know Wester over here you got Shephard over here we need to see Timmons Dron Miller I love what he did uh I want to see a little bit more special teams you know they we didn't even get to see special teams tonight because hell they either scored or kept the ball or kicked the field goal I'm like come on folks we didn't even North Dakota I'm looking at the stats North Dakota kept that ball 36 minute compared to Colorado 23 minutes they got 24 first down Colorado got 23 total yards North Dakota State 357 yards Colorado 504 passing yards 200 North Dakota State shadur 445 Rush yard 157 to 59 man come on bro penalties North Dakota State five should have got more Colorado yeah but the Colorado three was terrible two of them was terrible two of them should have never happened total plays ran 69 from North Dakota State 57 for Colorado yards per play 5.2 North Dakota State 8.8 Colorado turnovers zero North Dakota State one uh Colorado it should have been zero it should have been zero but anyway let's look at the box scores I'mma come back to you no Go Go sir cook passing uh C Miller 18 completion out of 22 attempts you got a 80 81 percentage pass 185 yard one TD a qbr 125 uh rushing yards who they leading Russia yes 16 car 16 car for 81 yard it went bad it went bad it went bad receiving they harder throw the ball they had a total of they a got to on I look at the individual let's see the individual they got that on there yet but uh I saw it on ESPN I saw the individuals Travis had yeah Travis Tris Play Good play JB Hill green Wester and Cheney at linebacker that's what they need to get I think he Lo Hilo is going to change all of that I really do you going to see something different I think Hilo is going to change all that because he G to have like 10 days so he can come and he can go and get that linebacker group where you're gonna have a freshman quarterback you're gonna have pressure on him coming from the edges it's going to be loud he if if you think it's gonna be problem calling plays it's going to be issues with that that's the first thing force him and the next thing you have is this one here when two go and put scores on the board it puts pressure on quarterbacks oh man I got to go I got to be perfect and when you got to be perfect against Travis and Hodge and and mckenny it'll cost you it'll cost you so clean up your linebacker play them edges now they get to come out there and they get to go because them big corn fed boys they don't move too well now they can go north and south but getting them going east and west it just don't work they too much corn they got corn on their knees or something so get them to moveing in that direction you got that freshman quarterback and I'm here to tell you when you're dealing with somebody as a freshman and and you put exotic defenses on there that they have never seen before that's an issue you should be hiding people where we should be blitzing putting JB on the uh Edge instead of you know have your two Lineback JB on the edge and bringing JB he should be seeing stuff he's never seen before you should have it where linebackers are blitzing him up the middle let's see what he can do let's get him to moving around let's get him a little nervous and I guarantee you let's see what he made of and the next thing is that he don't weigh that much he's a thin dude put him on his back let's put him on his back let's hit him let's that's hit him and once you hit him you can go from there so I'm not worried about Nebraska Nebraska or or or another safety end to try to tackle him because if we don't he gone so those are the things you can do for a defense to say hey make the defense uneasy but what you can't do if if I see this one more time nobody in the back field and you got five receivers what are we doing what what are we doing and then and then be what I think what you need to do go back and and when they do stuff like that let's look at the routes the receivers are running that's what we need to do because we need to determine if you're going to do that what routes are you doing and then where is to's Outlet cuz
