start to realize uh I don't have a husband yet times sure have changed while the Modern Woman in the danger zone can't find husbands Elizabeth with collecting husbands like people collect stamps who cares if it was someone else husband her marriage to Eddie fiser was marred in Scandal and public scrutiny see Eddie he thought it would be a good idea to leave his wife Debbie Reynolds for Elizabeth and Elizabeth and Eddie relationship crumbled like a dry cookie breaking into pieces Elizabeth's personal life was turning into a fullblown reality show she'd gone from grieving Widow to a home wer by the time she was 30 years old you know at 30 years old you also got to realize that you know he doesn't have a he doesn't get the benefit of your youth somebody else had the benefit of that at 34 Elizabeth Taylor pulled on Angela Joe Lee or should I say Angela Jolie had pulled Elizabeth Taylor either way she did what many actresses do when they have undeniable chemistry with a co-star they marri them now that I think about it Angela joliee was in the danger zone when she hooked up with Brad so these independent working women in the danger zone are either looking for their first husband their 40s they're tending to start dating young men have you noticed that I have and why is it because they cannot date men on the same socioeconomic status in the same age range so they got to date down in 1976 at the ripe age of 44 years old Elizabeth married John Warner a US senator from Virginia it was her seventh marriage and at the Time Warner was a politician with ambition and marrying a high-profile celebrity like Taylor could have increased his visibility and appeal and during their time together Taylor took on the role of a political wife but found the lifestyle unfulfilling has on you that you don't have on him options time you got between the ages of 18 and 35 or between the first menual and 35 before you hit high-risk pregnancy after 35 you cross over to high-risk pregnancy after 40 you cross over into really no man's land effectively a man can be in his six and still If he if he has the resources and the ability he can still marry younger even have kids doesn't matter what a lot of women say well them young women don't want you for whatever men don't care about all the things yall think they care about men we know you only want us resources anyway so the fact that you got to spend resources to get a younger woman yeah welcome to manhood so what a lot of sisters need to recalibrate is stop looking at this as though we're your equals by the time Elizabeth hit her 50s the quality of suitors had declined her final marriage at the age of 59 to Larry fortinsky a construction worker that she met in rehab was a far cry from the billionaire Heir she married at the age of 18 Elizabeth Taylor life is a powerful Testament that shows you how dating options available to women narrow as they age and the quality of their Partners often reflect this last time that is true uh I never thought I'd get married again I wasn't married for 11 years which for me is history making and uh I think the circumstances under which we met you know to go through therapy together at Betty Ford you get to know each other really well right I mean there are no secrets right and we give each other great support in our sobriety and there is a kind of closeness that is like nothing show busy it's very private right and very profound you could tell this is a woman who would go to The Cheesecake Factory a woman that would marry a bus driver see regardless of all the mistakes she's made in her life she kept her positive energy Now Kevin Samuel often used to highlight the harsh realities for women particularly black women all he was doing was telling them what high value men desire fit friendly and feminine qualities that can be changed however he often focused on qualities that couldn't be changed women with kids or older women but in that case he was just trying to send a message to those who could still control those things so when you say you a boyfriend minded at 29 it makes sense because I don't think a lot of black women really see themselves being married until later in life you have blown your youth you spent the years between 18 and 35 doing whatever the hell you chose to do no heat no judgment but you blew your youth when your counterparts who were looking to marry up and marry well were getting married their Junior and senior year in college the first and second year after college they were married at 22 and 23 and you were laughing at those white girls and those Asian girls getting married at 22 you get married after college that's too young we need to go on girls trips and having our best life and hot girl sum all this other now they're 10 years into their marriage three kids deep and their husband's a VP of marketing somewhere and while you are still got a you know you and your cats are are living in a loft downtown driving your BMW in a middling career you ain't on no career track you blew your youth you blew your youth you can't get that back you don't have time to play any more games you don't have another 10 years to try to figure this out you'll be 50 you don't have time to keep playing games
